We had an excellent experience here. It all started by being greeted by Mark and the professionalism shown by him as well as all the other folks working with him to make our stay wonderful. Having never stayed here before, knowing that there would be no hookups I had hoped for solar to play a large role. This was not to be as this is a densely wooded area and received very limited sun exposure. Fortunately we had thought ahead and filled the diesel tank for the generator. Charging approximately 2 hours a day was sufficient to keep everything operational.Another advantage or dis-advantage was the isolation, 0% Cell phone service/internet service. The only service that was available was when we were close to a town and out of the dense forest. We spent three days learning to live the old way. LOL It was nice to get away from the electronics for a few days and actually communicate with each other.Deer wandering through the campsite daily as well as many other species of wildlife, was a refreshing/enjoyable distraction. We did have one un-solicited visitor that had to evicted, a large deer mouse loved the dogs food. This has been a recurring issue everywhere we have been this year and so we are now packing several traps to help control the squatting on our properties. Aspen Point Campground on Lake of the Woods was the perfect staging ground for Crater Lake as well as other waterfalls and many lakes in the area. If you have not been to Crater Lake it is a must add to your Bucket List. Pictures do not serve up the Magnificent beauty that you will experience. As you approach the lake for the first time be sure to take a deep breath and try to hold on as it will quickly be stolen away as you summit the first climb that will afford you your first view of this spectacular wonder. The depth and color will leave you momentarily speechless and you will swear your seeing a mirage as nothing could be this beautiful. Happy trails until our next review.

Clean facility for dry camping. Camp hosts were friendly and visible throughout the camp.

Had reservations for one particular spot for four days only (all we could get ). Upon arrival, the camp host made us aware of some really nice spots that were open/first come spots that we could stay up to 14 days. We stayed a whole week. It was absolutely great!

The lake was beautiful!The Lake of the Woods resort staff was top notch as always!This campground has a lot of chipmunks and raccoons. They will try to get into your food, so definitely keep all the food in locked containers. The raccoons are enormous here; the largest raccoons I've ever seen in my life; They are extremely smart and they know how to open things; They will try to get into everything.Mosquitoes are not usually a big issue here. However, this campground always seems to have a lot of large spiders and flys for some reason. The spiders like to crawl all over your tent at night and there always seems to be a few of them under my tent when I take it down on the last day.The campground has coin operated hot showers; which is awesome so bring a few rolls of quarters. They keep them pretty clean but I recommend bringing a shower curtain liner to put over the ones they have when showering. I also usually bring flip flops for the shower.My son and I saw a bald eagle fishing on the lake during this trip; which was pretty cool.There is a sit-down-restaurant, a food cart, a pizza place, a fishing supply place, a small convenience store and a gas station that is walking distance from the campground. The convenience store has a lot of useful things like ice and propane.Overall one of my favorite lakes and campgrounds in Oregon.

We stayed a week at Aspen camp ground. It was a good visit overall. But the restrooms need to be replaced. And they were never cleaned. It was so bad. We had to ask to have them cleaned and have the toilet paper stocked. They just need to get new bathrooms and to have showers added.

Love this campground. Spacious sites, clean bathrooms. Need to better enforce quiet hoursa party went into wee hours next to us. And picnic table in spot 60 needs repair.

We have been coming here for 6yrs straight. We always have the best time and hate to leave! My only complaint would be the computer system to book our reservation. Its extremely stressful trying to get a spot booking 6 months in advance. I was on the computer 6am sharp to reserve and there was nothing available. So our family and friends family were in two totally different locations, instead of next to each other as normal.

Its a beautiful place to spend time. So many fun things to do. I would say the bathrooms were in terrible shape with broken sinks, filthy, and ratty grey paint splotches. The staff need to be better educated to communicate the parking permit types and where you are allowed to park with each one. We had several issues with our various friends and family

We LOVE Lake of the Woods...but this time the we had over 20 people, 5 tents and an RV in a non group site next to us that played beer pong & partied yelling profanities at each other until after midnight for an entire week, that was fun trying to get our little kids to sleep...

We camp ever year at aspen point for 4th of July. Love Tim, the new camp host. Cleanest bathrooms in years.

All in all, this is my favorite place to camp. Its a beautiful place right on the lake. I was shocked and extremely disappointed with the condition of the bathroom near our campsite. It needs painting and some upgrading. Only one sink worked. The other sink was broken and had yellow tape wrapped around it and no plumbing.

The policy about changing sites and then still charging a cancelation fee is wrong.

Another great spot. Camp host super helpful and friendly. Lakeside and nice trail to cruise along. Excellent camp after exploring lava beds.

Stayed 6/23 to 6/26 2025. Sites 44 & 46, Weather: sunny with calm winds, temp about 79 degrees. Lots of trees to help keep it cool. Sites would be on the small side for any Big rigs, but perfect for my camper. Bathrooms well maintained and close. Beach was clear water and kids were swimming. only issue really was the mosquitos. Luckly, they don't like campfires. Oh the local critters with make a mess of any trash or food left outside.

Easy to find! Great restrooms, and awesome view from our campsite of the lake!

The new camp host in space one is very rude! I miss last years camp host in the 1st spot and the two ladies that were in the middle area. They were willing to answer any questions you had and were always smiling and happy. This new dude is rude and does not treat senior citizens very well at all. He is crazy on his side by side and thinks he can drive as fast as he wants on it through the campground and rules dont apply to him.
@SummerB3979322 · Camped on May 28, 2024 at Campsite #GS1
There were downed trees covering part of our group camp site decreasing the available tent area by quite a bit. The camp hosts came by to let us know about some bear activity, did not replace the toilet paper at all over the three days we were there with 45 people. We ran out and when we went to find them they were off duty. It sort of seemed like they weren't really ready for the season or weren't fully staffed. Normally we really like this site, but this year was rough.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
