Great experience. Quiet, clean. The only thing missing was the option to purchase firewood. There was some for sale a little down the road.

Quiet campground, sites are nicely situated with ample individual space. The water pump was a bit difficult to operate by one person - but it was early in the season, so this might have improved with use. We would definitely return.

Good condition, basin park was beautiful, good hiking right nearby. Not a lot of bugs when I went.

Nice quiet camping with a pump water and pit toilets, if you want a nice, secluded place this is it.

Only issue was there was no running water because the spout was broken, had to go to the nearby campground (Basin) to fill up our water, but it was a short 2 min car ride or 15 min walk to get there. The campsite itself was great and very close to lots of trails. Great views!

A nice small secluded campground. There is a small lake and a lot of hiking trails in the area. If you want an out of the way place to camp, this is great. We would stay again. There is plenty plenty of room. It was a nice secluded spot away from other campers, with the convenience of being across the road from the restrooms. There are no showers, just toilets and cold water sinks. There are water spigots around the campground.

very nice camping, very quiet during the night. One important thing to know, the water pump was not working, so we had to go to the other campground(Bassin) for water.

I've been coming here for years. It's clean, quiet, and the whole surrounding area is just beautiful.

Nice sites, restrooms were very clean, grounds were well-maintained. Trail through the woods to Basin Pond could be a bit more well-marked.

The camp host harassing us on the location of our tents and where we parked the car was the least of our problems.. our dog ingested a nearly lethal combo of marijuana, Benzo Buprenorphia (likely a cocktail left by an addict) at the campground). After rushing him to urgent care he is doing fine but very scary.

Very clean. Camp site spread out in excellent distance, each camp site has privacy. Thank you national forest for creating camp site program for us. I totally support and if there is 10 star. I would rate all 10 stars

Quiet and clean campground. Pit toilets and a pump for getting water are downfalls in this beautiful small campsite. Would stay there again.

Very nice campground. The sites are spaced out well with plenty of privacy. The location is beautiful. Not a huge fan of the pit toilets but I knew that upon booking.

Rustic, clean, and uncrowded. Great location for hikes in the Evans Notch area.

Kelly the campground host was most accommodating and friendly. Peaceful dry camping experience

This was a great little camp site for a large group of friends. It's one loop so it's easy to find eat other and there was a large covered pavilion where we could eat lunch together when it rained. The toilet isn't flushable, its a pit toilet but there was toilet paper and it didn't smell as bad as a port-a-potty. There are good hikes within driving distance.

Cold River Campground is a nice, quiet location for a weekend getaway if you like wooded sites and nature.
@KenG907 · Camped on Sep 25, 2020 at Campsite #14
Cold River is a nice site and a great location, but it isn't tent friendly. Each site is quite large with lovely grassy areas perfect for tents, however, you can't set tents on the grass, they have to be setup in the small gravel area where you also park. This is fine for trailers, but it is rough for tents as it is hard with sharp rocks and very difficult to put in stakes.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
