Great site, neighboring sites nice distance from ours. Disappointed in seeing the lake drained and learning it may be 9 years before refilling takes place. Nevertheless, well be back to explore Hernando.

Site 30. Made reservations online. It showed most sites I thought would be easier access to be reserved already. It ended up the park was about 85% empty and a lot of easier sites to get into were empty. Website said it was good for 53 foot rig and 2 vehicles. I ended up having to drive on the grass a little to get a 36 foot 5th wheel in. Someone before me had already run the site number post over. I found site 31 post in my way. The lake was drained, so any lake activities were dashed. When I tried to look up the alerts for this park I got a message that the page didn't exist. Other than the tight entry and no lake, the park was pretty nice. Standard COE fare.

Surely wish there was a lake there, but it's still a pleasant view.

There is no lake, but this was a great one-night stop location. As with most campgrounds, the showers / bathrooms need some updating. These were kept clean so that was a plus. We liked it enough to book it for our trip home as well.

We were only there two nights. Our campsite was nice as we expected. Big disappointment was there was no lake. Pictures and descriptions still speak as if there is a lake. There is a blue link that says important information but it does not work. I guess we should have called. We still enjoyed our time there, drove into Memphis and explored. I understand that it will be 7-9 years before they can repair dam and start refilling the lake.

Great little campground for the price.

Very Nice full hook up campground. Most sites are pretty level and all are paved. The lake is drained due to the dam needing repair. Still a nice visit. Although there would not be a lot for kids to do. Bathrooms were clean.

First of all - there is NO lake. They opened the dam over a year ago so there is no water !!!! The sites are nice and level, the showers were clean, but there is absolutely nothing to do. Many people came with jet skies and paddle boards since the website still tells you there is a lake. Very disappointed
@EdwardF8870533 · Camped on Jun 3, 2024 at Campsite #6
Was their 3 days and no one checked us in our asked if things where ok. Had a broken picnic table, would have been nice if told or text emailed something about draining the lake to fix the dam. Before we arrived, found out from other campers that where there that it was drained months before. Just sad no communications and no contact at the park till we were leaving.

Even tho the lake is still down, watching the waterfowl and sunsets are worth it.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LAKE? there is no lake here. It's been drawn down for maintenance apparently??? For the next 5 years??? I HAD been planning to bring my my boat luckily I didn't; nor waste the money on fuel hauling it down here... from ILLINOIS. Where was the alert on that? We chose this campground because of the lake and no other reason. We drove 8 hours to get here. Even though we didn't bring our boat we were planning to spend the majority of our time fishing and swimming.Oh, the rooster that crows at dawn? Seriously? What the damn hell? Who wants to get up that early on vacation? A rooster crowed at about 6:00-6:15 every morning. Not an issue really, unless it's 3 am before getting in, or if you brought 4-legged barky friends. Thankfully I've got 2 chicken chasers who did wonderful at their new job. Didn't hurt him but scared him off. VERIZON USERS NO CELL SERVICE. Where was the alert? So many reasons why cell service is needed ie. Emergencies at home or emergencies at the campground.The site 001 is 50/50. While it seems other sites were good to go in this aspect the fire ring is located on the working side of the site. The picnic table and built-in grill are on the complete opposite side and about 8' lower than the pad. To make maters worse the fire ring is located approximately 5' from the sewer inlet, Yuck! It doesn't smell but it's the mere point. This is not where I want to have a relaxing campfire. Also, inside the fire ring was melted building materials; as if somebody had burnt trash here. A+ BATHROOMS; SHOWERS AND STALLS ARE AIR-CONDITIONED. Shower heads are nice plenty of hot water. Bathrooms are clean unfortunately no soap dispensers for hand washing; just a hand drier, mold and mildew growing on shower curtains which are held in place by zip-ties. Grounds are clean and well kept and the staff answering the phone was awesome and very accommodating. Unfortunately however, we're asking for a refund and we won't be back.

Lake is no longer there, there is a thin river in its place. Because of this there is no access to what used to be the beach or lakefront. Very quiet. Bathroom clean but dated. No check in, just drive to the site. Most sites are full hook up.
@JudyJeffBADB40 · Camped on Apr 26, 2024 at Campsite #18
Dog feces and beer bottle caps on our site 18 when we arrived had a negative influence on our appreciation for this place. Campground has good potential, but needs attention to detail by staff. And needs staff, too, as none appeared to be present during our stay, although the bath houses were clean.

Beautiful. Only complaint would be cell phone reception.

The park was pretty but our site (44) had a steep drop off as we parked the motor home. There wasnt a good flat area to set up chairs outside. My brother was in site 45 and the picnic table was on the sewer side of his RV and it was very difficult for him to park due to the road having a steep drop off.

We love camping at Hernando Point. We arent water people, so not having water doesnt bother us. Its close to Memphis & we go a lot more now. Highly recommend .

My wife and I love this spot Lot #50. It will be so pretty when the dam is fixed and the water is let back in. We will be back !

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
