So disappointed in our stay here. From all the advertising for this campground we were excited that we could ride our UTVs from our campsite. But when we went to ride we were sad to find out that this was a motocross campground. No where in the online of recreation.gov was this mentioned. We booked for two nights, the evening we arrived and the next evening after we rode but unfortunately we couldnt ride at all so we left the campground after just one night. So disappointed in how this campground is advertised. The campground host was no help to us. When we went to talk to him about maybe where could ride in the area, he was clueless. Bathrooms were filthy and garbage dumpsters were locked. Everyone just piled up garbage near the dumpster. I would not recommend this campground to any person riding a UTV.

We loved our stay at Alto Pit OHV Campground. We had a nice pull-through site that was somewhat secluded. While we visited, we drove up to Cottonwood, Sedona and the Grand Canyon. In Prescott, the lakes are very nice. We would definitely return if in the area again.

our experience is limited to a reservation site only. We had reservation for site #6 for 4 nights but when we got there about 3 pm there, the site was already occupied. We contacted the site camp manager and what we heard was "I told him he has to leave today" and "he is gone now for the day". Not sure what was going on in that campsite and the rest of sites were very uneven and unmarked if the were occupied/open/FCFS, etc, we left the campground and headed to White Spar and had a very good luck there

Every other spot (aside from spot 3) was clear of twigs and rocks in order to lay our tent down properly. We had to shovel and axe down a bunch of area in order to setup.

Andrew was a pretty cool host, definitely will be back. Despite the over eight freezing temperatures, my family & I had a great time.

Site 7 is part of the parking lot. Couldn't find the site sign, no fireplace grill, barely enough room on a sloped patch of ground for a small tent. During the day, lots of OHV noise, but it's an OHV campground. After sunset, when daytime riders leave, nice & quiet

We had to pay a homeless guy 20 bucks to leave our reserved campsite after no one would answer any of the listed numbers for the site.

Has a really exotic look to it with the choppy groves of tall pines, some campsites have great mountain views too

Great clean campground for the family. Camp Host is wonderful and keeps the grounds clean and educates everyone on the rules, which is very appreciated.

We have stayed at Alto Pit Campground many times in the past years. We ride bicycles, use 4x4s, and ATV's, which this camp accommodates well and there is the accompanying sounds of motors revving off and on throughout the day. It's fun! We were out riding much of the day and would come back to eat, relax, and sleep. This time unfortunately, was not as pleasant as many others had been. Two things had adverse affects on our experience. The first was loud partying right in the center campsite past quiet hours Friday and Saturday nights. We have found this to be a more widespread problem in campgrounds around the Southwest. Although we love families and people gathering to have a good time together, we also love nature and feel that is a large part of what most people seek camping. It is difficult to find a peaceful respite in camp when loud music and campers shouting above the music lasts on into the night (from dark until after 10pm). The other downer was bits of trash all around camp, under almost any tree or bush and especially under the picnic table. For some reason, trash is not being picked up and disposed of either by the former campers or the hosts. Of course we picked up the trash and endured the loud campers best possible, but that is not as it should be. Folks, please be respectful if you are camping and think about making nature the focus if at all possible. Thanks!

Super friendly host greeted us shortly after arriving to make sure we were all set for the night. It had been snowing all day and was going to get really cold overnight. We appreciated that because we had been dry camping for days and ran down our battery but we were able to run the generator until 10pm, make a nice dinner and stay warm until almost morning. We woke to a white blanket of snow everywhere. Host came by and told us to have a safe trip. Recommend highly!

My wife and I were camped at the Alto Pit campground to access mountain biking trails in the Spencer Basin area just across the highway from the campground. Access to the trail system was available through a large culvert under the road so we didn't have to deal with vehicle traffic. We used Trail Forks for route finding and had a great time biking the area.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
