Great location for visiting different sites around the area such as Spruce Knob, Seneca Rocks and Dolly Sods. The campground was well maintained and offered a quiet stay. The only thing we didn't like was the push-button knob for the showers. I know it is for conservation, but it stinks having to keep pushing the button multiple times.

Nice camp sites as well as the shower house. Shower house was clean and that is always nice. Camp ground staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived after dark and were unable to fill our freshwater tank but took care off it in the morning. If fly fishing only is your game you are so close to the North Fork of the South Branch of the Potomac River catch and release area. No cell service in the campground so you can enjoy Mother Nature uninterrupted.

Super clean tent sites. Immaculately maintained. Clean and stocked bathrooms. Beautiful view of Seneca rocks. Nice picnic tables. Very friendly people everywhere.

Camp hosts were quick to check on us. They gave ideas about where to get cell reception outside of the campground. The hike to the platform overlooking the rocks was awesome. Beware of the 10 switchbacks going up. Restrooms were spotless!

I was very impressed with this US forest recreation area campground. Better than some public campgrounds I have used. Seneca Rocks campsites are great and very clean We stated at #18 on B loop. Nicely maintained gravel pad for tent. Nice picnic table and fire ring with a flip-over grill. Also a post with hooks for drying towels or just hanging things. Spacious sites. Had room also for a 10x10 pop-up canopy tent to cover the picnic table in case it rained the one day. 10-15 feet of woods between sites to give a little bit of privacy. We walked the whole B loop and I would stay at any of them. All seem very similar with the description above. Also, the restrooms are good. One shower, one john, one urinal and one sink. Staff did a nice job maintaining them to keep them clean and presentable. Also, outside of the building there was a faucet to wash dishes.

The campground was very nice! It was pretty quiet, a little road noise, but nothing crazy. The bathrooms were very clean. I like to camp, but need access to flushing toilets and a shower. This had both. The campsite we had, Loop B#17 was very nice. The neighbor to our right was basically in plain view, but again, it was fine. Depends on your preference. Wood is kinda pricey but we didnt find anywhere else nearby with it. We camped from out of state, so we had to get it on site. Lots to see and do in the area! No cell service, which is fine. There is WiFi down at the general store.

Well maintained campground with clean bathrooms, flush toilets, and showers. Loved the evening programming on Saturdays in the campground's amphitheater and the campground's proximity to Seneca Rocks. Our site (Loop B, Site 22) was spacious and secluded from the other sites.
@EmilyS1613279 · Camped on Aug 11, 2024 at Campsite #24
This campsite was so quiet, the showers had hot water, and firewood was accessible at the center of the camp site. If you arrive later than the check in window, the rangers place a card on your campsite to designate your spot. Make sure to download offline maps before you get to this area! No service at all!

Campground and camp facilities were clean and quiet. Camp host was friendly and offered information about the area, to include free live music at the campground that night. Great place for base camp while exploring Seneca Rocks, Dolly Sods, Spruce Knob and surrounding area.

Quiet campground and good facilities. Lots of activities close by and Yokums Store and the visitor center provide a good place for ice, supplies, and a Wi-Fi check-in. This is not a complaint because we know its nature, but more of a heads up to visitors: we had a lot of poison ivy at our site. Make sure you know what it looks like! Definitely would go back.

The Campground was very nice! not the most up to date, but in VERY close proximity to Seneca Rocks and the staff maintaining the grounds were phenomenal!

We love this campground. The sites are clean and fairly level considering the mountainous terrain. The campground is quite peaceful. Some sites are well-spaced apart from others, while others are really close to each other.

Great place to spend a few days. Easy in and out. spaces are well shaded with plenty of space/privacy. Hiking Spruce Mountain and Spruce Lake was great. The swimming hole at the north end of the National Forest Parking lot was a refreshing reward after hiking Seneca Rocks.
@AdrianeWAFCF83 · Camped on Jun 21, 2024 at Campsite #18
We really enjoyed the campground. I would've rated this particular site 5 out of 5, but this is directly across from a dumpster. People were constantly slamming the dumpster door and we constantly were getting whiffs of garbage smell. This site is right across from the bathroom, but we still felt like we had privacy. All in all, the issue was the dumpster.

Seneca Rocks is one of those remarkable landmarks that is worth hanging out near for a full week like we did. It looks different every time of day, with sun, clouds, at noon, at dusk. We were so comfortable at Seneca Shadows campground - really clean and pretty, a good amount of wildlife from Io moths to American toads to chippies and bunnies. And deer on all the roads nearby.The swimming hole in town was excellent for our dog to cool off and play fetch, and for us too! And the hike up to their rocks is amazing - we made it halfway. We drove all over Monongahela Forest looking at sights, and LOVED Blackwater Falls State Park, too - really good hikes there. Wow, West Virginia, you are amazing! And thank you Seneca Shadow and Yokums for making our week a really relaxed time.

Very pleasant campground. Camp managers are very active, keeping it well maintained
@RubyD5310064AA · Camped on May 17, 2024 at Campsite #71
Extremely well-maintained campsite - management visited us three times during a two-day stay to check in and offer advice, firewood, etc. Site #71 is easily the best site for walk-in tents if it's not a rainy day - very secluded and cozy, if a bit of a walk from the car. However, it tends to flood on rainy days, so if rain is expected recommend choosing a site upon arrival or picking one on higher ground.

Nice site and very clean and well maintained campground. Not much to do in the campground but, a great central location for exploring the area.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
