This was our first experience with a group campsite. We had a wonderful time. There was a group of 9 of us and we had 5 cars and 5 tents. There was plenty of room for additional tents. Our group site 3 was right next to group site 2 so you could hear their conversations, see them, and such. Group site 2 and 1 had a water pump right at their site. Group site 1 was right by the bathrooms and the public picnic area. I would not recommend booking site 1 for those reasons. The public picnic area was insanely crowded on Saturday. Many people were coming to the group campsites to use our picnic tables and lay out blankets for their picnics. Additional signage at the group camp areas saying it is closed to the public day picnic peoples would be appreciated. The five parking spots were right in front of our campsite. It was easy to store food in our vehicles and go back and forth. The bathrooms were right across the parking area. It was easy to travel to the bathrooms in the middle of the night. The bathrooms were clean. The toilet seat was stainless steal and there was plenty of toilet paper the whole time were were there. A little bit down the road is the Loft Mountain Camp store that sold milkshakes, ice cream, camping supplies, souvenirs, wood, and food. The prices for the food were very fair! This area also had coin operated showers, bathrooms, and laundry. There is the loft Mountain Wayside Station that sells souvenirs and there is a restaurant selling burgers, salads, bbq sandwiches and such as cheap prices. The food was delicious. The restaurant and store was insanely busy on the Saturday we went.

Dundo campsite 1 is very exposed with few trees for shade, so our free-standing awning for shade was a life-saver. Small flying insects were very prevalent, which I have not experienced in recent past years. We all got them in our eyes and noses over the weekend. Very annoying. Besides that, the site was clean, basic restroom was close, near boxes and trash receptacles were in great working order!

Beautiful! One complaint: the grass needed to be mowed at our site

we had a lovely time camping here but i would say the most difficult thing was there were so many people trying to set up at the picnic tables and with covid it was super important for us to only with our group. some sort of sign would be really helpful so that we didnt constantly have to ask people to leave or that this site was reserved. the site next to ours had people who were refusing to leave .

Really great, secluded campsite in Shenandoah. Beautiful, shaded area close enough to Loft Mountain that you can buy anything you need. It's small for a group site, and there's no potable water, but has two big bear boxes per site with plenty of shade. Sprint network got enough coverage for texts and some calls.

We love coming to this group site yearly. The seclusion from other sites is a big key in our choice to stay here. Highly recommend.

Great place for a group with plenty of room for tents and lots of table space. I would definitely return if I needed a group site in the park in the future. Unfortunately the water in the campground wasn't potable during our Labor Day weekend stay but it wasn't too hard to treat it or go up the road 3 miles for potable water from the Loft Mountain campground.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
