Always a good place to chill! It seems being boat access only, helps to keep it not as full which is very nice! I look forward to all the new trees growing as there isn't much in the way of shade for most of the sites. Seems to be well kept after which is nice!

Nancys boat to shore is a beautiful place to go but I was disappointed to find that the grass was tall and had not been mowed this surprised me because we reserved right after the Labor Day holiday. They did come to mow but we had to move our camping stuff so they could mow. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom to the right and no hand sanitizer in both bathrooms. Its no fun when you already started going only to reach in and nothing is there.

I saw it said boat in but if I was never taught what that was how was I supposed to clearly know. After driving 2 hours we were stranded and no hotels would accept us due to it going on 2am before we could figure out what to do. We eventually found a campground that would let us stay after so late. But the experience was AWFUL. It should make you CONFIRM that youre sure youd like a boat in camping spot with an explanation of what boat in means before allowing a person to book it. I assume we arent the only ones to experience this. If it said boat access only or no vehicle entrance, boat only that would have been a clear explanation. Of course I also couldnt get my money back. I later found out by researching what it meant. If it states it somewhere in there description its really small and easy to miss. So be sure you have a way to ride a boat there if you camp here!

Plus side. Wonderful views and an excellent location on the lake. Negitive. Rustic bathrooms are fine. But, to be there for four days and not have one cleaning service, is not a good way to get a positive review. Bathroom accommodations were horrible! Been here many times. This time ruined our trip. Not going back.

I canoed in from James Creek Boat Launch with two canoes and two teenage grandchildren. We did it old school. The trip was about 1.5 miles. We appreciated the no wake area and wish there was one at Nancy's. I took Boy Scout Troop 42 from Tomstown, Pa there 40 years ago. There was a sandy beach at that time, and I don't remember having to bring water. A good time was had by all, and the weather was perfect. During the week Nancy's is not very busy. There were only five sites occupied. Sincerely,Bernie Frank

When parking the trailer, people on either side of my truck were out of their parking spaces which made us center over the line. We got a ticket for not parking correctly. The others did not. But the cam site was to be expected and the wardens were pleasant to talk to when checking on the sites.

Be prepared to anchor your boat away from the docking area. The water was really rough because the is not a no wake zone for this camping site. Our boat took a good beating the first night there. The bathrooms were actually pretty nice for outhouse type. Well stocked and maintained, however it was a bit of a walk from the one side of the camp. Its a lot of work hauling all your stuff including firewood. Im not sure I would want to do it again.

Well maintained primitive campground. Bathroom was kept clean and restocked often.

As of late May 2023 on site water is not available. Doug and several other Rangers stopped in each afternoon to check on campers. Very friendly and informative Rangers. Thank you. Open pit toilets were of new construction and well maintained. Xfinity cell service was no problem. New construction on the shoreline ensures no beach erosion. Landing a kayak is a little tough unless you use sites 1, 5, or 6. Very few other campers used the grounds on the weekdays I camped. If no frills isolated camping is what you like this would be the place.

I don’t know if there’s a leash rule for dogs or not, but if so, it should be enforced. Our neighbors had 4 dogs that would run free, pee on our stuff, fight with each other, and just bark all the time. We couldn’t even let our dogs on their leashes to walk and feel safe. We did complain to one of the rangers, but nothing changed. She did not do a thing about it. I love that it’s a dog friendly place, but there should just be more respect from the guests towards other guests. We asked them to please leash their dogs several times. They were rude about it and did not do it. Those people would also walk right through our site constantly to visit people at other sites. It was the worst experience we have had yet. We usually really like visiting the island.

Very quiet 4th of July at Nancy's. Which made it very nice for a full campground.

DO NOT book this spot on a holiday weekend if you have children. we had the absolute worst camping experience to date. the location is cheap. and because of that, it was very VERY busy. our family was looking for a relaxing rustic weekend on the water. we were surrounded by drunk people, who were screaming until 3 AM. my husband went out to please ask them to he quiet at 2 AM, (quiet hours start at 10) and the man stood up like he was going to fight my husband. unfortunately this place is GORGEOUS, but due to its cheap price it brings in a really "rough" crowd. you're better off booking a place a little more expensive that actually has staff that will enforce quiet hours.

Make sure you have lots of fenders to keep the wake from beating your boat up or anchor off shore . I see they drilled a well but still are not supplying water.

Stayed on site 27. Great shade in the afternoon, you will hear the boats in the morning if there is a derby. We recommend bringing a luggable loo as the vault toilets were heavily used and covered in flies. The picnic table was under water during the recent flood and was caked in mud so we switched with a site further up. The rangers came by mid afternoon both days. Plenty of sticks around to start a fire.

I have book the campground but I couldn’t star there overnight coz I came to know that it can only access through boat so I don’t have boat ,,, I applied for my money back nobody reply to me,,, It was very hard day for me to find campgrounds that day
@JamesB560 · Camped on Aug 20, 2021 at Campsite #37
Overall a very quiet rustic getaway. Would love to see the pit toilets eliminated and replaced with running water (flies are terrible!) and the army corp making that area a no wake zone (boat got beat up continuously from other boat's wakes while moored)

Wish sites weren't so close that it's hard to talk at quiet time but overall satisfied at the gorgeous setting and location!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
