We were there late October and it was quite empty. There were many first come first serve sites available. We picked a pull through site and had a beautiful view. Elk wandered by and we did end up with a mouse guest in our van but it apparently didnt stay long! Its wild country with lots of vegetation in the sites so the critters are out looking for warmth! Just beware. Water spigots were accessible for tank fill up. We drove out to see the Mammoth sites as its a really long walk from the CG.

As a solo female traveler, I car camped in this campground and felt very safe. It is very close to a civilized area and rangers while also being beautiful and well maintained. The restrooms are wonderful, heated and have toilet paper. There is a place to dispose of trash, storage for bear food and camp tables. It is also very close to the hot springs and lots of wonderful hikes. I loved it here and would definitely recommend to other solo travelers/ women who are looking for somewhere safe to spend the night.

Lovely drive through sites, updated restroom facilities, great views, amazing stars at night!

Campsite was good and nice to have a designated area for a tent, although a little pricey considering the park is entering the offseason

Great , excellent facilities, well labeled, super tidy and well run, but also not upright.

The campground was clean and had lots of space for the two of us. The bathrooms are well maintained and the fact that it is running water is nice. The only downside is that it is rather far from large portions of the park and was the only camping option in late october.

Great place to camp in the park for a very affordable rate! I highly recommend camping here!

The campground was great. It is undoubtedly an excellent location. The staff we dealt with were friendly, attentive and professional. The facility itself was great. Lots of water spigots available for potable water (that is much better than the water from the RV park that we've stayed in at Gardiner at almost 10 times the cost/night). Being solar powered, the site is open enough to gather power to recharge our batteries, so we didn't have to resort to our generator to recharge. Site was level, had a nice picnic table and fire-pit. Bathroom facilities were well maintained and clean. I don't think we could have asked for more.

They have the most amazing staff! I made a trip back there this past weekend because I had such a wonderful experience a few weeks ago!! Bathrooms are clean, staff is great, and the sites are perfect! You can hear wild animals from your sites as you fall asleep!!

Great late season camping. It is really bad to be awaken by elk bugling at day break. The deer and elk wandered through the campgrounds around dark. The bathrooms were clean and heated. Great time.

Potable water is available throughout the campground, even in mid to late October. They told us the water would remain on until the campground closes, so you do not have to haul your own water.

Great spot and awesome that we could make reservations. Things were quiet during quiet hours.

The campground was an outstanding experience. We had two different herds of elk wander through the site on two different evenings. Because of the new road to Gardiner, the old road (below the site and in our view) has been abandoned which really added to the serenity of the experience. The bathrooms were outstanding! Nicely crafted woodwork, flush toilets, nice tile and even a heater! We met several other campers from Quebec, Ontario Canada and even a couple originally from Portugal. Everyone was really friendly. We spent three nights there and really enjoyed the northern area of the Park. I will definitely make this an annual fall event!

Good sites and staff. Elk invasion helped

The site was great pull through was definitely a plus. Table and fire pit were nice. Bathroom was very clean and soap dispensers. Recycling was great to see. Conveniently located, loved hearing the elk bugle and coyotes howling. Even caught the Northern Lights. If they had electric and water hookups I would have given a 5. Thanks

Large herd of Elks below campground. Bull #24 was in rare form. Love this campground in late fall.

Great sites (though they're close together) with elk herds wandering through. Cell service sat at 1-2 bars, which was convenient.

The location of Mammoth Campground is fabulous - being located within Yellowstone is a real treat! The site that I had reserved (25 Loop A), unfortunately, had a significant slope toward the front which made leveling challenging and a bit dangerous. After many tries, I ended up having to go the wrong way down the one-way road to position the trailer in the other direction. So normally it takes me 15-20 minutes to get set-up and this issue caused me a 1.5 hr delay in getting out in the park. The restrooms were clean and the views were beautiful!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
