The roads around the lake to the campground are horrible. They are very narrow and falling apart. The campground itself was very dated and the facilities are old and nasty.

We were in group site one and the view was great. The shelter over the picnic tables did have a lot of wasp nest in them. The bathroom/shower building was in need of cleaning. There were lots of bugs and wasp nest in there. One morning the camp host five dogs did get out and came running through our campsite agitating the couple dogs that we had tied up with us.

Site was clean, host very friendly and answered questions. Only issue was campers didn't treat restroom/showers with respect.

We loved this site. It looked out over the lake and felt remote. Everything worked as it should. Park host seemed to be readily available, although we didnt need anything. We had fun riding our bikes in the area. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because of the road to get to the campground. Whew! Treacherous at times! Youve got to hope that you dont come across anyone coming at you with a big rig, because the roads are TIGHT!

Camp Hosts were friendly and helpful. Nice place to camp unless there are tornados nearby (true story).

If you are looking for a quiet, remote campground, this is the place. Much of the campground has recently gone through upgrades to most campsites. One of the two bathroom/shower houses is newly remodeled with upgraded shower controls; the other shower house is in rough condition. Because it is so remote, do not expect any over-the-air TV reception and very limited, if any, cell phone reception, Also, be cautious of using Google Maps to direct you there - or you might be sent a significant distance over gravel roads. Even the best route into the campground has some gravel roads, but they are in very good condition. There are no railroad tracks anywhere near this campground. It is very quiet.

Nice camping areas for tents, campers, and RVs. The boat launching area needs dredged. I saw several boaters who were not able to launch their boats due to shallow water at the ramp. Also , a floating dock needs to be installed for seniors and handicapped individuals to be able to board vessels.

Directions from the north took me on more than 10 miles of gravel roads! Need to go to the south and cross dam for easier access. FHU site and great sunsets. Park could use some TLC, no park hosts but rangers did come through.

We camped during the week. Almost felt like we were the only ones there. Very peaceful

The campground itself was great. Getting there was a terrible experience. We were coming across 54 and were going to drop down from the north into the campground, all of the roads going south are dirt. We then took 99 and went south thinking we would come in from the west - you got it, the roads were all dirt. We traveled on south to 400 and then back east. It's nine miles from the turn off of 400 to the campground and, again, part of it was dirt. The road is full of holes and in bad shape. We liked the campground, we had good Verizon cell service, but probably will never go back because of the roads getting there.

The site was muddy, with lots of noisy ATV traffic coming by. The real problem were the trains which ran right by the campsite and blew their horns at all hours of the day. It was hard to get to sleep and we were always awoken several times during the night by trains blaring their horns.

Campsite #18 was nice other than the picnic table desperately needing replaced. Bathrooms were functional, nothing more. The swim area needed desperate attention as there is no clear path to it, the sand is all gone, and it's a muddy mess and covered with debris. Definitely a remote area so plan to bring all needed supplies for your trip. Also, at minimum a couple miles of narrow and gravel roads (or more depending on which way you come in). We were here for just under a week. During the weekdays we almost had the place to ourself, only 2 other campers in the whole park which was nice.

White Hall Bay is an excellent campground. It is quiet. Good roads. Level RV pads. Close to the Fall River Lake and the campsites have good spacing.

We are glad they decided to open reservations back up in October after being shut down in September the last 2-3 years. Love this campground for our annual October camping trip with family.

Service was sketchy with Verizon. No TV stations. All hookups worked well. Love these campgrounds. We are self contained and did not use toilets or showers.

Great area. Park staff extremely helpful when needed.

We drove the long narrow bumpy road to Whitehall Bay. It was so worth that drive to camp here. Camp sites were neat and appreciated the sewer hookup at our site. (Not all sites have sewer hookups here.) View of the dam/water was great. We drove into the small prairie town of Fall River. We found the locals very friendly and enjoyed visiting at the Market/Restaurant on Main Street. The home cooking serves breakfast and lunch and groceries cover most necessities. Looking forward to spending more time at Whitehall Bay!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
