Only stayed one night on our way to Tennessee, but really enjoyed the location and facilities. Beautiful area and friendly people at check-in.

Spacious site. No mid day shade. Very nice park. Bathrooms could use some updating.

Defeated Creek is our favorite camping place! Well kept, great bathhouses, easy access for kayaking and good roads to ride our bikes. The staff is very helpful also. If your a Senior make sure and get the America the Beautiful lifetime card and save half on your camping fees!!

The worker in the check-in booth was friendly and helpful. The campsite was great. I just wish that the Corps would keep this campground open on a year-round basis.

Very nice all around. The Only negative is that a campground with this many spaces should have more laundry machined. 1 washer and 1 dryer is not enough.

I rented the pavillion for a family dinner! It was a great experience. Appreciate having this nearby and being able to enjoy the great outdoors as well as family.

This park is by far our most favorite campground, the green areas are always manicured, bathroom/shower houses always clean and hosts always helpful! Only suggestion I have is maybe another WiFi station put up due to poor cell service in area.

It's a beautiful park. There seems to be a lot of resources dedicated to it, compared to some other ACOE camps. The sites are well spaced, and it was a quiet park, even during the Fall Breaks that had many kids in the camp with their families. We especially appreciated that dog barking was not a problem: the few times we heard one bark, it was shushed quickly, and we never saw one unleashed. Security was prioritized in that there is a gate code that one must know in order to get into the camp after dark, when the station house is closed. Cell service is poor and the Wi-Fi at the restrooms didn't work well, either. The best cell service we got was at a little pizza restaurant in the park, outside of the camping area. They have public Wi-Fi.The one complaint we had: on our last night there, a big wrecker showed up two sites down, hauling in a big flatbed truck on i's own bed, and proceeded to unload it...at 11:15 at night! It was very intrusive and noisy. We felt sorry for the folks right across from this site, because the wrecker's lights were pointed straight at their encampment mostly. The wrecker came within a couple of feet from the bumper of their vehicle. We asked the man what was going on, and he had some story about having purchased that vehicle that day and that his insurance wouldn't allow it to be dropped off at the station house. This means that he either gave the wrecker the gate code, or met him at the gate to let him in. Why this couldn't have been done in the daytime, we have no idea. Hope someone takes a look at this; we did call the number offered for help, and of course, no one answered it at that hour. We could only leave a message, and we wondered what would happen if a real emergency occurred and someone called that number for help. Cell service is spotty in this park, and we were surprised that we actually got a call out, so relying on "Call 911 for emergencies" isn't a good policy in this park

The facilities are well maintained by a very friendly staff. Access to the sites is spacious and thus very straightforward.

Beautiful park on the water. Everything well maintained. Thought I had 50A FHU but only had 30A (no sewer). My bad! Definitely be more attentive next time. And there will be a next time! Weathered remnants of Hurricane Helene but still enjoyed.

Enjoyed my stay much more than in the past when the host using the name Buck and his wife were there. They were very unprofessional and unfriendly. I called several representatives of the Corp of Engineers and the Ranger in charge at that time but none seemed to care how the visitors were treated by that couple. By the way , I heard many complaints from other campers about them.
@TerriJF5012163 · Camped on Sep 17, 2024 at Campsite #91
Love this place. Only one complaint is the smell of the water sometimes. Real sulphur and stinky. Not our lines. We flushed before we got there.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
