All around great campground! The lake was beautiful, bathrooms were clean, and campground was close to resort which offered a number of different activities. We enjoyed live music right on the lake for free! We were also very impressed with our kind, helpful, and generous our camp host (Becky) was!

Campsite was great overall. It was a little sloped for our tent, but we were able to find a good spot for it the second day.

Nice campground, good kayaking on the lake. Lots of hiking trails in the area. Mosquitoes were not bad being it was the end of the August. The Elk Lake resort is walking distance from the campground if you want to eat out. Cell reception is fairly good.

What a great little camp ground. Close to the lake and the lodge. We loved our site minus the Hwy being so close and all the mosquitos (seriously bring repellent! The citronella candles and stickers wont work!) firewood is available and there are a few item for purchase at the lodge, also food at the restaurant! Great Lake to swim at or paddleboard! Highly recommend!

Great access to the beach. Very close potable water. Pit toilet was clean. Due to the size of lake it almost feels like the ocean at night.

Site 11 has nonexistent parking. Stayed in a small campervan and had to share site 10's parking to get somewhat level. The mosquitoes in June are comparable to Diamond Lake, hungry and plentiful. The trail isn't clear so we had folks walking through our campsite became a regular thing.

I would totally come back here to stay! A few issues I booked site 10, I have a 16 ft trailer this site stated would be able to fit. Upon arrival the only way to park our trailer in the site we would have had to back down the dead end road to the site. Poor design or should be listed as tent only/ van camping only. Luckily site 7 was first come first serve and the campground was pretty empty during the week days so we transferred our reservation and stayed in 7. The bathroom was clean the water spout was close and walking distance. We rented a kayak from the resort despite steep price $25/ hour.. caught some brook trout just from shore. Would come back again.

Nothing new here, that other reviews have not said, but "metoo" is useful.I have been coming to Elk Lake for years, only over nighting since 2022.The road in is paved asphalt, just one lane and a bit narrow. The host is in the first spot, but we did not talk to them. Others said the host was nice. The toilets and sites were clean, the dumpsters had room for more trash. The road narrows down near the day use area, and people park on the road, so I suggest cars only down to that area.The site was roomy for my 25' motor home, I backed in with the help of a spotter. I was titled 2.8 degrees to the side, and 1 degree down in the back. Easily fixed with my jacks. Lots of cure chipmunks, some fat. Nice a quiet, only a little highway noise during the day. A short walk to the toilets and water, a little further to the say use area and beach, then a bit more to the lodge. The lodge restaurant closes at 6:30pm , so don't miss dinner like we did.There was a bit of smoke from the Bedrock fire, not enough to drive anyone away. For a few hours you could not see Mt. Bachelor. The lake is clear and warm. Good kayaking. The wind can come up, and turn, in the afternoon, so keep a weather eye. Some bugs on the lake edges, but nothing that bit me.Most people we met were locals, or regulars. Several were walking the PCT and had come to the lodge for provisions. All we mete were nice. My dog played with some of the other dogs.Some of the reserved sites were nover used. Please cancel if you are not going to make your reservation!.My T-Mobile bounced from 5-bars of LTE to 1-bar of 5G and back again. Voice and SMS good, web pages were slow.

Campsites clean and restroom was clean and stocked except for the one near the day use area. Wish money could be spent updating picnic tables.

Elk Lake is a gem. Beautiful! Its too bad every time Im there, there are a large number of campsites with Reserved signs on them, but no one in the campsite!! I find this everywhere! Its not fair to those that want/need a camp site. Most should be 1st come 1st serve!!

Clean and good location to the water / beach

We have been camping at Elk Lake for over 20 yrs. And have always had a great experience. However, we needed to speak with the hosts on our recent stay and for the two days we were there they had a NOT AVAILABLE sign. Left a note to have them please come to see us at our campsite - never did. Unprofessional and disappointing.

