Very nice, and clean.

The campground is actually very nicehoweverthere appears to be no regular staff or host who is taking care of the campground on a daily (or weekly) basis. Bathrooms are old and not cleaned on a daily basis. Sites are not cleaned and there was lots of deadfall and storm fall branches. Several of the sites look like they are being lived on permanently, which is in violation of the 14 day rule and lends a dumpy air to the campground.

Wonderful campsite.

The spots were clean and super large and accommodating. It is one of our favorite places to camp.

I love it there. Very peaceful and always has a breeze. The grass is kept cut and it has updated electrical and sewer hookups. Large and handicap pads. The only downsides are the restrooms could be updated and of course there is no fishing right now as they are still working on the dam

As a disabled person the ranger are very prejudice and violated my ADA and civil rights, and allow their friends to let viscous pitbull dogs rule loose off and don't abide by the visious dog and leash laws.... !!!!!! I tried to call Jackson main office but got no where.......

Upon arriving, there was no host to get any information from. Once you come in, there's only one sign that tells you which campsites are in which direction. Once you get down to the area, there are no more signs telling you where to go for whatever campsite you have. The roads are a bit narrow and could use some work. There are lots of bumps and cracks on the roads. The original campsite that I had reserved was not going to fit us, it was to small and I'm guessing the water pipe has a leak because there was a decent sized muddy puddle around it, so I had to switch campsites. Some sites are level, and others need some work. Pretty campground. Most of the campsites I've seen so far have water, electric and sewage, which is really nice! The bathrooms were pretty dirty when I walked in them earlier, not something I plan to use. I do understand trying to get yard work done early, however, weed eating next to my camper at 7:15 in the morning just was not okay. The water is extremely low, so there is no way to get to it from what I can tell. After doing some research, the Arkabulta dam needs repairs done, so they lowered the water to relieve some of the stress on the dam. It will take years for the repairs to be done, so I'm assuming that means no water during that time. Just a heads up for those who like to fish and those of us who like water activities. I've seen a lot of random vehicles coming through the campground. I'm not sure why, but it def gives me an uneasy feeling.

Overall nice, but a bit difficult to find a spot for a tent, since most spots are meant for RVs. We were woken up by the noise of several workers mowing the lawn at 7am, which is not quite ok for a relaxing camping experience out in nature. Pieces of grass got all over our tent and things left outside. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained.

My first COE campground and I was not disappointed! Even with construction and having arrived after hours, it was easy to find my space. I had a site with electric and water. I got settled quickly, took my dog for a walk and we encountered some deer! Hardly anyone there, so it was peaceful! I checked out the restroom/shower house, everything was clean and in good order. This is a route I have to travel often so I will be back again!

Nice campground close by Memphis (thus great place to stay with an RV or tent if you're planning for a day-trip into the city). Because it's located on a rather secluded location, it was a very quiet and relaxing campground. The only downside was that the restrooms were not properly cleaned and maintained.

Beautiful quite place to stop for a night.. our site has a water hookup :)

Nice place to camp, but don't like only being allowed to stay 14 days.Rangers drive thru occasionally,but since it's after 3:30 when I get to the site for the night, I don't see them. First time campers---READ AND UNDERSTAND THERULES! Know date in and dare out and plan accordingly.Phone number for lake office online is not manned or monitored. You only get a recording and instruction to leave voice mail which would be fine if there was someone there to return your call. Office closes at 3pm I believe.Park rules seem to be somewhat subjective. I've seen unleashed dogs running loose at Dub Patton with no repercussions.

Had a great site, too bad the lake is drained. Saw rangers, but no camp hosts.

Very nice campground only issue was no hot water in shower in our section. Next area over shower was great.
@BrianE1853408 · Camped on Apr 4, 2024 at Campsite #25
The power went out twice during our stay. It doesnt appear to have any camp hosts yet there does appear to have people who are permanent campers. Whether they are the camp volunteers or not I have no idea. But they did not appear to be camp hosts. Local sheriff deputy staying in the campground was nice to see. The showers by us had no hot water. Some shower houses completely closed and run down. The sites are nice, level, and spacious. Not the best COE weve been to, but not the worst. Glad we had our generator, some did not and were not happy.

No problems, great as usual. I was concerned that I never saw a ranger in 2 eeeks of being there

Great place to relax. Close to home and work. Well kept and friendly.

The campground was nice, only issue was a camp host having a pit bull outside without a leash or supervision. They were by the bathroom next to site 38 I think. Another camper at site 74 or 73 thought it was OK to have 2 small dogs loose and they nearly attacked me when I was walking my dog. Besides that it was a nice campground.

Beautiful campground, nicely spaced sites. Was mostly level for our rv. Our only complaint was that it snowed. We camped there in Jan, 2024.

COE Arkabutla Lake, South Abutment near Coldwater, MS. Great staff, volunteers and rangers make this place the beautiful place it is. The showers are a little dated but nice, clean, and hot. We were here in December, so it is not very populated. Nice and quiet. There was a failure in the dam so while it is being fixed the lake is drained but not completely. Still beautiful vistas. Hope we can get back here again. Site 37, full hook ups with nice concrete pad.

It was an ideal campsite. We like to be a little spread apart from neighbors and this was a good spot.

Very nice location. Bathroom need help and we had a good amount of picking up around the site before it felt usable.Wish website had better pictures so you could pick your site better. On Site 17 was closer to bathrooms(but not the nicest; middle loops had more updates) but the hook was bent to the ground and the table, grill, and fire ring were down off the parking pad. Had it rained or site 18 used too much water(water from their pump led down to 17area) we would have been in muddy mess. We called in to switch to site 20 which was much better. The service was very help and kind. For the future our top choices for sites would be 74; 56: 26Plan to buy firewood as not much to get around area.

Thanks to all our Supporting Members

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
