Water wasn't really available, the hand pump said potable but was very orange in color. Sites were nice, but the price point seemed high in comparison to other sites we stayed at on the same trip (Cougar Creek Mt Ranier was $20). Substantial highway noise was a surprise. Finding camping options near Seattle seems tough.

Terrible campground, it's so close to the highway all we could hear is the super loud noise of I-90. Definitely not what we're looking for in camping. If it wasn't for the overwhelming noise it would be nice given how close it is to Bellevue/Issaquah.

Locals already know this (Im sure), but its crazy that such a wooded pleasant FS campground exists within an hour of the largest city in the PNW. We were able to take a quick hike along a portion of the PCT a short distance away, and make a day out of Seattle without staying in town. Toilets didnt smell the finest although werent filthy, and you are advised to bring you own water (mineral full hand pump located at the entrance). Served our purpose for a summer weekday excursion.

The campground is beautiful, it is spoiled by I90. They run parallel to each other. Its a steep walk to the river and the riverfront is extremely rocky. Its a beautiful campground but we wont be coming back. It makes sense why reservations were still open when we booked.

We stayed in early June. After driving about a mile on a gravel road filled with potholes, we came to a cozy campground, with river and forest sites. The campground overall is fairly quiet but the sites closest to I-90 can hear traffic. So we moved from the river to a forest site. It is a great location close to many trails and 8 miles from the summit. Vault toilets were kept clean. We walked the trail off the campground, but the direction got confusing at one point. Overall a lovely campground worth the gravel road trek.

The campground is fair, but the road to it is so badly potholed that I would not recommend staying there unless you have a four-wheel drive vehicle with good ground clearance. We did not go back for the second day of our reservation due to the road conditions.

The sound of freeway traffic is overwhelming from the moment you open the car door. Would not recommend for this reason if you are hoping for a relaxing and quiet getaway.

This site was great! Lots of room, secluded, etc. Only downfall is the water out of the water station was very brown and had debris in it. There was no camp host that came by, so we were unable to address this with them.

The campground is nice. The road going to the campground is rough so take your time. Lots of highway noise throughout the campground so if you are looking for quiet go somewhere else. We were warned of thieves when we arrived but did not have any issues.

This is a magical place. So removed from the freeway that is so close.The road in is a major challenge, but we had no regrets once we arrived.

We had a terrible experience here. The campground itself is very beautiful. However, my partner and I paid $40 for a reservation only to arrive with people already set up in our site. We had to go home because we didn't want to take someone else's site, and the camp host wasn't there(as per usual). We called a couple days later to request a refund, to which we were denied. The campsite is great, but don't even bother making a reservation online-- even if you pay it's not promised that's what you'll get.

Bring water!! The water is a bit brown color, Im sure its safe to drink but I choose not to because of the color. The bathroom smelt so bad we gagged when using them. You are really close to the highway so you hear it but its almost like white noise. Campsites are really clean and well spaced apart.

Our campsite, which I reserved months ahead of time due to it's specific location and size, was given to someone else. The hosts told me to pic from a handful of other sites. Two of those sites were already taken. The others were not large enough to accommodate my party and further from the amenities I chose the original spot for. At one point while waiting for the hosts to show me a different spot, an off the leash dog came up and began biting at me. Following that, the hosts told me to take the next offered spot or they were going to call the sherrif and have me removed. The final spot they showed me was the worst of all. At that point we decided to leave and had to camp in an undeveloped site on the side of the road. Despite leaving, the sherrif was called. He was very professional and understood my side of the situation. At that time I learned that the camper in my spot and the hosts had a previously established relationship. Which shows me that their friendship took precedent over my paid reservation. 1 time a year I have an opportunity to take a vacation with my boys. I make every effort to plan this trip to make it the best experience I can. This was an extremely disappointing lack of professionalism on the part of the camp hosts. I've never had anything like this happen before. I will definitely not be camping at or recommending this location in the future. Actually, it will be quite the opposite.

Campsite did not have a level spot for a tent. Dumpster was overflowing and really detracted from the surroundings.
@GingerB3507596 · Camped on Aug 6, 2023 at Campsite #4
Potable water from pump was rather discolored. I suggest bringing your own drinking water. Noise from freeway is quite audible. Some might need earplugs. Restrooms (vault style) were fairly clean. Campground itself is very cozy. Many spots have good privacy.

I wish I could give zero stars. Not a picky person but there is really nothing you can do and no way you can see the brighter side of things when you drive three hours to a campsite, get there at 11pm and someone else is already set up in your spot, with alcohol and cough syrup bottles littered everywhere. We had no where to stay. Hotels in the area are way more expensive than my budgeted 40$ to camp. Camp hosts were unavailable/unresponsive. I will never trust to try and stay here again. We were lucky we found somewhere else to stay with relatively little hassle.

This was a nice campground. Clean and kept up.Location is convenient to the highway if you are traveling.However it is right next to I-90 and VERY loud traffic noise.
@JadyC2FDC928BA · Camped on Jul 19, 2023 at Campsite #17
It was clean, we had an enjoyable time. Yes, you can hear the traffic but it didnt bother us. There are also bear proof food cabinets at each site which was nice surprise.Plenty of access to the river, couple of nice places to dip your feet in to cool off. Multiple trails close by to drive to and was able to easily get more ice. The current host does have firewood bundles for $8 each cash/cheque.

Extremely loud road/traffic noise from massive interstate literally across the river Had a hard time sleeping. Needed earplugs Beautiful forrest and campsite though
@CristenC18BFE2 · Camped on Jul 7, 2023 at Campsite #27
Lots of noise from the interstate, more than half our campsite was full of logs and branches from a newly chopped-down tree so there was no room for our tents

Beautiful campground. Very quiet, nice shade, wonderful veiws

Great location 50 minutes out from Seattle. River right next to the site. Clean.

Lovely stay at Sites 002 and 003. We had two cars, one for each site, but we were able to fit both into 002 which worked well to string a tarp up between the two cars. It was rainy the first day, but that added to the experience. The vault toilets were decently clean, and there was toilet paper. I would recommend bringing a headlamp inside because it is a bit dark in there. The site had a picnic table and a fire pit. We were able to fit three tents, two 2-person, and a 4 person, in site 002 to create a cozy neighborhood. There was a little walking trail in the campground. Neighbors were friendly or were polite and kept to themselves. From our sites’ locations, we did not hear the I-90 traffic. There was a lovely river, South Fork Snoqualmie River, that we heard and it was pleasant white noise. And an occasional vehicle driving quickly on the gravel road that leads in and out of the campground. The road coming in to the campground was good, few potholes, and minimal washboarding. Our two sites had little reservation cards with our names on it when we arrived. Definitely would stay here again.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
