Carl is the best camp host Ive ever encountered. So dedicated to his job and this campground!

This was a nice quiet campground. That being said, it was a little disappointing that the bathroom and shower facilities were shut down for the winter. I understand shutting off the water at camp sites, but it seems that at least toilets would stay functional. Otherwise, it was clean, quiet, with a beautiful view.

We were in a nice concrete site (12, and 18). Water was off, so just electric in winter. Host was always cleaning and friendlly

Equestrian campground is nice. You should bring your own means of getting manure to the one dump area, the wheel burrow onsite is useless. The manure dump area was overflowing. The camp host is breeding cats! Its ridiculous! The cats were everywhere! At least 15! They leave about 7 food bowls outside. The cats run all over marking and peeing on anything you leave outside! The cats annoy the campers dogs and horses. Luckily our horses didnt step on or kick them when they were entering their stalls.

Park was neat and clean. Everything worked. No complaints. The hiking/horse trails were well marked.

Quiet and a little off the beaten path. New campsites are nice! Older ones on gravel are challenging to level rigs like ours with no automatic levelers, but most have nice shade and fishing dock is nice. Staff does an amazing job keeping restrooms and showers almost spotless!

Platter has been our go to camp ground but I'm not sure we'll be going back... our first morning there we were approached by the care taker saying we need to keep our dogs leashed, but we saw 10 other people with dogs.... none of which were on a leash. Our 3 dogs were 2 pits and a small terrier mix breed (all of which are very loving, well behaved dogs) They weren't even given a chance due to their looks... I believe we will find somewhere else to camp from now on

The lake view is beautiful, the hosts are great, the bathrooms super clean, the concrete pads are level and lawn always mowed. However, we were there for the third time, and probably won't go back due to the huge population of flies this trip, and ants everywhere that got in our tent, RV, truck and boat every time we camped there. This past trip we could not sit outside to eat or even enjoy the view. And, there are burrs everywhere, so our puppy couldn't get in the grass at all.

This was beautiful camp ground and it was awesome to bring our horses. We were actually in Durant for the college rodeo to watch our daughter compete and just by chance saw this campground. Super fun for us all.

Platter Flats is my favorite campsite hands down. There are plenty of trees for shade, and lots of room to move around.

If it werent for the ants taking over, my rating would be a 5+.Staff is wonderful! The campground is kept so clean! The main bath/shower house is really nice and clean. The ants are everywhere. They will invade your camper, your car and even your boat unless you stake and tie up your boat out in the water. We spread a full bag of diatomaceous earth for insects all around the camper, the pad the camper and picnic table sits on and all around the trees where their main nests are. This helped a lot, but since the ants had already invaded the camper, we were constantly fighting them inside with ant traps. When we asked maintenance to spray they said that we are invading their space and they cant kill them all.

The staff were very nice. We got a kick out of seeing the horses go by, we were on A side which is the equestrian side.

I reported to the gate attendant at dusk on the 4th of July that we had to reset our 30 amp breaker several times and that the breaker was warm to the touch. She said she would let maintenance know about it. The next morning two maintenance guys showed up at our campsite and replaced the breaker. We had no more issues the rest of the weekend. We appreciate the quick response and always enjoy camping at Platter Flats.

GATE ATTENDANT IS SUPER SWEET AND ALWAYS HELPFULL, BATHROOMS AND CAMPING SPOTS ARE ALWAYS CLEAN AND WELL KEPT. ONLY THING I SEE IS SOME OF THE TREES HANG TO LOW FOR SOME CAMPERS TO FIT AS WELL AS SOME OF THE SITES HAVE BAD DROPS WHEN COMING OUT THE DOOR OF SOME CAMPERS.
@LoriM2853870 · Camped on Jun 18, 2024 at Campsite #B20
The campsite was clean and very shaded. The bathrooms were always clean when we took showers, and the campsite was very quite at night. My family had one of the best trips this summer at Platter.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
