Sites are large and separated from your neighbor. Would return for another time.

Beautiful campground. Helpful camp hosts, but one of the hosts didn't know much about the area, this is his first year there. He did point out some spots on the map and we checked into those places and were not disappointed! Even though we did not use the showers, it would have been helpful to know that the showers are metered and use quarters $$. The recycling dumpster probably had not been emptied yet this year, and it was quite full of trash, ashes, etc, not recycling. I will recommend this campground to my family and friends.

There was running water - hot - in the bathrooms. Only one building with showers - coin operated - in the west loop. Probably 1/4 mile from the campsites on the far side of the east loop. In the east loop there are 26 sites. Only one bathroom with 1 toilet for men and two toilets for women. This did not seem to be enough - especially during high operation times in the morning or evening. The feel of the campground is "old and tired". It could use some TLC with more johns and upgrade to the facility. The campground hosts were wonderful and attentive. For a beautiful Labor Day weekend, it was relatively quiet - which was very nice.

The sites are large and well-drained -- just as well as we had a lot of rain. There was some road noise, but nothing too bad. The picnic tables are massive - about 12 feet long! The bathrooms were basic and older, but clean and functional - bring your own soap and towel. The showers were just fine - good hot water and good water pressure - bring $2.50 in quarters. The location is great for hiking and exploring the western side of the Whites.

The site was clean. Very easy to get to and relatively quiet. Have visited multiple times and enjoyed each visit

It was very nice other than our neighbors had children all night screaming and crying disrupting nature.

The price of the shower was too expensive, theres no soap in the bathroom, no firewood available.

Nice semi quiet campground. I say semi quiet cause you are a little close to the main road where you can easily see and hear passing traffic if you are camping at a site that is on the front half of the circles. Thankfully there wasn't a whole lot of traffic to ruin the trip, especially at night when it was time to sleep. My only recommendation, for trailer and RV campers, is not to reserve site 42. Even though the site says that trailers and RV/Motor homes are alowable equipment you will find that you will have a difficult to near impossible time , pending the size of your trailer or RV and your comfort level/skill towing, getting into the site due to the campground road being narrow and 2 wide trees rooted right in front of the site driveway on the opposite side of the road. If the trees were not where they were, site would be perfect for trailers and RVs.

Rustic experience, as advertised. Very easy access and close to Compton which has restaurants, gas, supplies, et al. I wish we had known the water available wouldn't fit a hose to fill our fresh water tank; I'd have filled before getting there. Otherwise, a good experience.

Stay at site 34 for one quick night and was very please with my first stay at Campton. Everyone in the area was friendly and the campsite was clean and well cared for. Firewood purchased was a little wet and there was some light noise from the nearby road from our campsite. Overall I would stay here again.

The host were very helpful. They suggested Welsch-Dickey as a day hike with great views and this was a great suggestion! 4.5 miles 1800' elevation change well worth the effort and sore muscles. Had to help our 2 golden retrievers up a couple of the rocks.

Very happy with my experience at the campground!

Very rustic. Not a value for $30. The campground was not well cared for, we left early. Probably the starkest campground we have stayed at, the bathrooms were not maintained. We aren’t fussy but this place could use an infusion of TLC
@RichS5238453 · Camped on Jul 8, 2022 at Campsite #42
Great little campground. Clean toilets and showers. The toilets should have soap and a hand dryer. There is electrical so it wouldn’t be much to add the blow dryers. Site was good for being closer to the road. Site 42. Good mix of young people and seasoned camping veterans. Would definitely go again

The campground is adequate. The sites are large and well spaced. However there is no dump station and we would not know where to fill our water tank except for the help of the Host and a pair of pliers. Highway noise bothered us some. Lincoln was a great place to get supplies. The staff at the Lincoln visitor center were very helpful.

Tree trimming maintenance needed.

The sites were nice and clean. The sites are more suitable for RV's vs tents because the ground (even on the "soft" sites) was gravel. Restrooms were clean but having an outdoor light would be nice. Cost of a shower was unexpectedly high. There was no information on where to wash our dishes but a lot of information on where not to wash them. We had reserved a site before our trip so we would be assured of a site when we arrived. When we got there, we found a first come first serve site that we liked better. The campground was at least 75% empty so we did not think this would be a problem. The campground host was not on site for us to ask if we could move. I called Recreation.gov and they did not know if we could move. We went ahead and set up camp at the new site. When the host returned we told them we had moved and asked if this was ok. We were lectured, belittled and even insulted for several minutes about how difficult it is when someone chooses to change their reservation. We have camped for many years and have never had an experience like this. We offered to move back to our original site but were told we could stay at the new site since we had already set up. All the host had to do when we asked to move was to tell us this is not allowed. We stayed there 5 nights and the campground was never more than 30% occupied. This was not a happy welcome to New Hampshire.

I did not enjoy my trip to Campton as much as I'd hoped. I was unaware that the showers cost $2.50 for 5 minutes until I entered the stall; that may have been my mistake, but I did not see this information when reserving my site and I was unprepared. I also did not bring my own firewood as instructed, but the hosts at the campsite sold me freshly cut green firewood that absolutely would not light, which was an inconvenience. Additionally, I did not realize that the campsites are so close to a pretty busy road, so the traffic was slightly noisy.
@DanielD929 · Camped on Jul 1, 2021 at Campsite #36
Sites are spacious and private. Only downside is several are close to the road.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
