Loved my time at this cabin. The dogs were so happy they refused to leave. I only stayed one night, but once I arrived I wanted to stay longer, unfortunately it was already booked. Great views of sunrise and sunset, totally secluded with very easy check-in, check-out.

Always the best place and best stay. My family loves the cabin so much, and we hope to return every year.

Easy to get too, clean and neat, easiest check in and out ever. Needs a lil maintenance on the fireplace handles and equipment. We will be back again

There's so much I love about this cabin: the views, peace and quiet, well-appointed kitchen, wood-burning fireplace, nearby hiking opportunities...the list goes on. The Forest Service does a splendid job of keeping the place ship-shape, and renters seem to do a conscientious job of leaving the place spic-'n-span. I'm so thankful for the USFS cabin rental program, which makes historic/vintage cabins like this one available to the public. I wish there were more of them.The only downside to our visit this time was that some critter was trying to chew through a wall. The upside was that it entertained my dog.

We got to enjoy the rain and sun both and it made the experience out of the world. Super clean and all the amenities were provided.

Looooved the cabin. Can’t wait to go back. The isolation and the views are beautiful. No outlets. Oven is small but works perfectly. We didn’t ever get low on power with lights and left one on all night but it was summer. Vault toilet house was so clean. 4 twins upstairs. 2 full futons. And full bed in bedroom. The futons were very very dusty and had dog hair on them. It was 39* in the morning when we got up but we didn’t use the wood stone and were totally fine with our down blankets.

This place is a gem. Just the right balance of off-grid, rustic, and modern conveniences. Bring headlamps and check out the lava-tube cave nearby!

It’s my 3rd time at this sublimely beautiful place. The cabin, and it’s simplicity, allows you to enjoy the surroundings which is one of the more serene and gorgeous environments.

Nice cabin with Beautiful scenery. Solar panel provides lighting which worked through the night. The light for the bathroom only lasted a few hours of the night. We will go again.

I/We have stayed at Kendrick Cabin many times over the past several years and it never disappoints. The cabin is frequently updated (new futons, new area rugs, solar lighting now instead of propane, for ex.) and almost all of its visitors leave it clean and are respectful of the privilege of using it. The location is unbeatable, with beautiful sweeping views of the San Franciso Peaks, Kendrick Peak, the grasslands and smaller hills all around... And there are so many nearby activities to enjoy and to introduce to visitors to our beautiful state. This is a happy place for me and my family, and I am so appreciative of those who maintain it. I only wish it hadn't become so popular, because it's really difficult to book these days!

A great cabin but avoid in late fall. Leaky windows led to a cold night (16 degrees) even with the fireplace. Next time summer or fall.

Great out of the way place, yet not too far off the highway. Lots of forest service roads around the area great for mountain biking.

Beautiful sunset and sunrise. Our group enjoyed splitting firewood, cooking outdoors, hiking, games at the dining table, and a visit to the nearby lava cave.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
