Normally I always give 5 stars. This was our 29th year camping as a group of 2 families, we always love it.The reason we were disappointed this year was the state of the water. Never has the water been so bad. It was yellowish green and smelled so strong of chlorine, not just a little, but just horrible. Actually I have never experienced such bad water. So for 5 days we had to buy plastic bottled water for drinking and cooking. Please don't say it was "oaky" to drink. It was disgusting.I hope you can fix it. It used to be wonderful! Thank you.

Nice campground. Lots of shade. Wanted to climb sugarloaf mountain but the bridge was out and we had had huge amounts of rain forecasted and night before Unable to climb mountain because couldnt cross river safely or count on a safe return. Please fix the bridge!

The road leading up to the campgrounds is terrible! Big potholes that have not been repaired in 3 years! The sites were very unkept with weeds and tall grass around the perimeters. Dead tree's right at the edge of the camp just waiting to fall over in a windy storm. Bathrooms were very dirty also. What use to be a very pleasant camping spot has turned into an after thought.

Site was nice and fairly secluded. Sites are spread out for privacy. However, the road to get there was HORRENDOUS. I dont think Ive ever had to drive through so many massive potholesshame on the park service!!

I was very pleased with Sugarloaf 1: Relatively large campsites with lots of wooded space separating sites. Convenient basic services like water faucets and restrooms within a reasonable distance. Beautiful and strategic location of the campground. Reasonable fee. Easy reservation process. Great experience.

Site itself was very nice and spacious. Picnic table was very clean. Bathroom only had one working stall, the other was locked. Clearly there are flush toilets, so there is running water, but no sinks.

10+ years at Sugarloaf with family and friends. Always clean, quiet and fun with hiking and the river.

Had an amazing time! There were no sinks in the bathroom, but we had hand sanitizer so no biggie. The river nearby was great for swimming and cooling off and plenty of hiking nearby! Amazing trip and will be coming back!

We have been coming to this campground for many years and are already planning for next year. There are no “bad” sites, each site is spacious and relatively secluded. You are walking distance from three great trail heads. Middle Sugarloaf having an amazing view...bring your lunch!! The hosts are always very welcoming without being intrusive. Clean, quiet, and minimal...just as we like it.

Very neat and clean campground and campsite. Our campsite (SL1 - 19) had a large FLAT area for tents which was nice. Campsites far enough from one another which was nice for privacy. Men and Women's Bathrooms had standard flushable toilets which was nice. No sink however to wash your hands. And campground has water throughout for easy access. Pipes do freeze however so bring your own supply. Very dark road getting into the campground with many deep potholes so enter with caution. Great location to explore Mount Washington and surrounding area.

Campsite and bathrooms were clean. Very pretty area. Pretty secluded so we were able to stargaze at night. Glad we made the stop!

The site was easy to get to and pretty large for my small motorcycle pull behind trailer camper (Lee-sure Lite). The bathroom was a little odd that it did not have a sink.

We love this campground with lush, private sites. This campground doesn't tend to draw families or RVs, making it very quiet, even during the evenings. A total gem.

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
