We only spent a couple of nights at the campground on our trip cross country. It was very remote and quiet. Just what we were looking for.

Very quiet campground with clean facilities .Close enough to but also far away enough from the city lights .

Sanitary pump lift station at our site wasnt working properly.Also seems like people are living at the campground for more permanent residence

This campground is under restoration and that made getting here challenging. The detour brings you in from a different direction, which made it impossible to tell in the dark which campground was which. We ended up in the other loop because the Dub sign is angled away from current traffic patterns. This campground was still great except for more mosquitos than Ive ever seen in my life. The sewer needs to be seated in the ground so its not uphill from release on the Rv/trailerAlso this is a REALLY tight loop so even if your Rv or trailer fits the allowed length for the site, the numbering is illogical and the turnabouts are way too tight for even a 28 trailer.

We had a nice stay, a place to stay on our way home and very reasonable.

Slope of the pad was near impossible to level our class a motorhome and there was next to zero verizone cell coverage...had to drive about 5 miles to be able to get a message out.

Lake was dry and very rough campers looked like they have been there for a while.
@MatthewW543034 · Camped on Apr 6, 2024 at Campsite #1
The location was very nice, but a site that was advertised as available for tent camping didnt have much of a spot to set up. We figured it out and enjoyed our night there, though!
@JamesH5225020 · Camped on Apr 5, 2024 at Campsite #4
Roads were closed, so it was difficult to get there. When we arrived, the place was a dump! It looked like many were living there full time. We did NOT feel safe to stay there! Couldnt get in touch with rec.gov on phone & no internet connection, so we kept driving & stayed in a hotel. I do NOT recommend this place!!

Beautiful campground - didn't realize there was no water in the lake!!Sites were nice. Bathrooms were so so - all toilets leaking - the floor was really wet.We were there for just one night so no big deal.

Very peaceful. We could only stay one night, and we wished that we had more time there.

The campsite's drive was too narrow and at a poor angle, I could not back my trailer into it. Maps to find the recreation area from the highway / numbered roads were not available. Especially with the lake drained for maintenance, this is not a place to be in the summer months.
@FranziskaCDCEE · Camped on May 31, 2023 at Campsite #58
Nice showers, wonderful view on the lake and cute fireflies. We are Tent Campers and it's not usual to have water and electricity in all sites. Really great place, we'll definitely come back

The day use areas are amazingly well kept and clean but the campground is not well maintained and sites are very close together.
@GregJ873B95E2E · Camped on Apr 29, 2023 at Campsite #6
Beautiful location and campsite was relatively level. Only criticism was the site was extremely steep on the entry side of our rig. The last step was a doozy. Due to the steepness the picnic table was on the wrong side.

We loved Dub Patton!! Beautiful, quiet, serene!! It was a stop-over for us. We only planned on staying 2 nights, but stayed 4. We were on our way to the coast. Love Dub Payton!!

We love the area. The only problem was using the website. It wasn't user friendly and the cell service here isn't great.
@PhillipD999800 · Camped on Oct 31, 2022 at Campsite #19
The site that I picked was in a swag that collected mud runoff, so that was disappointing. The area was quiet in the evening hours - to a point! Good view of the lake from the end of the campground road. Lovely sunrise. Shower facilities were ok, just average. Good stay for the price (half price with my Parks Pass). The Bad: This campground is unfortunately located right where FedEx jets either line up or make their final turn in to the Memphis airport, and it went on nonstop until 2 AM. Highly recommend earplugs, if you want to get any sleep.

Every year we come down it’s a blast and we always meet new families camping.
@LisaQ8512926 · Camped on Oct 14, 2022 at Campsite #21
Site 21 is angled entry which is fine however the end of the road is closed so you can not pull your RV out without having to back up all the way to the main Rd with it. ALSO the fire ring and picnic table are on the back side of your camper right next to your sewer lines. We were unable to use them all weekend. Even if you were tent camping who wants to sit by a fire next to the sewer system?!?! Bathhouse was full of water considering the showers are not in the same unit. And they were a very dirty mess. Only sites we liked the set up on were 20 (which is not listed as a site) and 12. Don't go by the site pics either. None of them get cleared of the pine needles. You can not see the concrete/asphalt where your camper goes

It was nice to have sewer hookups now

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
