The campground is right on Lake Bardwell, has plenty of sites. Our site was clean and level, the restrooms were clean as well and the water was hot in the shower. It is an older campground and could use some road repairs, but besides that is well maintained. Check in was very easy.

The layout and sites were nice. However, the park infrastructure is in poor shape. While very clean, only one of four showers had hot water and two had no water. Several sites had very poor paving and were not available to rent. The marina was closed.That said, we enjoyed our stay and attended the Bluebonnet festival in Ennis. The gate staff were very friendly.

A vacation at High View has been a pleasant and relaxing experience. We have been waiting for a year to visit again, but was delayed because of construction updates but was pleased when we could stay again. Now we are planning for the next trip.

Great spot with a view of the lake. The staff was incredibly helpful. I would recommend this spot to others, and plan to stay again.

The park and its facilities are very run down. Roads are in poor shape. There was a construction crew that seemed very incompetent working on water lines the entire week we were there.

Water/electric service worked as advertised. The new shower/bathroom was great! We come to High View park every year for the NHRA Fall Nationals at the Texas Motorplex! A great place to stay….8 miles to the track!

Tall grass,Water pressure was low, found out new water lines being put in this week, dump was closed and had to go to another park, I will still come back

I usually stay here every year in the fall. I was disappointed that the dump station was closed and that I had to go to another park to dump my waste. The landscaping was poor. Only part of the grounds had been mowed. The showers had very low pressure and was not worth using unless it was an emergency. Gate was locked early when I was told that they would be open later due to it being race night and that it runs late on Friday. Host did come out to unlock gate so, several of us racers could get in. The picnic table was in need of repair. It had a big piece missing on the tabletop. Trash was overflowing upon arrival and not emptied for almost a week. Bathrooms only cleaned once a week. Lots of bugs on the countertops and seats in the bathroom. My site was level however, there were dead trees over hanging my RV. Dead trees need to be cut back and/or removed. I still like being able to see the lake and enjoying the quiet evenings. With improvements, I would recommend High View RV park.

Great price, very nice lake.

The camping was great. My biggest complaint is that they mowed the grass during the weekend. I camped for a total of 9 days and during the week no one mowed. They waited until the weekend to mow. I think that was wrong.
@JasonJ7878178 · Camped on Sep 8, 2022 at Campsite #24
Although the grass needed to be cut, the park was clean and maintained. Park staff was on point, friendly, and helpful! Great place to go.
@MelissaL566 · Camped on Jan 12, 2022 at Campsite #46
Beautiful, well maintained campground. My only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the campsites are really close to each other

Ours was great but our friends had to wait 2 hours for the previous campers to move out of their spots.

The park officials were so nice and helped us learn so much about the park and its services / passes.
@MichaelG931 · Camped on Dec 13, 2021 at Campsite #21
I RATED MY STAY FAIR BECAUSE WHEN I MADE MY RESERVATION (JUST A COUPLE OF DAYS PRIOR TO MY STAY, I ASKED IF THE RV DUMP WAS OPERATIONAL SINCE SOME REVIEWS STATED IT WAS NOT. I CALLED THE PARK AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS FIXED AND OPERATIONAL. As it turns out it was not working. As a result, I had to pay an addition $10 at a Loves stop to empty my tanks. More cost and time.
@ErikC141 · Camped on Dec 11, 2021 at Campsite #47
My new favorite place to tent camp and fish!
@KeithM916 · Camped on Dec 5, 2021 at Campsite #29
As usual the park experience was great. The only issue was after being at the park for a week we were going to dump our tanks and found out the dump site was blocked off and not accessible. It created quite a problem to then find an alternate dump site before being able to get on with our trip.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
