Hearts Content has a small no frills campground which is perfect for those who want a simple, quiet outdoor experience. The old growth forest trail passes through some of the biggest trees in Pennsylvania and lets you see what the forest might have looked like hundreds of years ago. It's great.

Wonderful campground. Spacious sites with good distance between. Great telescope sites in the two fields to check out the super dark night skies. I look forward to returning.

Wonderful campground host. Clean, orderly campground. Well-designed and we’ll-drained sites. Pit toilets were more clean and far less smelly than one might expect. Within walking distance to wonderful hiking trails.

This is such a great campground and such history there. There is some of the best hiking trails based out of this campground in the Allegheny Forest. It is nice to have this campground. I would like to see this be a no generator campground or only from 7-9am and 5-7 pm. Most campers come here for the solitude and naturalness of the wilderness.

This is one of my favorite places to camp this time we brought family and all the kids and it was perfect. A nice playground to play at and spacious sites that aren't on top of one another. Also not very busy so you don't have to worry about cars coming and going. Close to a nice trailhead and there vault toilets were clean and well taken care of.

Having a shelter made the difference between this trip being good and being miserable. Beautiful area even in the rain.

When we arrived, there was a family reunion happening, and cars were parked everywhere. After the initial attempt to park our camper in our reserved spot, the camp host moved us to another spot that was very nice. The hosts were very nice and helpful!

Nice and quiet end of season camping. Nobody there but us and the bears.

I stayed at site #11. It was my first time sleeping in an Adirondack style shelter. I set up a cot and used a modular sleep system for the night. It dipped into the low 50s but I was plenty warm and I had a nice view of the fire from my sleeping bag. I could also enjoy seeing the moon through the trees and the sun shining through the next day. The campground and campsites were in great condition and the host family were very friendly. I took advantage of hiking in the Hearts Content Scenic Area. The trail there was well maintained and traveled through some very impressive old growth forest. I also took advantage of hiking some of the North Country Trail located near by. There are other trails in and around the campground so I would consider this a hikers paradise as well. If your looking for a quiet get away I would definitely suggest you visit the Hearts Content Campground.

We had a wonderful stay at Hearts Content. The host (Jim) was extremely personable and informative. One of the cleanest campgrounds I’ve even been at.

This was my second stay at Heart’s Content, and the first with my wife and 4 year old daughter. We all had a fantastic time, and I’m hoping that we can make it an annual trip. There are a ton of trails in the area, and the old growth forest across the road from the campground is beautiful. My daughter enjoyed the playground and looking for bugs and salamanders under logs and rocks and leaf piles. My wife likes getting out and seeing various points of interest when on vacation, and the entire National Forest and surrounding areas are within day trip range of the campground. We took a day away from camp and visited Kinzua Bridge, and the Allegheny Reservoir and Kinzua Dam, and had dinner in Warren before returning to camp. In addition to hiking, I enjoy lounging around and reading when I’m on vacation, and the campground provided a nice quiet place to do so. I highly recommend Hearts Content for a nice quiet camping trip, with plenty of options for fun activities nearby.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
