I love the waterfront campsites and the close proximity to the mountain biking trails

Great spot for tent camping, site 8.

With as much effort put into the camping pads, there should be some effort put towards the bathrooms. Disgusting and takes away from the campground

Amazing.

Love this lake and quietness of campground. The rangers are always friendly and make frequent rounds. Most beautiful lake which is awesome for water sports and fishing. My boys love the frisbee golf course and mountain bike skills park. We come back every year and bring more friends and family each time! Only complaint is not being able to camp there more often.

Such a beautiful campground and location. Waking up every morning next to the lake is wonderful. This is the perfect location for mountain bikers, water lovers and people looking for a remote-feeling camping experience. Not the place for partiers and loud music.

The site we stayed at was gorgeous, views of the mountain and lake, and provided easy access for our kayaks. We will definitely be back.

This is the third year weve stayed at this campground and we love the lake and well maintained campsites. This year we were on a lake front site which was amazing. However the bathrooms were horrific. We stayed the first weekend they were open so I dont know if no one got around to cleaning them yet (although shouldnt they be cleaned out from the end of the year?) or if theyre always like this but they were terrible. I have never smelled a bathroom as awful and we were down wind of them the whole weekend. I know theyre not regular indoor plumbing bathrooms but the other two years we came they didnt smell at all.

Look. This is a beautiful area, and if you can get one of the water sites it has the potential for a great experience. My issue with this campground is the sites are literally right on top of one another. We were there for Labor Day weekend and we had a group of 40 people centralized in the campsite next to us, drinking and making noise till 1am. The quiet hours after 10pm were clearly not being enforced, and we ended up having to leave a day early. So I guess if you have quiet, considerate neighbors, this could be an amazing experience. But a lot of the campers out here didn't seem to be the considerate types. So you're rolling the dice, and I wish you the best of luck....

If you are looking for a mostly primitive, remote-feeling campground, then this is a good one. The campground is well maintained, and even when full, it feels like a quieter campground. Many of the sites enjoy a lot of foliage which gives them a private feel. To get to the campsites, you do have to drive back in a fair bit of distance from the entry gate, but in my opinion, that adds to the experience.The bathrooms do not have running water. There is a potable water pump, but it's back at the entrance, so you will want to fill up your water jugs when you first enter the campground. The pump is just after the entrance office/gate.Overall though, we had a good experience here.

The campsite is beautiful as always but the bathrooms are so scary. There was so many gnat type bugs in all bathrooms that you could actually hear them buzzing. When you lifted the lid they swarmed out like a horror movie! There was no hand sanitizer and the unit had been disassembled and there were dead gnat type bugs caked on it like icing.I did leave that comment on the checkout tag and we came back for our last couple days on the 29th. There was not as many bugs (hardly any) and the dispenser had been reassembled but still no sanitizer.We were at site 60 and the "ladies" side was the bigger problem

Excellent camping experience for tent campers looking to get away, yet still have some amenities: fire ring, picnic table, nicely cleared spot. I like this campground due to the proximity to the Allegripis trails.

We really enjoyed the campsite and mtb trails. I think we will try to reserve a site with a better lake view next time.

Great campground with sites right on the lake. Nice facilities and good cell service. Very close to miuntain bike trails head. Only downside was other campers not following quiet hours and being loud all night.

We enjoyed our stay. Other than when a critter was under our rv scratching, we had a great time.
@VictorYDDBF376 · Camped on Jun 16, 2023 at Campsite #39
The campsites are nice but practically on top of each other. The campers across the road were loud. How you can fit 10+ people in a tent is beyond me, but they did. I thought there was a limit on how many people per campsite, but obviously that isn't enforced. The running and mountain bike trails are amazing, so I'll be back...just probably staying at a different campground. The bathrooms stink. I've used worse, just not in this country. Showers would be nice.

We have camped here for the past 43 years. We found the staff very helpful! Don

It was a very nice spot. The site was right on the water and not too far from the restrooms

Sites were nice sized, clean camp ground, bathrooms were terrible. Now I’m not expecting anything fancy by any means, but the first bathroom I went it was floor to ceiling with flies, tried another one and someone had defecated all over the seat (gross), finally the third bathroom I tried wasn’t terrible. So plan on backup bathroom options if you are tent camping. Other than that everything else was great. The guy working the check in stand was the best part.

We arrived on a Monday not expecting to find waterfront campsites available and we did! This was a last minute mountain biking trip so we hadn’t made reservations in advance. It was extremely hot and I think many school age kids are starting sports camps so that may be the reason it wasn’t as full as we expected. Only negative was the bathroom reaked and occasionally the smell came wafting down to our campsite.

I stay at Susquehannock (upper camp) every year. Had to stay at lower camp last year due to upper being full. It was a ZOO! Had a hard time getting to sleep due to loud "music" and partying. Finally someone yelled about quiet time. Saw regular sheriff patrols this year

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
