Very well kept campsite! Kudos to the Ranger!

Amazing campground by the river. It was close enough to a convenience store and had well-maintained restrooms at the campground. Had a wonderful time there and would love to go again!

Beautiful campground right on the river. It was rainy, snowy, and cold but we'd love to come back in warmer weather. Great access to the Mariposa Big Trees hiking.

Ton of fun! Theres a river right next to the campground, very relaxing to fall asleep to. If you're going in Winter (even as late as February) be sure to pack extra warm and get gear rated for extreme weather, your items will be frosty when you wake up! There is a bathroom onsite that was pretty well maintained/clean. The Wawona Store is only a 5 minute drive for any last minute needs, the Valley is about an hour away.

Great place, clean, and safe, staff and ranger are super nice

We had a reservation in loop B but the restrooms were locked in the afternoon. They should have been kept open thru our reservation period. It might make sense if they were locked the following day when they were FF. Very frustrating and inconvenient.

Amazing place

We absolutely love staying at Wawona campground! If you like quiet days camping, while most people go to the valley for the day this is the place for you.
@AnaMayHCCD6FEA · Camped on Oct 25, 2024 at Campsite #14
This campsite is right next to a busy road so you hear cars going in and out of Yosemite all night. Other than that, it was clean and adequate spot for a night or a weekend
@SelvarajM89C36 · Camped on Oct 25, 2024 at Campsite #20
We visited in October and its little cold at night otherwise the best campsite we have ever visited. We were in loop A and is close to the road so expect some road noise in the night. There is a small river flow adjacent to the campsite. Fall color and the river is the best combo to sit and relax.

Lovely peaceful campsite (til my neighbors showed up; then it got a little exciting).

The campground was beautiful, and the bathrooms were super clean. The camp host was so lovely and knowledgable. We plan to go back next spring

Great campground. Very peaceful and beautiful. Campground spaces are farther apart than other campgrounds in the valley. Wawona campground provides a great camping experience!

Really nice Campground at the river in yosemite. Campgrounds have tables, a big bear locker and a fire pit. 40 min drive to the valley. Only toilets are available and only one toilet has light at night. Dumpstation, water and a small supermarket are in wawona 1 min away.

nice campground!

Beautiful south fork of Merced River. But had people arriving after dark setting up tent with kids. And smoky campfire requiring me to close windows at bed time. Better free Boondocking on OHV dirt road south of Fish Camp.

I liked the location of the ground by the river. It was nice to listen to in the evening. I just wish I was not in the first part where RV's with their generators were located. They all turned them off at the appropriate time, but when they were running, they were quite loud. It was very convenient to get to the dinning room at the hotel and to the Sequoia grove.

The site was perfect! Just next to the river and close to the restrooms. We visited the Mariposa Grove, which was spectacular and the Valley the day before our stay here. Both are must sees!

We loved our campsite with water view and easy to set up tents. Loved the size of our campsite and enjoyed the kindness of NPS staff.

Very nice campground next to a boulder strewn river. Sites are fairly close together. It was a good option since we could not get sites in the valley but the drive to the valley is full of switchbacks and takes 45 min to drive. Would highly recommend driving up to glacier point on your way to or from the valley.

Amazing place! I stayed at site 46 C.

The parking area for our campervan was quite small, and on the road, which resulted in a lack of privacy.

This campground is a fun spot.I would say this is a fine campsite, but it is a little bit closer to the camp road than most campsites and there may be other sites that are more fun (like closer to the river).There were no issues related to camp road proximity, and the site was a comfortable, yet close distance to the bathrooms. The toilets are flush toilets. Some of the other reviews talked about the parking spot being too small for 2 cars but it was large enough to (barely) accommodate an XC60 and a CRV. We were also able to fit two 4-person tents and a 2-person backpacking tent. 4 camp chairs fit snugly around the fire ring.The campsite is a 35-40 minute drive from the valley but you pass the entrance to glacier point and an astounding lookout on the way. It is also very close to Mariposa grove (giant sequoia trees).There is a very quaint store called Pine Tree Market on Chilnualna Falls Rd that has a surprising array of foods, snacks, alcohol, and conveniences. They even had homemade(?) sausage that looked quite good (did not buy).The local stores tend to run out of firewood (at least when I was there, but based on the number of campers buying wood for fires) so I would recommend foraging for firewood from fallen trees/branches. We were able to find plenty of dry, dead wood inside the park, but it is also an option to drive up Mount Raymond Rd near Fish Camp.

Beautiful spot to camp, large spaces and bathroom was exceptionally clean.

We have been camping in Yosemite since early eighties but since we moved up above Oakhurst near Bass Lake we havent been camping in about Seven years . This time we got Campsite 11 A on the river and absolutely had a great time in fact we will be going up again in Oct . Nothing like camping Yosemite.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
