Great campground. Quiet, very private sites with lots of room. The lake access sites are amazing! First time visitor but will be back 100%!

Nice campground most sites are spread out so you have some privacy. A little disappointed there wasn't a sewer dump or even a water spigot to fill up your RV. You have to access those amenities at Winne dam campground. No boat launch on site but the have a fish cleaning shack which is nice. Overall a nice campground.

Had a great time. Mosquitoes were bad come 9:30. Tolerable during the day. Facilities were clean except for a lack of hand sanitizer.

Been camping at Onegume for 30 plus years but anymore we can never get a site on the lake. Its impossible! And now all the sites must be reserved so no first come first serve. So the people who live up here cant even get a decent site. And its the same people camping there week after week, all summer long. I live 15 miles from this campground and havent been able to get a lake site for 10 yrs! Whats the deal??? Its not right! Also the check out time is messed up. It used to be that your last paid day was the last night you camped there and you left the next morning. But now its that you pay for that last day but have to be out of the site by 1 that day. Whats the deal. Again not right. You paid for that day so you stay til the next day. Its not fair! But I must say the hostess at this site is just a great lady! Shes a true Northern Mn camper. She does a bang up job! So in closing I want to say that you need to go back to the way it was before. With not all the sites, including all the lake sites, be first come first serve, so the people who live and work up here, and arent so computer literate, can get a decent lake site once in a while. And back to first come first serve til the end of May for reserving all the sites. Its the fair way for the area people. Thanks!

Site 7 has 2 large trees, 1 on each side, that make backing into the site a challenge, as it is pretty narrow. Will probably not use this site a g ain.

It`s always fun to come to Onegume Campground, a very well kept up park. A nice place to enjoy the outdoors, go fishing with a boat or fish from the pier & take in the sunshine. If we catch a fish it`s always a bonus while visiting with friends. The hosts are always ready to help if necessary. We were just there for opener with several other friends that we have camped with for many years. Except for the wind, it was perfect.

Very sad to see the campground with a lot of empty sites including highly wanted lake sites just because someone has them reserved for a few days. We do not like this reservation system at all. These city weekenders are not spending money in our local establishments like the locals who have been camping for years and staying much longer. I believe this is a true shame seeing these empty sites and not to mention the loss of revenue. We have been camping for 50 years and never seen anything so stupid as this reservation thing. The younger generation also is giving up camping because of all the hassle to reserve 6 months ahead of time. Not playing this game anymore.

All I can say it was a great stay!!! I've been going there since I was a year old and now I'm 23 and brought my 2 year old with!!!! Best campground in the Chippewa National Forest. I want to recommend fishing how to do's before going on the dock, I see people with the most ridiculous fishing set ups and I go down there with 23 years of experience and pull in keeper fish after keeper fish while people can barley pull in a tiny perch. I'd show people how to rig their stuff up to catch fish but nobody listens!!!!

We have been returning to this campground for 7 years now. There was a new host this year. We will probably give it one more go next year but this is what bothered us. The host riding around on a lawnmower at any given time of day, power tools, and DOGS!!! There was constant barking off in the distance like someone locked their pet in a camper and left for 3 days. Also, the people next to us had a dog that would yap from time to time. Which wasn't too bad. They left after one night then but then the next people that moved in had 2 dogs that would bark at anything that moved. It says wherever you made your reservation that dogs MUST BE WELL BEHAVED! Why didn't the host do something about this. Which leads me to the host riding around on a loud riding lawn mower. Back and forth and it woke me up twice. I understand quiet hours are 10-pm to 7am but that doesn't mean you should be obnoxious as soon as the clock rolls over 7am. Its a vacation. Its nice to sleep in a little. So back to the neighbors with the 2 dogs that bark at anything that moves. At exactly 7am they started running drills and hammers building something in their campsite... They did the night before as well. So annoying... On a positive note. The campground itself is really nice. Lots of coverage between sites. (except ours ironically which had a wide path mowed between the 2) they should let that grow in. Toilets are clean and don't stink. Drinking water is delicious. Nice dock. Good fishing, depending on the time of year.

Nice campground. There is a nice open area near the fishing dock to hang out and play some games. The mosquitos were pretty bad, but the dragonflies were out in force near the dock area to keep them somewhat managable, at least in that area. No swim area, but you could get in the water near the dock. We went to East Seelye Bay campground area (NF campground) and went swimming at their beach. There are several boat landings to get in the water. Nearby there is 1 just south of the campground and 1 just north across the bridge. Both were nice, though the 1 north of the campground was obviously much busier and had 2 lanes to get in/out of the water. We kayaked everyday we were at the campground. Campground does not have a dump station or water fill station, so be prepared. There is a dump station at the Winnie Dam campground (NF campground) about 9 miles away that was convenient enough. Overall, we had a great experience at Onegume and would camp there again.

Our campsite was mowed & ready for our arrival. Bathrooms were always clean & stocked. Don’t think anything could be done to help this, but the bugs were absolutely horrible, so bad we hid in the camper every night.

Nice clean and quiet! Everyone are usually friendly and helpful, look out for one another. Site is good sized

Called and was told site 48 was large and level considered a hcp site so felt comfortable booking it. We have a 32 foot 5th wheel. After several attempts to back into the site we gave up. The drive into the site is narrow with trees on both sides. Also being on the end of the loop there isn't enough room to back in. A regular camper there came by and told us it's the worst site in the park. He has seen several people having trouble backing in . It may be ok for a small camper or tent. Luckily there was a cancellation on another site & the host was able to move us. There is no swimming beach. Mosquitos are horrible and the dumpsters were over flowing. No dump station or boat launch. Some of the lakeside sites looked nice. The web site needs to be updated with correct info on each site. We stayed 5/31/23 - 6/4/23. We most likely won't book here again.

Everything was great except the fish cleaning house freezer was terrible. Full of carcasses and stinky

I enjoy spending time at Onegume but I wish some of the trees would be trimmed up in the sites as well as bringing in some class 5 to the sites. The area has beautiful hiking areas in early May before the bugs hatch.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
