I loved my site I picked for the 2nd time going there. One suggestion have smaller tables so a screen house could fit over it. Might want the host to look at the table part of it is rotted away.

It a small but really nice campground

A hidden gem! We camped here in mid-August during the week and only 3 other campsites were being used. Very quiet, plenty of trees/vegetation between each of the sites. Our site has a little path leading down to the small brook, so peaceful! Camphost had firewood for sale for $8, so we had a nice fire on a cool evening. Bathrooms were tidy and well-stocked.

The hosts are friendly and effective at attending to the campers needs. Thank you.

Awesome place to camp ! Ive been going to this camp ground since I was a kid . Definitely worth the trip to get away from the world .

The campground itself was great. It was clean, the sites were very well spaced and even being 65-75% full and with families it was quiet. The only drawback was the pit toilets which hadnt been cleaned out in a LONG time and were VERY smelly by the day we left. More attention should be given to those by the host.

Nice if you're trying to go hiking in the White Mountains. Not as close as some of the other campgrounds, but still close enough to get out and experience the area!

This is a nice quite campground. Best smelling (least smelly) vault toilets ever! Manual water pump, lack of hose connection, lack of filling or dump station is a bit odd. Location was convenient for our touring plans. There is a nice stream nearby, but we didn't wade or swim.

What a peaceful, quiet place. This was our 4th stay...we use it as a great and convenient stopover between Vermont and Maine.

Beautifully maintained and quiet campground that appeals to the whole family! Campsites with brook access and Wild River is just a hop and a skip away. Plenty of fish to catch, trails to hike and memories to make. The owls calling in the night are remarkable! Can't wait to return.

Ive camped there my whole life. Im 47. Its always a great time there. The fishing was awesome for a change. Like when I was a kid. The bathrooms needed fly strips. They were clean but a lot of flies. Cant wait for next year

Bathrooms were cleaned regularly. Hosts cleaned sites between visitors. A fair amount of greenery between sites.However, despite the rules stating generators should be run only during two 2 hour blocks, generators were running throughout the day. It sounded like even the hosts were running theirs outside of hours. If you are bringing a rig and planning on sitting inside all the time with the windows closed it might be good for you. But if you are in a tent or looking for a quiet place in the forest this is not it.

Had a wonderful stay at site 20. My girls loved exploring the river out back. Great place for kids. Nice flat sites with plenty of room for tents. The Hosts were wonderful and very attentive. Make sure you have a bit of cash for firewood, ATM's are a bit of a drive

Spent two nights at Hastings Campground. Great base camp for hikes in this part of the White Mountains and a dip in the Wild River.

Hastings is a great campsite location and I have camped there many times very happily. This was the first time we visited the spot so early in the season (opening day). My only complaint with this last trip was that there was NO TOILET PAPER in any of the vault toilets on site. Luckily my family was prepared, but this could easily have ruined a camping trip for someone else

This campground was perfect for our time exploring part of the White Mountains. There were trails nearby for hiking. The campground host, Tom, was very friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed speaking with him. We stayed midweek in the fall, so the campground was quiet and not very crowded. We would stay there again.

Great place, this was my second time staying at Hastings. My last visit was at the end of the season during the week and only 2 or 3 spots were occupied. Very quiet....5 stars!!
@MauraH5769269 · Camped on Sep 10, 2022 at Campsite #10
Great spot although a little close to the road so traffic noise during the day. Pretty quiet overnight. Campsite (#10) was private and provided plenty of room for our 19' travel trailer. No hookups but we had no problem boondocking for 3 nights. This campground is located near miles and miles of great hiking and some pretty good fly fishing. Also not far from Bethel, ME and Gorham, NH where this is a great brewery.

One of the best national forest sites we have ever been too. The host was great with lots of info. He even said goodbye and thanked us for staying. We will be back!

Host was incredibly inviting. Sites were well maintained. Evans Brook and Wild River are very close and so clean and beautiful! We enjoyed every minute of being here. Will definitely be coming back!

We have camped there there in the middle of August the past 2 years. 2 adults, 2 kids, and a dog. We love it there. The host Tom was very friendly and he took real good care of the sites and outhouses. If you like campground life full of activities this may not be for you. But if you like hitting the woods and rivers exploring on your own this place makes a perfect base camp. In my family's experience everyone was respectful and it was very quiet at night. Especially during the weekdays and the place empties right out. Just remember, your in the woods, so expect and prepare for a healthy population of bitting incects, and all sorts of critters.

Hastings is one of the quieter and more secluded campgrounds in the WMNF. Sites are private and enclosed, and some trails lead down to a small stream.
@CharlesB214095 · Camped on Jul 7, 2022 at Campsite #3
Tom was a great host. The campground is remote, approximately 20 miles to closes store. Hiking in the Evans Notch area is fantastic. Close to awesome sandy beach on the wild river. Water was warm
@MIGUELZ436 · Camped on Oct 5, 2021 at Campsite #21
As the number of trailers and motor homes increases so does the noise coming from generators. This is not a preferred campground for tents, specially late in the season. The hosts did a great job at trying to accommodate everyone so we could all have a great experience but somethings are. Just incompatible. I know I will never pitch my tent here again

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
