Sarge Creek Campground, Ponca City, OK

Sarge Creek Campground in Kay county is located 1 hr 9 min north of Stillwater, OK with an elevation of 1,056 feet. There are a total of 52 campsites. The campground is normally open from mid March to the end of October. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 40 and 60 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. All sites have electric and water hookups. Fees range from $22.00 to $100.00. Some amenities include dump station, boat ramp, amphitheater, flush toilets. Activities include boating, fishing, horseback riding, hiking trails, floating sports.

we usually camp at Osage but decided to try a great spot at Sarge creek,the spot was great,what surprised me was on our 3rd day a boil order for the water was posted on the gateshack,no one around the park to ask in the 3 spots occupied by the entrance there,was not too concerned because we have a water filter but had used the water from bathroom sink for brushing teeth and washing face and hands,we always take bottled water to drink for us and our little dog,couple days later feeling ill,called the corps office no answer,left msg,no response,finally called Tulsa office and got a call back a couple days later from someone,this is not acceptable,in the first place there were less than a dozen campers in the entire park and would of taken less than 30 minutes for gate attendants to notify everyone,not everyone leaves the park while camping to see a posted notice,very disappointed in response time from the Corps of Engineer office as well,I did learn from them that there is an ongoing issue with water at Sarge and Washunga so beware campers !!!

Had an amazing time the campgrounds are all incredibly maintained. Clean and the park keepers are very friendly and very helpful.. we will most definitely be back!!

Kaw Lake and sarge creek campground is a nice place...very clean....it was my dad's favorite place to fish...

Really spacious and great view. The burrs in the grass are pretty rough on the dogs paws, though.

Great place to stay. Very clean restrooms. I tent camped and had no issues. Highly recommended and there is a boat ramp.

1) Fresh water was disgusting. It was extremely brown to the point it almost stopped up our auxiliary water filter. 2) The shower houses are in need of ventilation. They get extremely hot during the day and do not cool off at night. 3) It would be nice if 50 amp service was available.

30 amp electric needs to be upgraded to 50amp service. The camp host and volunteers are excellent.the boat dock is damaged like to see it back in the water. The area has been sprayed for weeds but the stickers are terrible

Overall we had a great time camping. We had light rain about 3 days, but it didn’t hinder us from enjoying getting together with our friends. The shaded area was wonderful. Campsites we’re very nice. The only thing I wasn’t pleased with was the picnic tables were on the back side of our campsites on the side we were on.

You need to work on the boat ramp...Can't load a boat because it's to shallow..That sand bar on the one side is no good..

We stayed in the equestrian camp. All was good but there were lots of stickers, need to spray the grass! Also the trails needed to be marked much better! Good dump station, clean lots. Easy registration online.
