It was an unexpected pleasure. Next time we are in the area, we will reserve it for more days in a row. The camp host was very friendly and a pleasure to deal with

First greeted by a very helpful campground host. Clean campsites. Clean bathrooms. Quite and a great place to stay.

This is the best campsite in Yellowstone. Private and large with picnic table and campfire ring. Easy access to creek where bisons are frequently crossing. Walking distance to Slough Creek trail and short drive to see wolves! If you want to enjoy Lamar Valley, this is the place to be.

tiny 16 site CG along a river. amazing for fishing access. some sites are better than others as far as shade and proximity to neighbors. amazing views and wildlife in the CG. would def stay here again.

Slough Creek is a very nice campground to stay, especially for hiking in the upper Lamar Valley. However, in hot weather, the lack of shade makes it uncomfortable so that your RV doesn't even cool at night. For that reason I would suggest staying there only when the high temperatures are no more than 70 degrees. Also, it is inexcusable that after two years since the 2022 flood there is still no water. The Park Service can spend money on a helicopter to go to a backcountry cabin to haul out equipment, instead of using horses, but not fix the water in a campground? That's inexcusable. Another example of their administration first, visitor last, management approach.

Amazing experience, such a quiet & peaceful campground. Host was lovely & site was even more so! Right on the river and lots of wildlife around for observing.

Perfect campground, perfect hosts. Site 8 was nice. Never heard from hosts, which is the way it should be. Will be back. Thank you.

This campground is extremely close to Lamar valley, which is pretty fun. Its also where all the wolf watchers go to spot wolf packs. We were lucky enough to see a wolf on the other side of the creek. The campground itself had very nice restrooms and the camp host is super friendly. I would have preferred a site on the creek, but our site was ok. The mosquitos are HORRIBLE!

Awesome campground in Lamar Valley. Bison wandered past the tent twice while we were there. The creek is gorgeous for swimming in. Saw wolves and bears feeding together on a bison carcass just down from the campground - a dream come true. Restrooms are spotless but no water - bring your own.

Truly amazing campsite - creek sounds, wandering bison and proximity to wolves. Between backcountry and front country camping.

This was our second time camping in Slough Creek, and it is the only place in the park well camp from now on. -The camp hosts are friendly, and knowledgeable. -There are only 16 spots, so its not overcrowded & has a strict 10 pm quiet time. -pit toilets are well maintained, and very clean! During the busy season it was so nice to have a toilet to use that wasnt disgusting like the ones throughout the park. -campground itself is by the river, a few sites are close enough to hear the rushing water and its so peaceful. It takes no time at all to get to Lamar Valley. We are wolf watchers and follow the Junction Butte pack, so camping in Slough keeps us close to them!-Black bears frequent the area which is so cool, we saw one near the river this trip!! -really the only downside is that lots of sites have zero shade. I recommend checking bringing something for shade. Some sites are much smaller than others, and have very close neighbors. -campground is in the woods but open enough for optimal star gazing. -all sites are well maintained, camping feels as luxurious as it can. I could honestly go on forever about how amazing this campground is. Just stay here. You wont regret it.

We visit Yellowstone every year and stay in Madison Campground. This was our first time spending a night at Slough. We loved every minute of it. Beautiful views, you're a 5 minute drive from Lamar Valley. Of course the best part is the wildlife right in camp. We had a young black bear walk right through camp and cross the creek. There was a coyote on the dirt road into camp. There was a Bison across the creek from camp. Lastly we had a Wolf cross the ridge across the creek. All in a one night stay. Highly recommend! PS: if you go in the summer bring bug spray, there were a lot of mosquito and flies (That's camping though)

Beautiful site. Our trailer (19 feet) barely fit in the space. Bison and bears are all around the campground (we saw both). It was great to be in a secluded spot in Yellowstone which is super crowded everywhere else. The mosquitos were bad but not as terrible as other places in the park (much worse at Fishing Bridge.)

The best campground in Yellowstone. The campground hosts are incredibly helpful and were able to tell us where to go look for animals.

It`s slough, you cant go wrong. 5g cell service in campsite 5 as-well, a big bonus.

Incredible campground near the spectacular Lamar Valley. Quiet, peaceful with friendly hosts.

I would camp outside the park near cooke city rather than site 12 or 13 at Slough creek. The campground is beautiful, small and remote but for the love of, there is more space between parking spots at Walmart than there is between these two sites, the images don't show these sites basically share a common drive, unless the person in 12 wasn't parked on their spot properly, its ridiculously close for a primitive campground, or any campground. We had a week booked but cancelled after one night because we were so uncomfortably close to the van next to us. I will try this campground again but will pass if 12 or 13 are my only choices in the future.

Beautiful campground. No communication on closing ( we were there the closing weekend) and locking of campground gate at 10 am -

Great campground! Too bad road work makes travel through Lamar Valley so time consuming.
@AaronJ7180404 · Camped on Oct 4, 2023 at Campsite #5
Always a beautiful place in the fall. However, the campgrounds are very close together. If you're sleeping in your vehicle, you'll likely be right next to another vehicle in the adjacent campground. Also, there is no water available. The pump no longer works.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
