Campsite was clean and well arranged. We liked the movable grill over the fire pit which allowed us to grill over either wood or charcoal. Tent pad was level though the crushed rock was a little hard. Flush toilets and bath house worked well and were kept clean. Trash container was nearby. Host and hostess were friendly and helpful. The had removed trees from the septic field for the flush toilets so that stargazing was excellent. I would recommend this campground.

Nice little campground. The road in was a little small. The route to 28 is a little easier than 220.

We had a great visit to Big Bend campground 9/13 - 9/16! The camp hosts, Debbie and Jean, were some of the friendliest and helpful people we have ever met. The campground was clean along with the showers (free!) and bathrooms (besides the spiders but that's camping). There is a water and dump station at the entrance of the campground with individual water spigots located around the campground. The only reason I'm giving my experience a 4/5 is because site number 3 is near a pit toilet which was smelly depending on which way the wind was blowing (but it was in pristine condition!). Of note, it takes about 20-30 minutes to drive the canyon road to the campground since it's windy, narrow and not paved at parts. Will definitely be back!

This is an absolutely wonderful campground! I've been coming here for years and it never ceases to amaze me how beautiful it is. There is lots of wildlife and a beautiful hiking trail around the campground. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. The whole campground is very clean, the host do a wonderful job at maintaining the facilities. Will absolutely be coming back for another stay.

Beware your arm muscles when the water is low and you go tubing! You might be sore for days!Lovely spot, remote, no cell signal ... what could be better?

Everything was excellent except the showers need updated. Peeling paint, stains and worn out. Please at least paint. Thank you

This experience was one of the worst. The noise lasted all night. People were moving in and setting up with their diesel trucks at 3am. I left a day early to avoid the noise. Forgiving the 40min drive down a background. The campground was soo noisy. Not relaxing at all.

What a fabulous camp ground! We loved everything about it! We had spot #2 right by the river and it was perfect, I can't recommend it enough. It was large enough for multiple tents and was envelope a canopy of trees, so lots of shade. There was a short trail leading down to the river, which was beautiful. There were three deer that seemed to live in are camping spot. We saw them everyday, they never were scared of us. They would walk up so close! We had no issues with the camp host, as others have mentioned, only seeing him once upon our first arrival. Our favorite part of camping here was tubing the river. We got right in at our spot and tuned down to the parking lot. You get out there and go to the right up the hill before getting back in the river to continue back to our camping spot. Not too long down that way you will find the rope swing on your right. Our 4 kids had a blast and it was plenty deep in that area. I can't recommend this campground enough!

Well maintained and well kept campground. Beautiful and a lot to do within a short distance. Quiet and semi private campsites. On site facilities were all within walking distance and in well working order.

Big Bend Campground WVa was a quiet clean place. The Hosts were friendly and helpful. The river runs close along the campsite with nice spots for children to wade and play. Next time we will bring tubes as it is perfect for floating.

This has become our most favorite campground. The campsites are not right on top of each other so you have enough space and you cant hear your neighbors every word.The hosts Debbie and Gene do a great job keeping the bathrooms and showers clean and are very helpful. We will be going back several times a year.

Big Bend is a national treasure that is only surpassed by the personalities and professional care of 2023 and 2024 campground hosts Debbie and Gene Bradshaw. They "take the extra step" to provide a positive camping experience by maintaining a safe, clean and stress free visit. You can count on them to be there when needed with their cordial attitudes and strong work ethic. They are adept at handling a variety of situations that arise because they are patient, understanding and fair. The campground is lucky to have them in charge and maintaining the dignity and special nature of Big Bend.

We camp in a van. Beautiful primitive campground. Riverside. Very quiet. Great campground host this year. Mid September visit. Water in river had been lowered allowing view and entrance among cabin size boulders. Highly recommend. Bring bug spray for just around sunset. Otherwise no bug problem.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
