Lake and grounds beautifully kept. The hosts of the A loop were fantastic (Rick and ?). We ended up with a campsite that was not suited to our mobility and they effected a change to one perfect for us. They also helped us reload and unload the truck as we moved. Gracious, helpful, interesting, knowledgeable, and attentive. They made of visit a sublime experience.

Nice campground/park close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Site had electric hookup and water/sewer dump were available. Bathhouse was clean with good showers.We did not have reservations and could not directly pay for a site at the check in station. We had to drive 5+ miles to get a cell signal so we could reserve a site via Recreation.gov. This, of course, resulted an additional $8 reservation fee.

My family loved coming camping at Sherando. We stayed at a quiet campsite where my kids went exploring, hiking , fishing and swimming in the beautiful lake. We only stayed one night on two different occasions, but the kids are begging to stay 2 nights next time. Great fun for the family

My Family and I love camping here. We have camped twice and each time was wonderful and relaxing. Love the hiking and the peace and quiet. There is a shower house as well as restrooms on the camp site for your connivence. We are looking forward to our Fall camping trip. Thank you for providing a place like Sherando for all to enjoy!!

Nice campground except for the rude people today plays music obnoxiously loud and walk through campsites like it's theirs

The "B" and "C" campsites are very nice and the lake is beautiful. The ropes should be knoted on floated on the lake and improvement. Also, gets the dogs out the lake where people are swiming.

We had so much fun, walking around the lakes, meeting new people. It is a very well kept campground.

Spent a week at Sherando Lake in site C07.Being from the general area, we didn't find the need to explore the area, but there are many places and things to see. Be prepared for no cell service, except for ATT I'm told, or TV reception without satellite equipment. Great place to read and unwind. My wife and I found the showers and bathrooms to be excellent and are generally very clean. The hosts in Loop C were very friendly and easy to talk with.

I grew up camping at Sherando Lake. My fondest memories are in each of these campgrounds. I learned how to drive there. My older sister had her graduation party there. I had my party for graduation as well, It is a true family campground. I lived in Montana for 27 years and camped at some pretty nice places but Sherando Lake is my home, I went camping last weekend for the first time at Sherando and my heart was full as well as my head of amazing memories. There is no place like home. Go make yours!!

The campsites at Sherando are always well groomed, clean and ready for the next campers. The bath house is also cleaned daily and always in great shape. The camp hosts do an amazing job. Perfect lake setting for swimming and kayaking and the hiking trails are great! Sherando is a real gem!

Sherando Lake is a camper's delight. Trailer sites are clean and well groomed. Bath houses are clean and well maintained. Hiking and cycling trails offer a wide range of difficulty. Heed the notice about cell service, it is minimal at best.

Excellent site, well maintained. Friendly staff. Had a water shortage during our stay. Limited to no water at dump station

We used Sherando Lakes campground as our base for exploring historical places. It is within easy to moderate driving distance of, Monticello (Jefferson), Montpelier (Madison), Red Hill (Patrick Henry), Highland (Monroe), Manassas Battlefield, Appomattox Court House, and we drove a segment of the Skyline Drive. Every other day we stayed around the shady, well cared-for campground. Highly recommended.

I had a very good time it was very relaxing and enjoyable. Everything there was perfect but it would have been very good if there was a laundry machine.

Check the satellite for shade coverage in the summer. Our site was scorching during the day making naps or relaxing very difficult. Showers were hit or miss: sometimes hot, sometimes cold. Site was clean and prepped

Great site with some steps and a bear box. Large pad, lantern pole, fire ring, extra long picnic table. Not far from the restroom, but not so close to be annoying.Great park for swimming and bike riding. There are vendors for firewood outside. We like Coiners. Bring cash!

Great camping experience mid week. Tent camped in A loop. Clean site, clean bath-house, friendly host. Did have to listen to Finding Nemo blaring after 10 PM from the amphitheater - otherwise very quiet (thing liven up on the weekends). Hiked, biked, and jumped in the lake. Sherando is a pretty spot!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
