Just to the east, the Shenandoah National Park offers a variety of campsites along the Blue Ridge Parkway, with opportunities for hiking, wildlife watching, and panoramic mountain views. For a more secluded experience, the George Washington National Forest offers backcountry camping surrounded by dense forests and tranquil streams. The nearby Rivanna River offers peaceful riverside camping, ideal for canoeing, fishing, and relaxing by the water.
