Badin Lake is a great place for fishing, hiking, canoeing, camping, and taking a relaxing weekend trip with the family. The bathrooms are pretty clean but there are not enough shelves to place your clothes in the shower stall so make sure to bring waterproof bags. This is a great place to visit when you have free time and I would come back for an 8th time but watch out for racoons and stray cats!

Great space to enjoy nature and water activities. The scenery is gorgeous and the ambiance is cozy. The fall leaves were especially beautiful. Campsites are clean, bathrooms are accessible, and water is also pretty easy to access.

The Badin Lake campgrounds are very well maintained. The bathrooms were very clean. Going in the fall after school starts again is great and it was relatively quiet. There is lots to do in the area. The only reason it got 4 stars was that I could not find any camp wood anywhere. Usually there are people selling it or the park has stacked up dead wood they have collected around the grounds. Only other issue is there are very few sites that actually have a view of the water. Book EARLY or you will never get one of them.

Clean restrooms were nice, but please fix the metal door it makes a noise that reverberates throughout the loop. Also my buddy was missing a couple of items when we left? Could be a forgetful memory but they were small expensive items like ear buds and such? Coincidence? Also had someone punch his tent in the middle of the night and shine flashlight into it! Interesting! Also had a guy on our site down at the lake who didnt ask to share the spot when he had his own lake access spot. Guess our view was better? But we had great sunrises and sunsets at site 14. We would go back but would tweak a few things for safety reasons. Sure would have liked to see park ranger drive through at some point.

Horrible from the moment I arrived until my wife and I left a day early. Barking dogs, screaming children, gravel tent pad, and generator running until 11.00 pm. I bent 4 iron stakes trying to guy out the tent. I finally gave up and tied the tent to the trees. Campsite 09 had a rusted-out grill so I asked the camp host to move to 14. the tent pad there sloped so I pitched the tent on the high end. The ground at that site was also so hard I finally got 2 stakes in the ground. The Loud couple next to me didn't quite down until after midnight and it sounded like World War three with acorns hitting the tent all night. The next morning early I packed up and moved back to 09. Again, all day long dogs barking, kids screaming and people walking through the campsite along the lake. This is supposed to be a tent only campground. Not so. RVs with generators going well after 10:00 when quite time was listed by campground rules. I can't remember when I have had such a bad camping experience. Will not be back or recommend this campground to anyone.

Badin Lake Campground is well maintained with showers and toilets(clean) but no electric(no big deal for us).My grandson and I fished for two days catching bream from our canoe.The lower campground has closer access to the lake.A beautiful spot.We also go off-road Jeeping in the park.They have trails from beginner to bring on the rock crawling beast levels.

This is a gem in a hiding place. The best experience for us was hanging in the water of the access point

I hardly got any sleep. Someone in the next site ran a generator all night and said they were told by the person they made the reservation with that it was ok to run it all night. When they did turn it off during the day the whole campground cheered! Then it was back on at night!!
@MichaelB697476 · Camped on Aug 23, 2024 at Campsite #4
Neighboring campers had their generator on all day and all night. No park employee was ever seen doing rounds of the campground, so we ended our weekend early to avoid sleeping to the loud sound of that generator

Site #13 is the go-to spot for lake access. Very clean campsite, 2 tables, and perfect trees for hammocking.

We have been coming to this campground and this particular site for the past four years. It has just been going downhill each year. The tent sites are hard and rocky - so hard that you cant even hammer in tent pegs. We did not see the site manager the entire three days we were there. The ladies toilet was not working all three days. Shower water too hot to use in July. On our third night there a group of people rolled into the site next to us at 3 AM and were extremely loud and disruptive. We werent able to go back to sleep until 5 AM. Then we were woken again at 6:30 by the same group of people, making loud vomiting noises, laughing obnoxiously, and yelling to each other across the campsite. Still no sign of the campground host. Several surrounding guests were very annoyed and even ended up packing up and leaving early because of them. When my husband mentioned to one of the women that they had woken us up, her baby daddy went on a tirade for 45 minutes about how he was going to physically assault my husband, including threatening that he had a gun. All of this in front of our children. We never did see the camp post. Unfortunately until this campground gets better management I dont think well be coming back.

Lots of great sites with Lake view or lake access. Road leading in is pot hole filled, drive slow.

The bathrooms could use an update and more cleaning.

Loved this area! Our campground host was great. The bathrooms were decently clean (missing a few tiles in the showers and you'll be sharing the space with a few creepy crawlies) and there are multiple water spouts for drinking. The waterfront site we stayed at was lovely and semi private with a direct path to the water. Lots of different trail options, each site has a picnic table, firepit, pole, and dedicated tent area. Sunsets/rises are gorgeous on the water, looks like a good place to paddle as well.

Campsite was great and lake was stunning. The trash in the lake, carpet remnant and old tire, werent as nice. The weather wasnt great so we had to leave early, but we enjoyed our one night and hope to be back soon.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
