My husband and I travel all over the country staying at several Parks. This Park by far has the CLEANEST vaulted toilets. The whole camp is very well maintained and clean. The camp host was very helpful and informative. I told him I hope he stays as camp host every year !! This is a definite place we will come back and bring our friends !

Little Elden is a lovely setting and extremely well maintained. The setup is perfect for camping with our horses plus riding options directly from camp are extensive

Always love staying at Little Elden! The camp host, Jason, spent time checking us in and updating us about the area, and he kept the entire grounds immaculate.

Campground was very clean. Plenty of dumpsters for horse manure and trash. Water spigots spaced well throughout the campground. Level or almost level, pull through sites. High lines at each site. Well thought out campground for horses. Clean, newer pit toilets. Nice, well maintained trails right from camp.

Great campground!! Very well maintained; JJ, the camp host is kind, available, shares pertinent information and keeps the entire campground clean and appealing. I spent 4 nights there in September and am eagerly looking forward to my next visits! The trails, views and total experience was amazing!!

Our host was fantastic! Made sure everything was good with the site, the bathrooms were the cleanest Ive ever seen them and he was actually using the drag to smooth out the horse and trailer areas! Everything was top notch!

Such a great place to camp! The camp sites are large and very well maintained. The campground including the bathrooms were very clean. The camp host was very helpful, gave us some ideas on different trails to ride. There were plenty of water spigots near the sites with hoses. Most sites had a high line already but we put up our own so it could accommodate all of our horses. There is also a larger corral in the middle that’s first come first serve our horses enjoyed rolling in the soft dirt. Great campground will defiantly be back! One word of caution if using GPS to navigate…don’t it'll…most likely take you down 6 miles of forest road to a locked gate .2 of a mile from the horse camp, just follow the 89 north to Elden Springs Road and follow it in.

Camp host was nice and bathrooms were clean but would be nice if there were corrals like groom creek horse camp.

The campground had level canpsites, a clean community horse troigh, very very clean bathrooms, plenty of shade trees, nice trails and a camp host who came to our canpsites to welcome us. I’ve recommended it to friends and definately will go back.

Been coming here for 18 years. Surprised this year that less than half the camp sites were occupied over a weekend. A new outhouse was installed since our last visit in 2020 and it is a great improvement over the last one. Camp host was very helpful and friendly. Always a good group of campers come to this campground

Easy entrance to sites, some sites on the far side are better entered against the circle..if not the slope will put the truck and the front of the trailer real high. I have a 3 horse lq and found my site (13) sideways level. Plenty of water faucets near each site. Camp host, Jason, was busy keeping the area free of excessive pine needles, fallen branches and keeping the sites smooth. Vault bathrooms were just updated and super clean. Understand the the Government uses ExploreUSA to employ site hosts and I can say this camp has a great one. Great riding and the weather was such a nice change from Tucson. Trail intersections well marked, good signal to get riding apps so easy to find new areas to ride through. Heart trail near the top had a young bear on the trail so turned around not to upset the mom bear or my horse. Loads of deer esp at Deer hill.

The camp looks great, and there's a very nice new host this year. The fire damage didn't get into camp (it's about two miles to the north) so there is great riding.

Linda the camp host was amazing. All the sites were very nice and clean. Only downfall was a group of mountain bikers that were issued the permit 10 years ago to use the equestrian only campsite. This does not make sense. They were not respectful of the rules. While I did not necessarily have an issue with them other horseback riders did. All in all beautiful stay

We love the facility. Linda our camp post was very helpful and pleasant. Although I have one concern. It is a horse camp with animals. And there was a group of bicyclists that came in. Which made the situation somewhat dangerous. Someone rode through camp on their bicycle. Other than that everything was perfect. Thank you so very much hope to come back soon.

What a great place! My only suggestion would be to add 1 stall per site, like Groom Creek has. Also, I am concerned hearing rumors that you may be opening up our few horse camps to Non-horse campers! PLEASE DON'T do that! I like to camp other places as well when I'm not horseback riding (I ATV also), but opening up to others would ruin our experience! The campgrounds may not have been used as much in the last couple years due to Covid & forest closures (drought & fires), but we NEED these spaces kept for horses only to preserve our space & trails & safety!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
