Outlet (Vassar) Campground in Osage county is located 51 min southwest of Lawrence, KS with an elevation of 943 feet. There are a total of 36 campsites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of April to the end of October. 29 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 40 and 65 feet. All sites are currently reservable. 29 sites have electric and water hookups. 2 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $22.00 to $30.00.

Outlet CG is a pretty place. 50 amp service has just been added and they combined two 30 amp sites to do it. CG host was very helpful and I was a needy customer. Our site #32 was not level; 4" front to back and 2" side to side....Lippert couldn't level our motorhome. Impact? Water wouldn't drain from the shower and water sloshed out of cooking pots. CEL PHONE coverage is NOT AVAILABLE except by driving 1/2 mile up hill to the top of the dam. The area was beautiful in the spring, but official "season" had not yet begun--so adjacent USACE campgrounds were closed. CG host was attentive when I asked for advice on other regional USACE CGs and then provided a refund. We camped at Outlet Park - Pomona Reservoir in a Motorhome.

We actually didn't stay at Pomona Lake, we mistakenly booked the Outlet Park at Pomona instead of Melvern, not realizing that Melvern also has an Outlet Park. We contacted the Park Rangers, and they showed up in person to help us get a place booked in the Melvern Lake Outlet Park. What a life saver and help make our weekend more enjoyable. Everything was in working order, clean and well kept. We live near Tenkiller Lake in Oklahoma and camp at Petit Bay corp camp. We camp there some. The playground equipment is in dangerous condition, sewer lift pump has been inoperable for several years, bathrooms not maintained, overall its managed poorly. This camp at zPomona is great.

Our stay at the Outlet Park at Pomona was the best! The shade is unbelievable! Our kids enjoyed both the playground area and riding their bikes around the paved drive. We drove across the dam to enjoy the swim beach. Very clean! Everything was very clean! We plan to camp again!!Only negative (if you consider it a negative) was our T-Mobile service did not work down in the campground. We just went up the hill to the main road and got service to our phones.

Arrived by bicycle and tent camped in #2. Lots of level grass but not much breeze. Restrooms nearby but showers were at the top of the hill near the entrance. Should have seen the look on the raccoon’s face when he set off my bike alarm at midnight. Priceless! 😋❤️🚴‍♀️

Pomona Outlet Park is a GREAT camping location, especially with kiddos! There is a great park right in the middle of the park and lots of shade. Spot 26 is the second spot in down the hill. There is a large evergreen tree that blocks your view of the park area if you have kiddos but the park it right across the street so we felt totally comfortable letting the kids go over there by themselves. We saw two eagles in the trees right behind our site each morning. The trash area is up the hill so you either have to walk up a decent-sized hill to dump it or drive it up the hill. Overall we loved the spot and will be back in the future.

Great wooded campground with excellent friendly staff. Some spots need more gravel on them due to mud, otherwise I would have rated this a 5.
