Excellent location. Friendly staff. Nicest shower facilities of any campground.

Trees need trimming. There must be 15' overhead clearance along the campground road and in campsites at all times. Period. Tree limbs must not be allowed within 12" of either side of the road. Period. I am so tired of scratches to my RV, damage to my TV antenna and other things on the roof, and tears in the roof itself. When a campsite is rented it is presumed safe for the intended purpose but if the trees aren't trimmed RVs get damaged. Meet your responsibilities!

Beautiful location and quiet. Dark nights helped star grazing. Only issue was the mosquitos - hundreds of them and came out looking like we had small pox!

We have stayed at many Corp. campgrounds over the years, but this is this best run we have ever seen. The gentleman that cleans the restrooms is a 15 on a 1-10 scale. Management is excellent, everyone has a job and he supervises constantly. This has been a wet year, so bring mosquito spay, but not bad on sunny days.

Great place to stay. Grounds and bathrooms were clean. The campground was full, but was quiet and peaceful. Big Sandy is a beautiful lake.

Wonderful campsites $ staff. Showers & restrooms very clean. Suggestions: 1). Septic dump station area was terrible after a rain- muddy, yucky! An easy fix- filling in low spots & holes with some Class V would take care of most of the problem; 2). Please add more boat docks at the N boat launch. Its badly needed!!! 3). Odor coming from N restroom vent chimney is putrid in the summer- year after year. Thank you!

This COE campground was amazing! The grounds were so clean and raked up, no litter at all! The restrooms were unbelievably clean, hot water for showers. Plenty of places to walk, fishing docks all over the place. Our site was level, clear of overhead branches for larger RV.

We had site 3 in the south campground and didnt like the cramped sites and especially didnt like the extremely bright bathroom lights that bothered us for our campfire. Staff person was very accommodating in letting us move to a site in the north campground. Loved our site there!

Great campground! Beautiful location, great amenities, very helpful staff and hosts. Loved the info about historical connections.

Lovely campground. We had 3 spots on the water so the small lots were ok. Definitely, the bigger lots in the north are great, with trees. Lots of recreational areas. No firewood sold on site. Great bath house. Limited trails. And the interpretative was lame def needs work

Enjoyed the easy access in taking our kayak out onto the Mississippi River. Very friendly hosts!

Sandy Lake was a great spot. We stayed several days. The trees need trimming. We stayed in #23 and had branches hitting our roof. Never a good thing. Last night there, there were some power issues. One leg was dropping to 104. Not good. Offered a different site, but checked power there first and it was same. Same on next site. Power came back up to 106 and so our rig ran fine. We just used one ac, instead of two. The park is clean. The patrons respectful. Kids were having a ball. There was a "treasure" hunt for medallions one day. Hubby and I looked and weren't successful in finding any. :) It was a fun activity. Places to keep your boat. Boat ramps. Kayaks. Canoes. Great stay and we would return!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
