The campground itself was very nice, and the proximity to some nice day hikes is wonderful. Taking a dip afterwards is off the chart nice! Bring something for your feet as the rocky bottom makes getting in and out a little rough. There is a hand-pump well in the campground labeled "potable", but I thought the water was rusty looking, so I would recommend bringing your own water.

We had an amazing time at Shannon Creek Campground! The lake is absolutely stunningperfect for swimming, kayaking, or just relaxing by the shore. The campground itself was clean, quiet, and very family-friendly. We brought 10 kids with us, and they had an absolute blast! Whether they were playing by the water or exploring the campground, there was never a dull moment. Its a great spot for families looking for a peaceful, scenic getaway. Well definitely be back!

Campsite is not entirely flat for a tent, and on the smaller side (my 3 person tent did fit). Vault toilet was clean and well-stocked. Quick walk down to get to the lakeshore.

Beautiful spot and not overly crowded. Only thing to note is we could hear the road traffic quite well from site 4, but that was only an issue on Friday night; Sat night was peaceful.

I stayed here 3 times this year with friends and family. The camp host, Jane, made our multiple stays the best that they have ever been. She made us feel at home, kept the bathrooms and campsites in amazing shape, and was very kind. We cant wait to come back and hope that she is the host next year as well!

The camp sites were a little smaller than we expected, but they were clean and well maintained. The camp host was super great and answered all our questions. Overall a great experience.

The campground was clean, spacious, easy to use. The campers were friendly as was the host. The boat launch was perfect for my rowboat.

The campground was absolutely quiet (mid-week, June) and we could hear lots of birds and the beautiful sound of wind in the trees. Heads up: the fresh water requires using an old-fashioned pump, which was really fun but maybe not great for everyone's ability. It doesn't require a lot of muscle, but a fair amount of range of motion.

We camped at site # 15 for two nights. The site was ok, although the tent area was a bit small and could use some leveling. Great weather, good hiking and swimming.

Quiet and beautiful

Wonderful campground, wonderful site. The host was fantastic and very friendly and helpful. I was shocked at the number of empty campsites while I was there - sites that had the 'reserved' sign in place. I suppose folks just book a site and then never show - something like 17 of the 20 sites showed 'reserved' but sat empty the entire time I was there. Odd, but I like peace and quiet so I wasn't complaining! What few other campers there were were quiet and respectful. Overall, a spectacular few days in a beautiful spot that felt right out of a movie set!

This was a pretty far drive for us and the campsite its self was good but the campground was pretty lame. The swimming area was tiny and the prevailing wind made the water choppy. Overall it was fine- I just think there are options closer to home that could offer a similar experience. Hiking nearby is easy to access and very beautiful.

The campsites are hard to tell about on the internet. Many have sloped parking areas that are not suitable for camping in a truck camper. This should be made clear on the website. For example, sloped parking area, not suitable for camper, trailer or van. The camp host is very nice and does a great job.
@AdamG5394164 · Camped on May 17, 2024 at Campsite #17
The sites are extremely small and tilted and the host is completely unhelpful. One of the two tents from our group was on the site next to us (which was free the whole weekend) for a single night and she had the attitude to charge us despite booking for 6 people. We were at site 17 (the marking on them so is completely wrong) which is next to a car park with bunch of rednecks running their generators. Absolutely do not recommend this place and will not be coming back.

Campsite was clean, close to toilet. Other campers respectful of quiet hours.

This is a gorgeous camp site! However, on the map it shows 20 being next to the picnic area and it is actually not, sites 19 and 20 are mixed up on their camp ground map. This site does not have access to the water but it does overlook the water, its just too high up to get into the water from the site. There is also not a water source near. There is a hand pump well in poop 1 of this campground, great for dishes, but the water is not clean. Bring your own drinking water. Very nice tent pad! Big enough for our 6 person tent. It is pretty close to site 19, so if you have a big group, get both 19 and 20 and then you will have water access for kayaks.

Nice, clean facility!
@Alexander70834 · Camped on Jul 28, 2023 at Campsite #14
Nice site near the entrance of the campground. Long driveway which is nice for parking a boat trailer and vehicle.
@Alexander70834 · Camped on Jul 28, 2023 at Campsite #20
Lots of sun, but a breeze. Sites 19 & 20 are backwards from how the reservation site and map has in. 19 is closer to the water where 20 is closer to the host site.

When I arrived somone stole my spot. Camp host wasn't available at campground. Had to drive to other campgrounds looking for help wasting my day.

Great base for sockeye fishing, beautiful campground, we saw a bear there to

Its insane to me that people had bad things to say about this site my partner and I walked around and this is probably the best site on the campground! Not too far/close from the bathroom and right across from a water spigot. Only about a ~8 minute walk to the lake. The site itself is quite spacious, has a beautiful view of Mt. Shuksan and even a bit of the lake. Its tucked in the corner so youre surrounded by conifers and brush, lots of privacy. We were visited by several chipmunks, rabbits and stellar jays. The one downside of the campground (overall more so than our specific site) is that the lake access area really is more of a boat launch/parking lot than swimming area. People definitely were swimming and floating (ourselves included) but it felt like we were in the way of the boats coming in and out. It would be nice if there was a designated beach!

Camp site is good, site 11 pad area is a bit small for a 10 by 10 tent. A lot of bugs so make sure you have repellent
@CieraEEE7BC457 · Camped on Jul 10, 2023 at Campsite #11
Site 11 was secluded and partly shaded! Lots of birds and few mosquitoes. Only down sides were the lumpy ground and the noise from being next to the water station.
@MichaelM541440 · Camped on Jul 9, 2023 at Campsite #9
I really love this site. Particularly when fishing for sockeye from a kayak. It's closest to the fishing grounds, quiet, not overrun with boats, and generally speaking, quite secure. Plan to come back here every year.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
