Our reserved campsite was poached. We were able to track down the host at Paradise Campground and he put us in a decent site that was open there. I appreciate that the host found us a place to sleep but am very disappointed that there wasn't more protection of reservation rights.

Beautiful. Quiet. Water in stream very cold and rapid so danger for small kids. Easy to drive up to McKenzie Pass and nice hikes in the area. No mosquitos! But some up higher.

We have camped here for 40 years! It is our second home. We would live at Limberlost if we could!

The reservation information had not been updated at the campsite. Our site had a sign that said it was open even though we reserved it. Other sites had outdated reservation information. If someone had arrived before us they would have thought our reserved site was available. There was no way for late arrivers to know if sites were available.

So quiet and what a wonderful setting by the creek.

Sehr einsamer Campground in wunderschöner Umgebung - immer wieder gerne dort hin!

Beautiful camp sight. Across the street is a big lot with group camping which used the bathroom which was right next to our site #11. On the map 11 is not even close to the bathroom. Also check in was 2 pm that is why we chose this campground. But while cooking our lunch they came to pump the bathroom, maybe they could have cleaned bathrooms before check in. Never saw any host, but my name was on campsite, so they must come around. Other wise the camp grounds was nice.

Clean, quiet and an accommodating camp host. Couldn't ask for more.

The campground was a beautiful white spot. Beautiful old-growth forest.

Lovely campground, but sites can be double booked.

When we arrived there was someone else already in our reserved site. They camped there because the sign on the post read, "Open." There were no camp hosts around to talk to about it. Luckily, there was an open site that we were able to get our small camp trailer into. Also, a homeless guy looking for "something with caffeine" harassed us until I became forceful and told him to move on. Once again, there was no one around to report this to.

Great spot, nice river access. You’re more alone than the other site. One issue- toilet smell can be annoying but it’s more at the parking pad than where you set up the tent.

This campground is excellent. The vault toilets are clean and well stocked. Lost Creek is great for cooling off and makes nice babbling stream sounds. The campground is filled with old cedar and fir trees. Sites 8 and 9 are a good pair for larger groups. Site 11 has room for about 4 tents. Site 10 is isolated and close to the water but only has enough room for one tent. HWY 242 is generally quiet, especially at night. We had a blast driving up HWY 242 to hike Proxy Falls and visit the Dee Wright Observatory. The McKenzie River General Store was 10 minutes away and great for stocking up. We rented aluminum row boats at Clear Lake (20 minutes away) and had a great time. Visiting the Belknap Hot Springs (10 minutes away) and gardens was a nice treat. Will come back to visit again!

Due to a lack of local knowledge, and the forest fire road closure (Aufderheide) we were not able to camp at Limber Lost as we had planned. Our refund claim is in process but has yet to paid:(

Site 10 was perfect. Very private and a small river access.

Limberlost is a nice little campground! All of the sites are in very close proximity to water; although, the access is pretty steep and rocky (but not impossible!). The sites are relatively close together, but the layout and trees offer decent privacy. Site 12 is right on the road, so be aware of that. Otherwise, the road isn't visible or within earshot of the other sites. There is no water! We knew this, as it's listed on the site; however, we were asked by multiple campers where they could find water.

Small, forested, shady campground but sites are closer together than many other NFS campgrounds. Nice to go to sleep at night listening to the river next to my site. Note that there is no potable water supply at this campground.

If you have a trailer over 15 feet don’t bother. No way in with a 27ft and no way out. Unable to get ahold of anyone and canceling (which Rec.gov wouldn’t even let me do ) resulted in 4.00 back. It was a completely wasted drive. If we had been able to fit looks like it was a nice place. Plan to tent camp if you are interested.

One of my favorite campgrounds!

Nice small campground on lost creek, a large creek which is definitely fly fish able. Some of the sites would not fit my truck and camper. 10 and 11 are probly the best. Site 1 is great for a tent site. This campground is a great base camp for McKenzie river adventures

AWESOME CAMPGROUND!! Do NOT book site 3 though. Literally every other site is perfect. Number 3 has some sort of pipe from the restrooms (gross) and with the fire ring and picnic table .. it leaves basically zero space for anything else because you don’t want your tent anywhere near the disgusting gooey looking pipe.. which also SMELLS all the time. Will book this spot again but now I know! Not #3 lol

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
