Showers are a bit dingy but not too bad.

The sewage connection did not fit well. The threads were stripped. Everything else was awesome!

This is actually a nice campground. The sites are level and far enough apart to provide good elbow room. However, the water situation is very poor. The pump that supplies water to the campsites failed and we were left without any water. To include no water in the restrooms and showers. In talking to some long term campers we were told it is a common occurrence to have the pump fail and to have no water for a day or two. They compensate by holding water in their freshwater tanks. Word to the wise if you plan on camping here.

Nice campground. The bathrooms were clean but could use an upgrade.

Nice Campground. Pretty empty while we were there. Camp host was friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean and renovated. We had a site across from the lake and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. We were able to gather some wood behind our site for a nice campfire.

We stayed here for two weeks on site 83. The site is a good site but during the cold weather the water froze because the hydrant is not for cold weather. We had water in our tank to use until the weather warmed up some.

Lights at bathroom were on timer and dark for most of night. Came on sometime in middle of night. Lake was drained and no water. Not well maintained site or facilities.

We were in the middle of a terrible thunderstorm with flash flooding just up the road when I arrived, through no fault of Hernando Point Campground. However, I had camped there before, knew pretty much where I was going, and thankfully knew I could count on everything being in place and it was. I knew from past experience that if there was any imminent danger, that peace officers would be in place to evacuate campers. And I was correct!

I have stayed at Hernando Point Campground many times enroute to/from vacations to the southern coast. Its easy to get to, has great local amenities, clean restrooms, a beautiful setting, and wonderful campsites overlooking Arkabutla Lake. Once when I stayed in the park the campground was under a tornado warning. I was impressed with the manner that the park service snd local sheriffs office coordinated to ensure safety of the campers. I keep thinking that, rather than just passing through, Im going to take a trip and make Hernando Point Campground my destination. Its a beautiful setting to relax and spend a little time.

Spot 57 needs the power pole fixed. That was the spot we reserved, but it wasnt working so we had to change spots. There have been several improvements done in the last few years since weve been coming, and things look much better than they did 3 years ago! There was trash left around spot 83. The one we stayed in. Im sure you cant control that much, but there must be camp hosts that can clean the sites.

We stayed here for a week and loved it! The site was perfect right next to the lake. Even though there isn't really much of a lake as such we saw some wildlife and the sunrise and sunsets were beautiful. It was very quiet and even though we didn't actually speak to any of the staff they were out and about driving around regulary making sure everything was good which was re assuring we found it very friendly (chatted to other campers) love the way you can pick your spot on the website! Highly recommend this park.

Nice quiet park with FHA.Sites for spaced out and you are not right on top of other camper. The restrooms are older and could use some dates. But they were clean. No camp host at the time we were there, but no problems.

Overall this was a really nice place. There seemed to be quite a bit of traffic in and out, but other than that, it was quiet and relaxing. The traffic was not a problem for us though. I did like that Desoto County Sheriff's Department deputies rode through multiple times while we were there which made us feel safer and more comfortable, knowing they were checking on things. Love that it was full hook ups for sewer, water and electric. We had a nice, relaxing weekend and will definitely be visiting here again.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
