We moved from this campground to Mountain Oak campground. Lake campground is right on the highway with very small sites. We were in a B van, not a tent, so maybe that was the problem.

The campground looked decent but the camp site number 5 was really close to the restroom! As soon as we tried to set up our tent. all we can smell was the restroom. We had to leave. If you want to visit the campground do any other number except 5

Site 5 is the worst site. It was so hilly there was not a flat spot to pitch a tent. It is steps away from the bathroom so you can smell it all night. The neighbors played music until 2am so we hardly slept.

Staff was amazing and the campground was clean. What I didn't know was that there was a public bathroom literally in the campsite. So we had to deal with people coming and going day and night and the stench of the latrine.

Campground was quiet and clean, including the restrooms. We bought firewood from the host (who took care of both grounds) at the larger campground across the street. Slept well in our tent on a mostly flat spot on our site. Jackson Lake (more like a large pond) is a 2-minute walk away, there are some hiking trails nearby (though we didn't use them), and the town of Wrightwood is a 10-20 minute drive. Overall, a nice, low-key place for relaxation.

There is not host at this specific campground. They are located at the next one up the road. I mention that because a group of no less than 14 guys showed up the ONE night we were staying and they had an all out PARTY from 10:30p- 7am the following day. Non stop music and loud hooting and hollering. They were not there to camp - they never even set up tents. So, it is highly unlikely that you would experience this BUT because there was no camp host, no one was there to regulate or enforce the quiet time. It was the worst camping experience we have ever had.

Amazing camp site. Very close to Jackson Lake and to hiking trails. Definitely want to come back.

The campsites are clean and the restrooms clean also. The only issue I have is that I could not find a level ground for my tent, other than that the site was great and would recommend.

We enjoyed the stay there a lot. Already the drive up there with the RV was very nice. And the stroll around the lake the next morning and the chats with the fishermen there just added another nice touch to the nice memories we will carry with us from the stay at the campground.The only disappointment were the people which did not understand that the lid of the toilet shall always be closed immediately after use. Even after telling them they would refuse to do it. This was ver unpleasant as we got the spot directly next to the toilet and the smell was nearly unbearable. But that is of course a question of education and behaviour of the campground guests!

The good: Sites are spacious with well built fire pits and picnic tables. Parking was simple although the one way drive through direction seems to be backwards from what's intuitive. The fishing was nice, we didn't catch anything but you could see there were fish in the small lake. The road runs next to the campgrounds so there is the sound of cars and motorcycles but not unpleasant for a rider like myself.The bad: One toilet had a broken door, and the other no toilet paper. There were hundreds of flies in each stall which was pretty gross but not totally unexpected.Overall: I would recommend this place to anyone interested in easy walkable fishing access or wants to use it as a staging area for a motorcycle camping trip.

I like the location shade and peaceful wasnt many people at the camp and my little family enjoyed the camping trip the bathrooms were clean and the guy there taking care was very nice and helpful my kids liked the fact that he asked if we needed anything we felt very comfortable and the walk to the lake was very nice and safe .

There were several other campers but they were so quiet you’d never know it. A pretty spot and central to many hikes.

Quiet camp sites. Close to lake.

Beautiful campground, got there on a Friday night. Beautiful views and fresh air. No signal on phone, but we dont go camping to be on our phones. Payment was easy online kind of confusing as it was both first come first serve and reservation. No issues setting up camp. Other campers were friendly. Fished on Saturday and went home early Sunday morning. Amazing! Will be going back!

Had an enjoyable time camping in the snow. Pretty campground, did not have the chance to spend time at the lake. Good location.

Was hoping we could set up campfire to keep warm and to cook. Sadly wasn’t able to do one. Had to leave after the first night due to not being able to cook. Want to try again at a different season.

I dont like crowds and this place is great for that! Helpful camp host, clean site and restroom. Bummed that the fire restriction was in effect even as a rainstorm was blowing in, but hey--it is what it is. Lots of big trees, and the night sky is incredible here.

My family really enjoyed this campground. Our campground host David was amazing. We've been to a lot of campgrounds and David is by far the best. He made sure we had everything we needed for our stay and made sure we were comfortable. Definitely going back and hopefully David will be the host. It was real nice being able to walk right down to Jackson lake in just a few minutes. If you're looking for a small campground with spacious camp sites and a great host, this is the place.

Quiet and peaceful and well maintained.

The campsite is totally slanted. It was horrible winds and then a day into our stay the fire restrictions made it so we couldn't have any fire at all not even a propane stove. We ended up leaving after 1 night when our reservation was for 4 nights 5 days.

The campground was nice. There’s a table and fire pit at every camp. The lake is a pond, and there really isn’t much to offer. The restroom was clean. Wouldn’t return. Zero cell service.

It was very dry when we went. Lake was low and there was evidence of a recent fire a few miles away. The site was well kept and the location was quiet. We ended up leaving early because it was too hot even though the site was well shaded.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
