Hunter Cove Campground in Harlan county is located 1 hr 38 min southwest of Grand Island, NE with an elevation of 1,971 feet. There are a total of 128 campsites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of May to the end of September. 108 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 30 and 85 feet. All sites are currently reservable. 7 sites have electric and water hookups. 73 sites have electric hookups. There is a fee of $18.00 per night.

I used to work there as a custodian. And the people that took care of the bathrooms were extremely clean. Just like I would have left it. Kent and Karen are the best keeping it running smooth.

The camp host is awesome!!! They go above & beyond to help! So friendly and run a great camp! I hope you keep the FCFS sites! Was very sad that the ones at Methodist when away!!! So quiet, peaceful and clean. We enjoy walking the area putting our kayaks in at the old low water boat dock spot. The path at Methodist Cove is a favorite of ours as well. Love the beautiful sky at night when you get away from the campground cleanup crew campsite. It would be great if they could make an area for putting in kayaks along the edge of the reservoir.

Site 2 was decent. Could use a bit more gravel in the low spot. Park staff do an excellent job of keeping fish cleaning station and dump area clean. Excellent park for walking.

We were headed back home and needed a campsite for 1 night, everywhere I looked, they all required a 2 night stay. Hunter Cove is a little gem in Southern Nebraska - beautiful view of the lake and great amenities. We'll keep it on our "visit again" list the next time we're in Nebraska and need a campsite!!

I've camped below the dam many times throughout my life but this was my first time camping at Hunter Cove. The sites were clean and secluded and offered a variety of hook-ups and facilities (bathroom, water, showers, etc.). The view of the lake was wonderful and the site is close to any services you might need in Republican City or Alma.

Wonderful campground. Campground host is fantastic and very welcoming. The bathhouse and show cleaning lady does a marvelous job. The bathrooms are the cleanest we have ever come across in our travels.

Love the bathroom/showers, and the water/dump station was really handy. Nice campground. Sadly, we were camped right next to the camp hosts, and they have LED string lights around their patio that were bright and didn't turn off all night long. It was so bright in our camper because of that and it was hard to sleep.
