The campground was clean, well maintained, and in a great spot. I loved being able to see the water from part of our site and the camp host was friendly and helpful. The individual sites, however, are poorly marked. We arrived later than intended so it was dark and we had quite a bit of trouble finding our reserved location. When I found it, I realized that the post marking the site was on the edge of the cleared area *facing the trees* where there was no path.The other gripe I have about this campground is the parking. Parking adjacent to the actual campsites is extremely limited, with most sites having to use a row of parking spots designated for the campground along the main road. This may be fine for some people, but we would have much preferred a site where we could pull the car in nearby to unload and didn't have to haul everything 50 yards up a hill to get there.

My partner, our dogs, and I, had such an amazing time at cutthroat campground once again! This was our second visit and it definitely wont be our last. The sites are well kept, the hosts are informative and helpful, and we get to be right in the heart of something beautiful. We are very grateful every time we get to experience big lake. Thank you for providing us our little oasis.

The campground host was literally the best we've ever had. What a cool guy.. The campground was pretty spotless and most of the restrooms were clean. A couple of the facilities were a little bit more fly infested than the others but they were still clean.It was a great couple of days, I wish I could be back already!!

Lovely campsite-very private and close to the lake but not too far

I camped in tent site #1 at the Cutthroat Campgound, Big Lake, AZ. The site was expansive and well - shaded. It was clean and in good order. That said, I cannot recommend this site for older people or those with mobility problems. The campsite is downhill from the road, and the only available space for parking is about 20 yards from the site. Thus, a fair amount of uphill and downhill walking is needed when setting up and breaking down your camp. On the positive side, the bathroom is close and water is available at the site. Being so close to the road, traffic noise and dust may bother some.

Facilities were very nice, important to note that showers are for a fee however.

Run-down campground in a beautiful setting. On a wooded slope overlooking the lake. Trails to the walk-in sites are eroded, many sites dont have level tent pads, tables not necessarily level, and several water taps not working. Offset by peace and quiet and lake views filtered through stands of aspen, blue spruce, Douglas fir.

Loved the site and location to the water! Didn’t know the spicket didn’t have pressure but it turned out fine! The camp host was nice and helpful and we loved our time on the lake!

Some sites are on the smaller side so I’m glad we had two sites. They are strict on the one car per site (unless you pay an extra fee), but the ranger was very nice and helpful.

The hosts were very helpful and we were amazed how clean and well kept the sites were. Fishing was over the top and all the boys and leaders caught fish. (Except 1 and he says he’s cursed anyway, lol)

Campground is situated on a steep slope with some campsites accessed from the lower road and some accessed from the upper road. If your site is accessed from the lower road, it is a long walk to the bathrooms. Seems like the sites layout could be greatly improved for the lower sites.

Nice view of the lake. The site for our tent was not level and it was very very dusty. The site would be much better if they added gravel to combat the dust. The dust got everywhere. The camp hosts were very nice and everything was clean.

Beware of when they come to your campsite to see how many units there are. I never ever heard of this. It says on the reservation up to 8 people per campsite. A way to make more money beware! Be prepared to pay more money once you get there!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