2 trips there this summer. The camp host was not good at all! Ran out of water and toilet paper. She was there maybe 2 hours of that trip. Next trip, she let out neighbors be loud all night…
@KimW8616866 · Camped on Jun 26, 2023 at Campsite #2
There was no water at this campground for reasons that were not made clear, and I was not informed ahead of time so I could prepare accordingly. I had to drive out of the way just to get water to use. This was during the summer peak season, so I'm not sure why they are limiting water at a campground during the summer. It seems like this could be a safety issue. Additionally, the restrooms were vault toilets that were not maintained and supplied with toilet paper.
@AllysonFD7BF6E · Camped on Jun 21, 2023 at Campsite #9
Our site was pretty slanted so we had to set up our tent in the one spot they was flat. It was an easy walk down the hill to the beach/lake. It was beautiful and quiet. Mosquitos (mid June) were a pain but we’d go back!
@HarrietB670D4E · Camped on Jun 19, 2023 at Campsite #17
One bathroom was filthy, really gross, and obviously had been for a long time. The resort has encroached even more than last time we were there. Resort guests very noisy. We had reservations for 4 nights, and left after 2, which is how much we did not like the place. Only one clean bathroom (one hole) for the ENTIRE campground, and this was in June.

Very nice campground! We stayed in campsite 14 and were able to fit two tents, with extra room. This campsite is by the restroom but we were not disturbed by it. A short walk to the water and the Elk Lake hike. Pretty busy when we stayed in August. Very clean campground and restroom. Would stay again!

The campground was great, HOWEVER the registration process was NOT. According to the online site, there were no single campsites available for the 2 consecutive nights we planned to be there, so we reserved 2 different sites, paid more than the first come, first served fees, and thought we would have to move after the first night. When I tried to call on the phone, I got someone in Texas who could not help (I live in WA and the campground is in Oregon). It turned out that NO ONE camped in those sites either night, so we could have had either one for our 2 consecutive nights. The wrong names were on the "reserved" posts at the site, NOT including our name and making it look like someone else would be there, not us. The first site was in the blazing sun with no shade, so we switched to a "first come, first served" site which we stayed at for both of our nights. Fortunately, the campground was not anywhere near full, so no one was inconvenienced by our change, but we could not update it online and there was no camp host present.

Awesome lake, it was nice to have the resort close by, live music, food, ice cream and drinks!
@MichaelaW12151 · Camped on Aug 5, 2022 at Campsite #11
Site 11 should not be listed as a trailer or RV friendly site, we have a pop up and we could barely get turned around in the little turn around area by the site. It was also unclear as to where the parking spot for the site actually was. The parking spot we ended up using faced out into the turn around area and there was a tent site directly next to us as well. This site would be great as a tent site though, it is on the end and has a trail down to the water!

This is a really nice but busy campground right next door to Elk Lake Resort. It has a boat ramp, a nice little beach, and you can very easily walk next door to the resort. It is close to the road but is quiet at night. You’ll need to make reservations but there are a few sites that are first come first serve. There are no hookups. There is garbage service at pit toilets and they are clean. I would definitely stay here again
@Emmaleigh25683 · Camped on Jul 17, 2022 at Campsite #22
The reservation system used for this campground is ridiculous. We were there for a week and there were multiple open sites each night that were “reserved” but nobody showed up. It was disappointing to see campsites not being utilized when they could have been. The beach was great and we had a ton of fun! It would be nice if the reservation system actually worked.
@EllenC9303434 · Camped on Jul 11, 2022 at Campsite #20
This is the first year without a campground host. This campground gets many many people and there is definitely the need! The reservation system just does not work! 25% of the campsites reserved were empty! Without a camp ground host they can at least make adjustments if no one shows so the camp site is open. People who make reservations and no show need to be fined! With the demand for camping having grown exponentially adjustments have to be made. We have been to this campground every year for the last 42 years! Unfortunately the system regulating the camp ground now is not camper friendly. In addition there was a broken water line right in the middle of our campsite. We were there one week and no came to repair it. It was a huge tripping hazard!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
