Plenty of shade! Kept clean and well tended. I really love the addition of the bear boxes for each site!! I do wish they were ALL level at each site, and in front of each site, as not all are. And VERY happy to see trash being taken out on Fridays, as it helps with the bear precautions to have empty bins prior to starting the busy weekends so that trash doesnt end up overflowing and the bear-safe dumpsters stay closed at night. Wish it was also taken out on Mondays or Tuesdays to help with holiday weekend trash traffic!

Great host and information, the location is perfect and close to water. My family had a wonderful time thank you.

My family has been camping at Bass Lake for 4 generations, starting with my Granny, who first came up to the lake to escape the hot valley summers. We always chose Spring Cove campsite, due to the convenient access to Rocky Point Day Use. There are bathrooms located on every loop, and the sites are shady and mostly of a good size for tent camping. The recently installed bear boxes are a welcome addition- no more worrying about the bears stealing your steaks ( I know this one from first hand experience!).If you are looking for a great place to take your family at Bass Lake, this is the place. Year after year, 99% of the time, we have been greeted by friendly camp hosts, settled into our favorite sites and have had a wonderful time.

Make sure to go straight to recreation office for camping to get checked in then after go to ur campsite. Staff is very nice and will give you information you need. FYI bring $10 for firewood! you have to buy it there. there are about 4 bears active but i didnt see any although a couple car alarms went off in the night. 057 campsite is very nice and its close to the entrance with lake nearby. 057 does NOT have a bear box and the bench is a little broken on one side.

Site was very nice and had good room for our tents. Good shade but with the weather being 110 degrees, we stayed at the water mostly. having the restroom near by was also nice. Finding the site was the only tricky part. having more signs at the entrance to tell you which drive service which site would be very helpful since the paper map in the front is small and can be hard to understand. We spent 20 minutes looking for the site and driving around the dead end until we found it by process of elimination. A minor thing once you know your way around but major if it's your first time. With that being the only trouble we had, we loved our time there and would recommend the site to others.

We love it! Best Sites would be 13 or 14 for an amazing view9 for a nice secluded area ( we saw it and it was so nice and shade all around )

Excellent and helpful host. Clean flush toilets. Nice sites and easy walking access to bass lake. 40ish minutes to Yosemite gate if you go early and beat the crowds.

The campsite was excellent and the camp host Raymond was very helpful. Please be advised that this is also an RV campground. The campers next to our camp had very loud generators, which really ruined our experience of being outdoors and listening to the sounds of natural nature. Otherwise, the location is wonderful. The Forks Resort Restaurant is a great place to get a bite to eat and stock up on essentials. Yosemite is also approximately an hour away.

We've stayed at this campsite (#50) several times. This time was a disaster.(1) Mid-may 2024, the campsite is infested with mosquitoes.(2) We had an adolescent male bear who refused to leave the campsite - about 15 yards away. We ended up getting a hotel room.(3) The bear box is not tall enough to fit a Yeti roller cooler. Beautiful area but would probably pick a different campsite next time.

Gorgeous view. However use of water not nearby. After riding on that winding long road and getting there and then having to drive back 3 miles to register is absurd. Its also absurd that if I want to use a beach on the lake while Ive paid for camping, I have to pay $10 more. Ive never had that happen in a Camping situation before.
@StephenC406899 · Camped on May 3, 2024 at Campsite #56
No bear box at this site. Camp host said we had to find somebody at another site to share with.

Campground and facilities were wonderful, but I have to rate the check-in experience poorly. We arrived at the campground with our name clipped on the sign in front of the spot. The host arrived to greet us and told us we would need to register at the registration office which was 4.2 miles away--an 8.4-mile roundtrip journey. (Why couldn't he just check us in?) I get to the registration office and they ask for ID and car license plate only to write my name on a post-it using a Sharpee and instructed to post it as a replacement for the one that already had my name on the post back at the campground. What an inconvenience and waste of time! There's got to be a better way.

Grounds keeper or what ever they are called was really cool, helpful friendly guy. Site was cool, space between sites so you still get quail running through. Had a good time

Ray was a great camp host. Wood cost $10. Campsite #14 was very nice and semi private as it is down about 10 steps/stairs from the parking spot. Partial view of the lake. Some mild road noise. Fishing derby was that weekend so the campground was packed and NOISY. Lots of generators. Site 14 did NOT have its own bear box so we had to share with other sites. I think each site needs its own bear box for adequate and safe storage. Bathrooms were clean. Parking around the lake cost $10 per day. Willow creek and Angel falls hike was nice.

I love Spring Cove and have camped here 5 different times. Twice weve stayed in site 13 and it has a great view of the lake! The site is spacious and is level for tents. While the scenery is spectacular, this site does come with some down sides. There really isnt much shade, so if you dont have a canopy, it can get very hot for the majority of the day while the sun is rising and overhead. The site is right above the road, so the traffic can take away from the silence of nature if thats what youre there for. Also being so close to the lake, the music and screams from people at the lake can be a bit much. But, if those type of sounds dont bother you and you have a canopy, then this is an excellent spot!

I love it, but the trash. They pick it up every other day and it was so much rash the Bear came along. Another thing the bathroom. At least every bathroom two restrooms were broken. Need to fix that.

The ranger was very helpful and the space was good. The lake is a must visit and very quick to walk down to.

A beautiful campground! Clean, densely packed with vegetation, 1 to 5 minute walk to the lake depending where your campsite is. I will always try to reserve a spot here in the future!
@RachelS6363728 · Camped on Aug 12, 2023 at Campsite #53
Awesome experience. Maybe a little bit better communication on how/where to check in. I went to the station but they told me I could have checked in with the host. Nevertheless, still amazing - clean and beautiful. Can't wait to visit again.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
