There was a trailer in the spot that I reserved. The area also smelled like urine.

Everything was fine. Until the showers were not available or working.

Exceeded monthly allowance of waste water and therefore no water was available meaning sinks and showers also. Rec.gov did not reach out to us with this nor did we get any compensation for the full price paid for amenities we did not have access to. We would have canceled our trip if we had known showers and running water were not available. Shame on them for not refunding stays during this duration and importantly, not letting anyone know prior to the date of arrival.

Not from the area. Made reservation on line, as required. Thought it would be a good idea to camp closest to the beach. REALITY: Walmart parking lot with atvs. You need to do better webpaging and tell campers what to expect. No phone connection to modify camping situation. You need a better reservation issue department.

We have been going to the Oregon Dunes off and on for well over 30 years. Driftwood campground has been our favorite place to go.Until this last visit Aug 17-20. We have never seen this campground in such an awful state and are so disappointed. Pavement not cleaned off, no groundskeeping at all, dog crap. The worse was the restrooms. The womens garbages were full, a toilet out of order and no toilet paper. The mens room was toxic, not clean at all with vomit everywhere that had been there for days from what the other campers told us. The main mens restroom had only 1 working sink.This is not acceptable. This is a very popular spot. It needs to be taken care of !!

Great camp hosts!!! My complaints would be the shower hours, shower water pressure, and the theft. We had gas cans stolen which talking to the hosts it's a common issue.

we have stayed here for 45 summers in a row. we love everything about it except the hours of the showers. it is ridiculous that after a day of duning and being in salt water, that we cannot take a shower. we have been told in the past it had to do with the septic load, but it makes more sense to me that you spread out the water usage. We pay a lot for services there, but are short changed in the shower department.

Great Place

We love the direct access to the Oregon Dunes northern riding area. We also love that we can park our trailer how we want within our groups sites. The sites we stayed in (3,4,5,7,and 9) are spacious and have a nice place for the kids to play behind our trailers. The camp host were fantastic and very helpful.

We love coming here to camp and ride our quads. The BIGGEST issue we have is that the hours of operation for the showers has completely changed. It use to be open in the morning and the evening. After a day of riding we enjoy being able to take showers and clean up. The fact that the showers are only open in the morning now has made our experience less then desirable. Its rather frustrating actually. No one wants to go to bed with sand everywhere and not be able to clean up after the day. I really hope they change the hours of operation for the shower. I also noticed that the bathrooms are not as well kept as they use to be. It seemed that they would go days without being actually cleaned up, same with the showers. I hope changes are made sooner rather then later.

We had an excellent time at Driftwood and the caretakers were extremely friendly and helpful. We come to the campground 3 to 4 times a year and also enjoy our stay! Highly recommend

Our stay this time was just ok, compared to previous stays. Bathrooms were dirty and i don't believe they cleaned them at all during our whole stay. Showers were filthier than the bathrooms. Having to clear the drains so the water could go down was disgusting. Then there was the host on the motorized wheel chair that was videoing riders going out and coming in from the dunes- creepy!! I dont think they acted like camp hosts at all, other than loudly giving people a hard time as they arrived. On top of all that their dog was NOT leashed.

We always enjoy staying at Driftwood. Easy access to the dunes. The camp hosts are great! Donny the camp host is always very nice and helpful. The bathrooms are always clean and now the showers are free. The showers are now warmer also. The only negative that I would say is that the water pressure in the showers is very low.

Basic site, paved parking lot with table and campfire pit.Worst fire pit I have ever seen .Its like a fire in a barrel. You need to burn so much wood to get any heat out it , Its 'merica I guess burn 10 times amount of wood just to keep everyone safe?We did like the camp host though driving around in his electric chair ,fun guy!

An awesume RV park. Convient and close to the dunes.Disappointed that you removed the cable TV.We enjoyed our experience and will definatly be back!

Great place! Other campers were pretty respectful, quiet at night, pet friendly, easy dune and beach access. Only complaint was showers closed at 2pm, which is pretty crazy. We like to take showers before bed and closing them at 2pm was not helpful at all.

The camp hosts were amazing! Grumpy and bill I believe were their names. Super helpful and funny dudes. They were so so nice and welcoming. I attended for a jeep event and we had a blast. The dunes were amazing. Next year I will book one of the sandy areas simply to have a different experience. I booked 5 nights and only stayed 2/5 due to weather but all in all the facilities were clean and well managed.
@JeffreyW413498 · Camped on May 13, 2024 at Campsite #64
Large parking area, I was able to park a four door long bed dodge with a 23' car trailer in this spot with room for two other vehicles. Spot 64 has a nice tree that helped block the wind. Not a lot of room for a tent. This campground was clean, the bathrooms were usable but the showers were cold...This campground looks to be primarily for people who bring there stand toys to play in the dunes ( What I did ). Not a spot for a family to just enjoy the outdoors. The sand access trail is directly in front of this campground. Lots of generators running, constant sound of vehicles, motorcycles, quads and side by sides ripping up and down the sand access trail.Not a quiet campground at all. But I knew that going into it.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
