Camping was right on top of each other. Toilet wasn't the cleanest.

Great views from the campsite. Some noise from the adjacent road, but the area was easy to get to.

The sites were beautiful and right on the water. The water is very low this year, as mentioned on the website but we still enjoyed a swim. There is no cell service at the site but there is service a short drive away and the campgrounds close proximity to Boise was very convenient. Overall, this was a great site!

HOSTILE camp HOST!! I cancelled ALL our future reservations for this park and I dont plan to use again until they remove their hostile, aggressive and horrible camp HOST - Travis! Weve used this park for the years it has been around and created some wonderful memories! But sadly this year the HOST is on a power trip and needs to be removed! The park was empty!! Totally EMPTY! And, among other things that I wont bother to try and explain since I wouldnt have enough room, he wouldnt allow us to park by the dock where you launch the boats, to let our 77 year old mom out so she could walk down the easiest path!!!! His exact words were, If I can walk up and down this after have a heart ablation, she can do it. Are you kidding me?!!!!!!!!! This was just the beginning of the argument we ended up having with him and there is clearly NOOOOO reasoning with a guy on a power trip!!!!! I have a recording of our later interaction that I will be putting online to warn future campers. This is a HUGE problem and very unfortunate and honestly infuriating!!!! I tried to reason with him that when you have the opportunity to accommodate people why wouldnt you?!! He couldnt wrap his small mind around it and was beyond rude, argumentative and just plain arrogant. He clearly doesnt care about other people at all. He should NEVER be hosting this campsite or anything for that matter. Take this review very seriously. After this happened I looked at the reviews and there is one person who took the time to leave a review whose also had a bad experience with their elderly mom! Im sure after having TWO separate trips there where this guy has behaved the same way to us over different things, that there are other people whove experienced the same hostile and completely inexcusable behavior from this guy that just havent bothered to leave a review. Super sad and I cant believe people can be so horrible.

We really love this location for family Getaways since its close to home. We take floating tubes, sunscreen, umbrellas, food and lots of water for the entire day/night. The beach is monitored by the host and park ranger.

With local temperatures in triple digits, spending a few days camping on the shore of Lucky Peak was the ticket! Having a dock adjacent to the site for boating, swimming, fishing or just sitting on to read and enjoy lake-cooled breezes is a huge benefit of this site. Our camp host was very friendly and helpful, and kept the rest rooms and camp sites very clean and orderly. While the reservation system showed all sites fully booked, we saw very few overnight campers. Sites by the water had some visitors that stayed just for the day. As promised, there is no cell service at this site, and the resident trash pandas really did a number on our unsecured food box one night! Much-enjoyed our stay here and look forward to returning.

We love this campground, but it's been a few years. Apparently, the parking and use policies have been updated so that only those with a reservation can even visit the campground. I reserved the group site, thinking that we could host our "open boat" day, but got notified that we had too many people coming and going to fit the reservation. No one actually camped and we were just hanging out on the lake at the docks and staying in our campground and sharing food. Anyway, now I know, but it's a very restrictive policy. And if we do it again in the future, we will need to reserve more spots which will prevent others from being able to camp. Since the docks are "unreservable," I thought a person did not need a reservation to use them. I'm still not totally sure I understand the policy.

The camp host was very rude and confrontational. We talked with some other campers and they had the same view of the host as we did. He cased our 88 year old grandmother off of a picnic table that she was setting at when she was eating. The site was not reserved by any other camper.

Travis was the best host weve ever had at any campsite, everything was clean and tidy, and he even gave our boys free ice cream voucher's for wearing their life vests. The views were immaculate and the private beach was amazing during a 95 degree day!

Macks creek is a beautiful place to spend time making memories. Our camp host this year was awesome and made sure to check in with us regularly. He helped keep the area to only those who had reservations. It is a tough job at times and he handled it well. We will definitely stay here again. We have been coming here for many years and the recent changes have helped make it more enjoyable and much less crowded. It was a wonderful way to spend several days enjoying the beauty, the water, and loved ones!!

Love Macks creek. Host was a bit rude, bossy, demanding we couldn't be on beach without reservation, I informed him who I was & we did have a 3 nite Rav reso. He insisted we didn't, I then showed him my reservation & OHHHH THERE YOU ARE, whatever, 5 RV spots & he couldn't locate me.....

RV sites are close to the road, but never bothered us when sleeping. A short walk to the test site gives you access to the water. Great camping site very close to Boise. Too bad the sites close very early in the year (mid-September) .

Beautiful campsites right by the lake. Stopped by for a night on a road trip and had no complaints.

Was warm, as expected when we got to the site, but it cooled down when the sun set. Site was clean and well kept (no trash).Quiet area and was not bothered by the noise of passing cars (we were in a classB campervan) even throughout the night.

We really enjoy going to Macks Creek! You must have a reservation which keeps it from being crowded. Great play area for kids. The beach area is very clean. Theres a camp host and Park Ranger checking on things and confirming reservations. No cell service which is also great!

View and ambience is gorgeous and lake is warm in July. Seems like a hidden treasure for out-of-staters like us. Our expectations were middling before we arrived and Mack’s Creek over performed - big time. There were somehow no mosquitoes, but a local told us that wasn’t normal for July. No good drinking water on site so make sure you bring some. Boise is only 30m drive if you need anything.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
