Peak One is a great balance of incredible mountain biking, fun on the water and close to Frisco for in town activities.

I was pleasantly surprised by the waitlist system. I was able to get a site even though the campground was sold out when I first tried to book.

Shame they haven't fixed the restrooms yet from last winter's damage.
@EveKEA100D3791 · Camped on Aug 1, 2024 at Campsite #54
The toilets were out of order and we weren't notified ahead. They had porta loos instead. There was running water for drinking but it say not to use for anything but drinking, so no washing up or washing hands or anything. Very poor. If we had been made aware ahead we could have found somewhere alternative.

peak One is a well maintained campground. Our site was situated well, where we had screening from neighbors. Not all sites have that. It was a short walk to the Lake, and there are nice hiking/biking trails right there.

This campgrounds has no electricity, shade, or waste dump site. The cost is excessive considering that it is dry camping. It is more reasonable to drive 15 minutes north on Highway 9 and boondock for free.

Lovely campground with fairly private spaces. Dense young trees and beautiful wildflowers in summer. Lake access was great. Bathrooms were closed but portopotties were there as a replacement. We hope to come back!

Our stay at Peak One campground was awesome! Our site was within walking distance to the shore of Lake Dillon, where we launched our kayak. There was plenty of space between sites, and the campground was SO quiet and peaceful and safe. We will definitely return.

Very nice campground with close access to the lake, Frisco and Dillon are nearby and easily accessible. Bike trails looked well maintained.

This is really an ideal spot for easy family camping. Just a few steps from the reservoir and you can drop in a kayak or paddle board or watch an amazing sunset over mountains and water. Very close by are a range of options for hiking and biking - easy to more challenging trails, short to long trails. You're about 10-20 minutes from a gas station or Walmart if you forgot something critical. It's not secluded, if that's what you're looking for. Also when we went recently the bathrooms were out of service and replaced by porto-potties. I believe this is a temporary thing. The grounds are well-kept. The staff is friendly.

Stayed for 3 nights in a tent the week after the 4th of July 2024. Our site was #66. Nice flat site, relatively secluded on 3 of the 4 sides. The campers behind us were viewable, but a good distance away, not a problem. At the time of our stay, the flush restrooms were out of order due to a water shortage, but the port a potties replacements were kept very clean. There was potable water still available. All in all, a very wonderful stay. Id recommend it if youre looking for a simple quiet, no frills camping experience.

The trees have grown in much more since the campsite photos were taken! You really can't see your neighbors through them. Just down the road is the put in ramp for non-motorized boats (kayaks, paddle boards, etc.). Day parking there is $8, but there's a short trail back to the campsite if you want to leave your car at your camping spot after unloading. Rather than the typical pit toilets, they had several port-a-potties in our loop, which were kept clean. The views of the mountains from the campsite were amazing!

I always enjoy this campground, have been coming for 20+ years. With the growth of camping and campgrounds being full most of the summer since Covid, Peak One has had a lot of use and needs some TLC. Some sites need grading/re-leveled, gravel is almost non-existent and the steeper slopes above the campsites have washed out. With the camping fees increasing every year these maintenance issues should be addressed. Otherwise the camp hosts were attentive and kind, no groups were loud after quiet hours.

Other than the bathrooms not being in service this year, the place is our favorite

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
