Woodring Branch has always been my favorite campground. I wish they could be open longer .

Park/campground was very neat. The check in process went smoothly. Three things though: In the 4 days at the campsite, no one was in the building at the entrance to campground. Host/hostess had to be hunted down --sometimes unsuccessful. (2) What is with the loud mowers and contract "workers" just sitting in their trucks for hours. (3) a lot of sawed logs/broken branches in too many campsites. The logs/branches appeared to be from downed trees.

We loved the campground but it rained so much we had to leave early. The Campground Host were great!

Love Woodring Campground. We make it an annual trip. We are tent campers.

A five mile drive down a twisting, but nicely paved, road to the CG. Steep back-in sites. Dump station in middle of campground. You may have to drive out and turn around to access it. Nothing to do except fish, small childrens playground.

The week was quiet with a great spot to visit with friends and enjoy the lake. Checking in was easy. No camp how was on duty. Registration was done by paper. I did feel a little concerned that during our 8 day stay a camp host was not in the kiosk which made me question the security of the campground. However luckily we had no issues.

Lovely campground mid week. Might be more busy and noisy on weekend.

Very nice campground. Well managed and well kept. Lots of recreation opportunities. Close to home for us. We have been coming here for years.

sites order based on water access40-42-37-38-41-39-36site 40 is at the end of trail and has wide and easy access to water. a bit on hill and has 180 view. best site in campground. this may be best site even when comparing many other campgrounds. water is about 30 feet away and is good for swimming. besides site 42, all other sites are kinda pointless unless they are friends with site 40 group. no views for other sites. parking lot has 8 places, parallel to each other and about 18 feet long. trail to sites is wide and beautiful.site 39 right next to trail, lacks privacy. right next to 41 entrance. water access is bad, down a steep hill and a sudden drop that is claimable. site 41 has ok privacy , water access is bad down steep hill and suddenly even steeper to water.site 42 big tent area, good access down to water and nice privacy, is most away from trail.site 38 next to trail. water acces is down a steep hill and has good acces, no climbing needed. water acces is between 38 and 37 seems like it almost belongs to 37.site 37 at near start lacks privacy. eveyone going to cars or restroom will walk parallel to campsite and very near.site 36 near trail near road, no water access, water is down a steep hill and doesn't look like anyone bothered ever to go down because of how it looks like

One of the best campsites we've ever been to. Beauty, cleanliness, hosts...all have our highest level of appreciation. Can't wait to return

Don't go if you plan on laughing, singing and enjoying yourself outdoors. It bothers thy neighbors.....

I stay here every year for Memorial Day and love it. It's a wonderful campground with some of the best sunsets you'll ever see. The only word of caution is in the new bathhouse. The floors are super slick when wet and a few people have fallen - so I recommend wearing shower shoes with good soles if you don't already.

We were the only tent campers and had the entire section to ourselves. Very peaceful, beautiful, and serene. The hosts came to check on us after a storm and were very friendly. I have camped and rvd here several times and I will continue. Very nice facilities and they are up kept very well.

The campground hosts were the best EVER! We have camped at Woodring Branch for years and the hosts this year were the best.We do wish the campground stayed open longer. The camping and fishing at Carters Lake is ideal for a year round experience.

We had a beautiful view and private deck at spot 28.
@ZacharyH112177 · Camped on Aug 20, 2023 at Campsite #40
The campsites are very well maintained. Not only that, but the scenery is breathtaking! Everything was so peaceful. It was also really easy to get to our site from where we parked. We are a family of 7 (5 kids, 2 adults) and we had our 2 dogs. There was plenty of stuff to do and experience. We will absolutely be returning!

This is a nice campground, although we were disappointed in a couple of things. The spaces are close together and although they are offset, you're still close enough not to have any privacy at all. The other disappointment is the beach. The Morganton Point campground has a wonderful large beach area and we expected something along that line. This area is small, cramped and really no way to bring a couple of chairs to sit and enjoy the water. It's possible there is another area we didn't find, but the one marked 'beach' was not appealing. We paid for a 4-night stay, but only stayed 1 night.
@MaryA8824979 · Camped on Aug 13, 2023 at Campsite #20
Self check-in with reservation, cleanest campground all over including the restrooms and the swim areas. The water temperature is fantastic! Nature at it's best. This is the woods, be bear aware. Woodring is the place to go if you want amenities and nature. Fire ring, water and electric at each site, For tent campers, it's a trek to the showers. Boat ramps located within the campground. NO grocery close by but plenty to do, eat and sight see within an hour of the campground.Don't miss the Bigfoot museum near Ellijay, Ga!

Woodring is my favorite campground! Even though they don't have full hookups/sewage I still love it here.
@JacquelineL261 · Camped on Aug 1, 2023 at Campsite #29
I cant say enough about how wonderful Woodring campground is. We had a wonderful time. The fabulous sunsets and the big harvest moon rises. We had such fun on our floats at the beach area and riding around the lake on our boat. The people we met were so nice and the camp volunteers helped us with so many things. Clint went out of his way to help us. The bath house has been redone since last year and its so nice. The cleaning crews do a wonderful job and the new configuration is great. I would recommend this campground to anyone. It was so nice seeing families having fun together. We also loved the week of doing nothing and just sitting in the peace and quiet. Well be back next year.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
