Nice location, level spacious sites. I prefer individual bath units which they have vs building with plastic curtain dividers. Gate house not manned but host tours grounds a couple times day.

Every site is beautiful. We had site 48 and it was great. The hook ups were on the wrong side but still reached for us. Bathrooms are a bit of a walk away but overall this is an incredible place to stay!

Camp sites sit on ridges with beautiful hardwoods. Lake access is not easy from the campsites but there is a boat ramp.

Very clean campground, also very nice and quiet. We loved the boat ramp just for campers.

The campground host was very courteous and helpful. The campground facilities were very clean. Park seems very well maintained. Maybe some additional fallen tree removal next to roadways would be an improvement but it does not dampen our enthusiasm to camp there. Other than that no suggestions.

Volunteers are wonderful. They are very friendly and helpful. The place is awesome. It is on Carters lake. I would not bring children though, unless you will be there with them the entire time. It is too many steep cliffs and edges for kids to fall down.

Unkept, not marked! The hike in and out isnt favorable. Very difficult to bring all your stuff to the site if you plan to stay for more than a day. The water was beautiful if you could safely get to it.

The bathhouses are too far from the campsites. There are no trash containers in the campground loops. The dumpsters are located at the boat ramp. The bathhouse in the first loop needs better ventilation. It was too hot and stinks all the time. The site we had, 5, was a good site. Plenty of shade and level. The fire pit, grill nor patio had been cleaned.

The sites are well kept with plenty of space and location is close to towns. Volunteers were very helpful and accessible.

We love Doll Mountain. So beautiful and well-maintained. Carter's lake is the best.

I stayed at site 23. It was clean, level, and the view of the lake through the trees was very relaxing.

We love the campground but this is the second time weve had roof damage as we drove in or out. Its ridiculous the amount of trees hanging low! The black pine trees as you enter about 1/2 mile in are the worst but there are so many we have to swerve around but now you cant even miss them! I have to have my roof fixed where the limb cut the top nearly all the way down! This is the 2nd repair due to the negligence of clearing the trees off the top hanging! Those pines are rough and dont bend! They also damaged the antenna cover! It cost me $800 this trip! Do better Corps of Engineers at Doll Mtn!

This was our first visit to Doll Mountain Campground on Site 24. My first issue was the site levelness. It was the worse I've experienced. We have a Beech Lanel Bluetooth Leveling System, and it is great to use and accurate. Levelness is important to anyone like us the has an Ammonia type refrigerator. Unless they are level they will not get cold enough and if allowed to operate for even just 20 minutes not level can permanently ruin the cooling unit. When we arrived at site 24 the Be ech Lane showed passenger side was 6-1/2" low. My Andersen Leveling Blocks can provide up to 4" lift so had to add 2x8 wood block too. Unfortunately, the blocks would constantly slip in the gravel. Took about an hour and half to finally get level by resulting to digging out the driver side a few inches so I could use just the Andersen blocks on passenger side. I've never experienced a site anywhere this crooked side to side. Our second surprise was bug bites that increased each day. At first, we could understand what was biting us because we never saw the bugs but boy did, they itch and turn red. After research we found we were bitten by Chiggers. Our son visited us one afternoon and he ended up with ten bites. Each day of our 6 day visit we got more bites so we headed home a day early.Many sites are spaced far apart but hardly any access to the lake except the boat ramp. Because of the poorly leveled site and Chigger bites, doubt we will return here. If you do stay on site 24, I suggest you dig out a few inches of gravel on the driver side so you can reduce the lift need on passenger side. Hopefully the park will spray or something to rid the Chigger bugs.

We loved our experience at site 31. We even re-booked for a couple of weeks from now. Easter, electricity, a great view, an expansive site, well maintained. We drove around and looked at all the sites, and this was one of our top favorites. We lucked out!

It is not a bad site but it rained twice and flooded both times. It had no run off . Had to dig a trench in two places for it to drain. It is ok if no rain is called for. Don't think we will choose doll mountain. It doesn't provide what we prefer in a Campground. But probably would be great for others. There is no swimming area so if you are a boat person it would be perfect for you.

Always enjoy staying at Doll Mountain! Very peaceful and quiet. We live less than 10 minutes from there but feel like we are hours away .

We have camped there for about 4 years and it has been very enjoyable. Like the new bathhouse is very nice, and I would love for the other bathhouse to be upgraded. But my biggest concern is the rochbugs. They were at at least two campsites. Two actually got into my camper. I do NOT want to bring them home.

The sites were so nice but the showers were pathetic! At least it was hot water.

Really don't want to tell anyone about our favorite campground. we have been coming here for close to 30 years. love it. we almost have a boat with us and can find a spot close to our site for it. or with the boat ramp we can trailer it each evening if that works better.
@debralynn5767A · Camped on May 17, 2024 at Campsite #42
Although we had a good bit of rain it was still an enjoyable trip. There was good drainage. We had a concrete pad and a wooden deck so mud was not a problem. I enjoy listening to the rain and reading. Also Our camp hosts were friendly and helpful.

Thanks to all our Supporting Members

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
