The campground is great if you are just arriving and leaving the park. It took us just about 30 minutes to get to Hayden valley at dawn. Running water was nice too. As you would expect the sites are fairly close together but folks were courteous for the most part

This is a terrific campground. I had a site along the eastern edge with views of the deep Gardner River canyon. In the morning a herd of elk paraded by, with much bugling. Just a bit up the road along Beartooth Highway you can easily see herds of buffalo (on the road, too, naturally!). Plus of course it is minutes away from Mammoth Hot Springs. It has good cell service. The bathrooms are nice and well kept with flush toilets. I was sad to leave and would totally stay here again.

We spent only one night in this campground and mostly slept in our car, but this campground has the most unique views amongst the campgrounds we've stayed in. The desert landscape means spectacular views, but little privacy. The camp hosts were wonderful and the washroom good. We stayed in the tent only area, so it was quiet. Also, just 15 mins from Gardiner MT restaurants! I would love to camp here again.

Nice campground. Not too large. Quiet. Well run. Sites are well spaced out. Views. One downside a no showers. You can pay to use one of the communal showers at the cabins nearby.

You can only pitch your tent in the gravel driveway they give you. Bring loads of bedding. Its the warmest part of Yellowstone so its decently warmer at night. Its right next to the employee parking for the Mammoth lodges so there is cars constantly going up and down the road next to you at night. Having a fire when you can is a little nerve wracking, as there is a dry sage brush everywhere through the campground. Despite this it is a very well kept campground and the staff there were very friendly.

This was a great campground. We had a pretty secluded site and really felt like we were in the wilderness. We would definitely stay here again.

The campground gets a 5 stars! The night camphost/employee get 0 stars!I loved the way the campsite was set up the picnic table , food storage, fire ring, and car parking was up top then you walk down a small hill to get to the tent pad, this was so nice because you did not see car lights at night. The best part about the campground was the wonderful bathrooms there was running water, flushing toilets, it was new and so clean! The campground was quiet and peaceful during the day with elk wondering through. When checking in the employee made a point about quiet hours and that they patrol, I really liked that as we were getting up at 4 am to leave for a hike. We head down to sleep about 9pm and our neighbors are being loud but we figure at 10 they will calm down. 10 pm rolls around they keep on being loud, it is so loud I can hear them through my noise canceling headphones and my mother could hear them without her hearing aids. 10:45 rolls around another campsite screams shut the F up! We think that will bring the camp host or someone, nope it does not. They finally went to bed at 12:45am and never once did we hear someone come by from the campground.

The campground is neat and the hosts were great. There are elk that frequent this campground. Be sure and see the hot springs and drive through the Lamar valley either at dawn or dusk. Animal sightings will not disappoint but be sure not to approach the wild animals keep safe.

Kinda outta the way and forgotten, which is great! Eastside row is the best IMO, the further north the better. Classic NPS CG, its a little tight and a few more bushes to separate would be nice, but generally quiet and mellow. Excellent sunsets and the hosts this season were very gracious. Check out Slough Creek for even more isolation

Site 17 was a fairly large, flat site. Excellent, helpful campground hosts! Clean bathrooms, potable water available to fill your trailer if needed. Enjoyed our stay herevery quiet. Its a 5 minute drive to the hot spring terraces, and about 45 minutes to Lamar Valley.

We loved our stay at Mammoth Campground. We had a beautiful view of the mountains, saw a ton of elk (even with just our one night stay) and had easy access to places like Lamar Valley and Gardiner. 10/10 would stay again!

Love Mammoth Campground because of the open spaces and the beautiful skies. Especially quiet now that the North Entrance road has been re-routed.

excellent! Too far north though.

The campground has a really nice location and the sunrise/sunsets were beautiful!

The campground hosts were helpful and available to provide information and answer questions. We had unreliable cellular service via AT&T at the campground. The restroom facilities were clean and stocked. The locations of water spigots were convenient.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
