This is such a peaceful campground! The sound of the river was very relaxing and calming. We were lucky no kids were around when my wife & I stayed for a night on our way to Crater Lake.

There are some great riverside campsites here, some with excellent space, privacy, and river access. Others are smaller, less scenic, and very close to the road. Worth your money to plan ahead and reserve a primo site if possible! Four stars because restrooms were pretty dirty when I was there.

The site was by the river and was adequate for the two of us. We camped there so that we could get up early and drive to the Marion Lake Trailhead in order to hike up to Marion Lake. This campground was only ten minutes from the trailhead.The only negative aspect was that we had to park fairly close to our neighboring camper and they slept in their camper so we may have disturbed them as we left so early.The campground is a lovely place and the restroom was clean and the water faucet fairly close. We used this site last year and recommend it.

Really nice campground with a very relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere. We had a family reunion campout, and this was a great place for us all to get together. Fun playing in the river.

Amazing stay at Riverside, will be returning. Running water, restrooms and close proximity to several swimming areas including Detroit lake.

1. The park host up charged us for extra parking. Website says $8 per night and he charged $10 per night. I asked him to honor the site and he said no, he isn’t making a fuss over $2. There is inflation as he called it. 2. Only two spots 22 and 23 have river access. There isn’t a trail to get to the water unless you walk through those camps.

HUGE campsites. Some sites are open to their neighbors while others have more coverage. We had both 14 and 15, that were open to each other which made it great for a larger group camping together.

We had a great site, #18, away from the road and along the river. The host was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, there was no water due to damage at a nearby pump house. It was scheduled to be fixed by the time we arrived but there were delays. We ended up leaving a day early. We would stay there again later in the fishing season - the river was too high and had not been stocked yet. Nearby Detroit Lake area had fun activities.

This is our second trip to Riverside at Detroit. The sites are large, campground and camp sites are very clean. Our spot was adjacent to the river and it was lovely to listen to it at night. Our campground hosts were very friendly and helpful. Our site was quiet and shady. The campground is conveniently located right off Route 22. It is close to the road so some might be bothered by traffic but it didn't bother us at all. We will definitely return!

We stayed during the week and we had the place to ourselves! A lot of hiking and recreation in the area. A rushing river right next to our site. The campground is along the highway but since it was so close to the water, we couldn’t hear the road. We camped in a tent and most folks camp in the RV’s it seemed

Absolutely beautiful small campground with lots of room between the huge campsites. The camp hosts did a good job keeping things clean and calm. Our new favorite place.

Loved the space, and easy access to the river. Road noise was distractive, but the river’s ripple compensated.

I see others have mentioned the highway noise so I won't go on about it but it's loud. The grounds were in good order mostly. The bathroom closest to my site was closed for some reason. But the other bathroom, although a bit of a walk away, was clean. Also, small mention but my neighbors were so close.

We camped for 3 nights at site #18. It was the most peaceful, serene, and private camping experience we had this summer. The sound of the river was truly amazing, we also had great views of the river. The host was very nice.

I was not able to stay at Riverside due to smoke. Other than that, it appeared to be a nice spot.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
