My stall was not clean when I arrived. I cleaned it into 2 piles outside the stall but did not haul it away.

While being required to clean your stalls before leaving, I would suggest, strongly suggest, you bring your own manure forks. The ones provided are broken or the handles are splintered. Some nice wheelbarrows are available.

Nice quiet area the host we had for this was excellent the best that we've had for a long time.

No functional high line at C26 made it difficult to get me horses out of the corral to clean it. Especially after a thunderstorm flooded the area.

This is a horse camp with no host. It is a free for all right now. Non horse campers just pulling in and taking any spot they want. People on quads driving and speeding through camp. This is not safe!!!!!!!

Trail access is just as good as ever. We enjoyed seeing the deer and hearing wild turkeys. Lots of birdwatching too. All camp amenities were in good condition. The camp was without a host, and no bags were provided for manure collection as has been the case in the past. We had no other issues.

Groom Creek was very clean even though there was no camp host. Very proud of my fellow horse back riders.

We had an excellent time with Backcountry Horsement of Central Arizona. The food was good and JC's cowboy poetry was terrific. This is a wonderful group of folks and we completely enjoyed the pavilion at Groom Creek loop C!

The grounds were clean and the pavilion worked great for our catered BBQ.

Joe and Nancy do a great job as campground hosts. He was very helpful when I needed assistance installing a new propane tank since I could not lift it into place. I also appreciate the fact that he checks on the campground several times a day. Trails were great and it only rained one day. I only camp at 37C because the site is perfect for me being able to back up close to the corral since I have an electric pump for water for my horse. However, when it rains the corral gets washed out a lot and water stands in it. Last year, Steve came down and dug a trench which isn't there anymore. I also appreciate that there is always an adequate supply of garbage bags for manure.

This is a beautiful campground in the Spruce mountains. The trails are endless. When riding horseback, shoes or boots are a must as many of the trails are very rocky. The restrooms are clean and so are each of the campsites. The campsites are large. Each one has a pen and a high line, which can accommodate two horses. There are many opportunities to see deer, birds, wild turkeys, and squirrels. Overall, this is a wonderful campground.

The hosts were perfect. The camp was clean and well supplied. My first time there and I am trying to figure out when I can come and visit again ASAP.

I really enjoy camping at Groom Creek. The camp hosts, Joe and Nancy, are so helpful. They go above and beyond to take care of the campers and our needs. The trails leaving camp are endless. They are beautiful with tall trees, plenty of shade on hot summer days, and lots of wildlife. The campsites are huge. I easily fit my 33 foot LQ trailer in the pull-through drive and have plenty of room to spare. I highly recommend this place.

Camp sites are set up well for horses and humans. Access to water and camp restrooms was excellent from where our group was. Trails and trail maps could be updated to be more clear, but we had a great time on the trails regardless. Only complaint is the flies.... they are more than abundant and I'm not sure if this is normal or unusual for the area. Going again this weekend!

Love staying at Groom Creek! Joe and Nancy are excellent hosts, always welcoming and helpful. Facilities are always well kept. Great get away from the desert to the cool pines.
@Adrianne09364C · Camped on Jul 7, 2023 at Campsite #11
Facility was nice, I have been there before. However, the grounds keeper was completely out of hand. Driving by 6+ times a day. Always having something to say. Reminding us to clean up the hay when we clearly were aware. We had not even checked out yet and he stopped us on our way in and told us again for probably the 6th time in 48 hours. Did not feel like a vacation and will definitely look for other places to camp.

First time here, and I couldn’t be happier. The sites were spacious and clean. The stall was in excellent shape, and a high line available as well. The trails are well marked. Definitely looking forward to going back.
@TimC9142347 · Camped on Jun 22, 2023 at Campsite #28
The campground is in excellent condition and well maintained. The Hosts are very nice and polite, they also do a great job keeping the campground in great shape. We were there in June from the 22nd - 126th and had an excellent stay. Tim C

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
