Great spot and great access to some amazing hikes. The parking area of my campground site (6) was not level therefore the bed in my van was at an angle. Otherwise than that, great campground.

This was a beautiful place to stay with wonderful sounds of the waterfall and family friendly. There was easy access to a lot fun adventures, such as trails to hike and ride bikes. Some things that could be better are the access to water (theres only 1 water station for the whole campground) that was not easy for many to use/pump as the lever would get stuck, and there was no campsite host or rangers to refill toilet paper or help with water access. If accessibility to water was easier with at least 2 water stations, this place would be one the best campsites.

Weve camped at this campground twice now and have had an overall good experience. The location is beautiful and proximity to Koosah Falls, other waterfall hikes as well as Clear Lake is great for accessing daytime activities. However, our experience was complicated by insufficient access to water at this campground. One water pump was completely out of commission and the other, which required a further walk required so much effort to pump that it was almost impossible to get enough water out each day. It seemed broken and almost stuck. There was no explanation for this in our reservation details or on any notice at the campground and we could not find anyone other than other campers to ask about the situation.

Location was great for waterfall hikes. It was nice to be able to just hike from our campsite. The trails are in great condition. When chosing this location, I felt that there would be easy access to the lake itself, and there is not. The road to the day use area is closed which almost spelled disaster when we could barely turn around. Make sure to check if the day use area is open to be able to enjoy the lake.

The night we stayed there were only a few other campers.It was peaceful and really nice to here the rushing waters of the river.

A nice quiet campground with lots adventures nearby. The hiking was great. It was nice being able to walk the trails down to the reservoir and up to the waterfall. My only complaint is that the hand pump water was not working well. They need to get that fixed.

We love this campground. Big sites, wonderfully maintained, low key and quiet. Wonderful camp host. Its our second year in a row and we will probably be back and back and back.

Great little campground. Clean bathrooms, respectful neighbors, and the constant sounds of the creek/river drown out the road. Site 21 was probably the most private, which was a big plus, but it wasn't without it's downsides. It's down below the road, so you'll be loading and unloading via stairs. The site is also on a decent slope except for one single-tent-sized area. I would not recommend this site if you will have more than one tent.

Very clean camp with easy access to BEAUTIFUL waterfalls and a path along a beautiful river. You can also hike to Blue Pool from here, which I definitely recommend. There is water available through a manual pump, but I don't know if it's potable. There are some mosquitoes around and plenty of chipmunks that will 100% steal your food if you even blink.

Such a treat to stay at Ice Cap! Loved that the falls are so close and being close to many other places such as Clear Lake and Tamolitch falls. Site 21 was amazingly secluded and had a creek running right through it. The bathrooms were also spotless and the camp host was super helpful. Only downside were the mosquitoes!!! We left with so many bug bites. Otherwise, this is an amazing campground.

Beautiful campground

Ice cap campground is a gateway to trails to few places. Shahalie falls and Koosah. I also was hearing the blue pool. The campground is primitive with vault toilets that were clean! And a pump well for water. Beautiful serene place our campsite was overlooking the reservoir and I fell was the best with little highway noise. Will definitely be back!
@ShannonR610855 · Camped on Aug 18, 2022 at Campsite #7
Great campground...nicely separated from other sites so you are not on top of each other. Lovely sound of the river rushing. Super nice and clean toilets. Amazing hikes right there to the Waterfall Loop and down to the Blue Pool! Perfect no cell service for Verizon to check out from the world. Highly suggest this campsite!

There was no water available at this campground. The water hand pumps didn't work.

You can camp here and easily walk to see Koosah falls. It was quiet we all had a good nights sleep. There wasn’t any internet and no potable water.

Great campground, particularly for tent camping in a quiet, peaceful environment. The bathrooms were the nicest and cleanest of any forest service bathroom I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot! Our site was raked prior to check-in, which is truly above and beyond any service I'd expect. Even the dumpsters were nice and new. Our site was on the McKenzie River side, and we could not hear the highway -- just the relaxing sound of rushing water. There was space to pitch multiple tents. The parking area was pretty steep and not suitable for sleeping in a van or truck camper -- definitely no room for an RV. Excellent proximity to Koosah and Sahalie Falls by foot, and a short drive to Clear Lake or the Blue Pool.

Love Ice Cap Campground, the host's were great people and everything was Very Clean and well maintained. I have been going to this campsight for the past 45 years....we really, really miss the fishing at Carmen, it was one of the reasons we began going there! My kids are bigger but they and their families all come up at least once a year to join us....but, we have to go somewhere else to fish! Very dissappointed in the slow progress made with the diversion work! If you want good camping though and wonderful central location Ice Cap can't be beat....

We thoroughly enjoyed our camping trip to Ice Cap Campground. Quick walk to the Koosah Falls trailhead. Easy access to Clear Lake and Blue Pool. The camp host was super nice! Toilets were clean and regularly clean during our three night stay. Clean and nicely sized sites.

Bathrooms were reasonably clean, although just pit toilets. The water pumps didn't work that great though. The actual camp site was nice.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
