The area is nice and it is easy to get around on foot. The access road is really narrow. We enjoyed the woods and the camp was quiet. We like to fish, but all the access points we found to the creek were posted. The area information said that campers enjoy fishing Mores Creek, but we could not find where this was possible. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay.

Spot 5 has a great view of the mountains across the valley. Its a quiet spot, with neighbors not super close. The water pump is directly across the road, and not too far from. The bathrooms.

A really nice campsite with lots of space between sites. But it is more or less boondocking, so bring supplies! Water is available via a hand operated pump.

Beautiful wooded campground. Good mix of reservable and first come sites. Restrooms are clean. The water, supposedly potable, came out greenish and unusable.

Campground has large pine trees that provide good shade most of the day. Most sites are pretty level, with a few that have some slope. Most sites are easy to back into, but there are several that are backwards, making it hard to position a trailer. The water coming from the pumps was orange-ish, so consider bringing your own water for drinking and cooking.

I love grayback because it is quiet and peaceful. There are trails if you like to hike and a small creek if you want to get wet to cool down. Idaho City is only five minutes away if you need any supplies

Nice no amenities campsite near Idaho City. Dump site and water in Idaho City. 34 miles from Boise.

This campground has a nice location, and was pretty quiet. Its great for trailers, but was definitely not designed for tent campers. None of the sites have tent pads, and the areas where you can set up a tent are not level at all. We had to set up our tent on the end of the pavement pad which was NOT ideal. Site 3 has a picnic table built for toddlers. Its so close to the ground it was perfect for my 4 year old. Despite all this, the campground itself is great, clean enough toilets, water, and 5 minutes from idaho city. Just wish they had better accommodations for tents.

Lovely and quiet campground with beautiful sunsets. A river to explore just down the hill and hot springs a 3 minute drive away!

Nice campground, less than 1-hour drive from Boise. Well-maintained facilities, clean toilets. Walking access to Mores creek. 5-minute drive to Idaho city gas station and stores. Hot springs near Idaho city is a must do.The campground is located really close to the highway, so some Boise from the cars may spoil the otherwise great camping experience for some. Also, the fire pits are very deep which makes grilling a bit of a chore, bring lots of charcoal and firewood.

Beautifully maintained campground with easy access to all campsite’s. Close proximity to town of Idaho city which has a lovely, by reservation only, hot springs. Campsite has plenty of readily available firewood and water.

They site was clean and well maintained. Close enough to Idaho City so if you forgot something you could grab it, the hot springs were just @3/4 mile away. Enough trails for some beautiful hiking. Lucky Peak is only a 30 minute drive and so much more. The camp host was very friendly for how many sites he had to check on. And the RV dump outside Idaho City was very convenient also.

Site was accommodating and tucked away (in comparison to other sites). Fire ring area was a little tight and the table is not built for average or tall people (very low), but we made it work. The meadow behind the site was beautiful and the close access to the river was great. Would definitely stay here again!

This is a nicely laid out campground, right above a creek that is fun to explore. It's close enough to Idaho City that you can drive over and explore the shops. However, don't expect the camp host to enforce quiet hours. There were two campsites that were yelling, laughing, playing music, and carrying on until after midnight. For us tent campers, there is no sound dampening or escape from hearing the other campsites, especially when they are being super loud (I don't mean talking to each other, I mean yelling and uproarious laughter).

Pretty campground. No water. Great trails for biking or ATV behind campground.

The campground was full when we were there, but the spots were spread out enough that it didn't feel crowded. The pit toilets were well maintained and clean. We would have liked to have a sink if possible. Visiting Idaho City is convenient and fun. We went down to the Grimes recreation area when the creek at the base was too crowded.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
