Wonderful campground. I woke Monday morning as the only camper there. Very peaceful.

This campground is very nice. The sites are spacious and clean. The restroom was clean too. There's plenty of potable water spikes and sink waste water disposal areas. We enjoyed talking to Jay, the park staff. She was very helpful in answering our questions and had a very pleasant attitude. Other than the bad weather we had while there (hail and rain storm for hours!), we really enjoyed camping at this campground.

10/10. Beautiful. Quite. Secluded. No host on site while we were there but the forest Rangers came by multiple times a day to check on things and take care bathrooms. Some sites were kind of small but others were roomy. Great views at all the river side sites. The sites on the road side were bigger and had tons of shade though.

Clean campground. Camp host was kind and accommodating. Site 16 has highway noise, but not loud enough that we couldnt sleep through it. Enjoyed our stay.

Stayed at whispering falls campground for the first time and will be making it an annual trip. The falls access is a short trail that is hard to find due to fire damage but it is located between sites 10 and 9. The river trail is located by park manager and is well labeled. Most river spots had access on their own down to the river. We stayed in spot 10, it had a spot for one large tent and one small tent, the best tent spot at 10 was taken up by a man made stick canopy structure which would have required a lot of effort to break down. Luckily, I booked a 2nd spot just in case my group of 7 would not have had tent space. Site 10 had direct access to bathrooms and water. Minimal road noise due to load river sound. The other site I booked was 13, it was very shaded and private but had lots of road noise. Site 13 did have 3 spots for tents. Parking was 9 dollars per day( not 8 like website states) first car is included in site. Site 10 and 13 could have easily parked 3 cars but park manager said only 2 vehicles per spot so plan accordingly if you have a large group. My group had the best time going to the river especially my 4 year old. We found a variety of frogs, newts, blue tailed skinks, crawdads, and grasshoppers. Mosquitos in august were minimal. Each person got a few bites over the 2 days we were there, which was pretty good in our opinion. We did use a variety of bug repellents though so it could have been worse. Overall great stay, highly recommend!

The campground is nice, but right off the highway. Can hear the cars whizzing by all the time. My site was #3. By far the worst site. Metal chain link fence in the back of the site and I felt like I was a trapped zoo animal. It is smaller than most sites as well. The first-come first-serve sites are much better than #3. I was not able to move to the #6 or #7 site without canceling my reservation at #3 (and thus losing most of the money) and then paying for the other site. DO NOT CAMP AT SITE #3!!! The bathrooms were VERY clean and actually smelled good. Very little internet service.

For primitive camping, I say this place is good. We had spot 16, nice and big and away from other campsites. Only downfall it’s close to highway but we had no issues with sleeping. Camp manager is very friendly and attentive. Bathrooms were clean for being vault toilets, manager is very good with keep up. We missed the trail to the river and didn’t get to explore it. Wish we had seen the sign earlier. We did find a way down to water from campsite 10, which hope to get next time.

Nice small campground in the trees next to a river. Vault toilet was clean.

Primitive camping on the Santiam River. We had a double site but wasn’t really that much bigger. Still, it was good coming off the horrific fires the previous summer. The water was turned off at the time but we received a discount for the inconvenience. Our spot had a trail to the River but shared with the site next to us that, unfortunately, was a group of young adults whereas we had young grandkids with us. It was quiet with very little road noise. Not our favorite place but still recommend.

So beautiful and quiet I am so happy this camp ground/site was open when we wanted to get out of town. New adventure and truly had a great time.

Campsite 14 was unusable. Felled trees covered the entire camp site preventing us from setting up anything. Luckily no one was there when we went so we snagged another site.

Last year’s fires left their mark, but it’s still a good campground even it it’s not as beautiful as before. No water when we stayed in June 2021. I think that kept some folks away which meant we almost had the place to ourselves!

One of our favorites. This year was was not a host yet so the pit toilets ran out of TP and no wood for sale on site. I can understand the staffing issue. I have since been backed more times and there is a awesome host Sergeio.

Great little campground! Tons of mosquitos though, and the campsites are a bit close. There was a large group in the one next to me and I could hear them throughout the night. Also received an email a few days before saying there won't be water there for the 2021 season.

Clean and private campsites, fantastic host. 4-9 have the river access, but 12-16 have the bulk of the trees. I loved it, will definitely be returning.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
