I cannot say enough about what a wonderful time we had at Horseshoe Point! We arrived early and the guard at the gatehouse was so nice and let us go on in and setup. The site was clean and very roomy, conveniently located right across from the bath house (which is also spotless), and just a short walk to the little beach area. We can't wait to return!

Have been camping at horseshoe point for years and years love the campground and the clean water and the lack of boats and they other campers. But you need to fix the showers tired of trying to keep everything dry. Need more space and an extra room to dry off and dress.

Majority of roads inside campground are steep, narrow, with sharp angled turns. Due to near lake activities. many vehicles / boat trailers parked beyond their camp site boundaries. July 4th fireworks were loud and clear well late into the night. Prepare for additional leveling as most sites are noticeably uneven.

We pulled in late after driving 6 hours to get there. The reservation showed the pull through space would accommodate a 36 foot trailer. When we got there, we could see it was tight, but it definitely didnt fit our 30 foot trailer. My hubs almost damaged his truck by coming with in centimeters of going off some of the railroad ties lining the space. Maybe an airstream or something without slides might stand a chance of getting a better start at it, but if you have slides, even if you get into site #1 you wont have space to use them.Leaving was probably the scariest drive my hubs and I ever made with the trailer. Not being familiar with the campground and just following what seemed to be the easiest path out of the park without jack knife turning. We went through the smallest road with such a tight turn by the tent camping area that we felt our trailer trying to go off the edge. Its only by the grace of God we still have our truck and trailer. Even if we werent supposed to go that way, its easy to see how someone might accidentally go that path and its definitely not safe for anything other than maybe a tear drop, if that.Im sure the campground is nice, the people running it are nice, they did refund us right away, but the risk factor of being there at all with a 30 foot trailer and driving all that way to not fit into a space we were supposed to fit in was incredibly inconvenient and disappointing.I would have love to visit the lake. It looked so beautiful in the dusk light, but there was just no way.Im going to say nothing over 22 feet to fit comfortably.

Quiet, remote campground. Good privacy. We didn't use the facilities, but there seemed adequate bathrooms with showers. The dump station is on a bit of a hill, so I didn't try to use it since the slope would keep things from running to the drain.I would pay close attention to the recommended vehicle length. We were in a 26 foot site with a 25 foot trailer. We just got in and it took some maneuvering. Folks next to us tried and failed since there unit was a little too big and they had too little patience.

Had a tent site on the water and it was great. Beautiful and wooded and semi private. Some sites are a little wonky and have two tiers while others would be a challenge to put more than a large tent on.Shower houses were mostly clean but poorly ventilated. TMobile Cell service was non existentnot a complaint but be aware. Also there is some limited firewood available on site but no camp store so ice or any other supplies are about 20 minutes away. Overall a beautiful place but choose your site carefully, preplan your supplies, and bring a map

Love Horseshoe Point! I have been camping there since I was a little girl and I recommend it over all the other places in the area. The only thing that I wish was better is that there were more electric sites. 15 out of 49 sites just arent enough. I would love to be able to take my camper to a lakefront site with electric. My husband has to have a CPAP machine so we have to have electricity when we camp.

Beautiful, peaceful campground. Hosts were very nice. The sites with electric designed for bigger rigs. A bit out of the way, and very curvy roads to get there, but worth it!

Love this campground! Great sites, water access and very remote. We love to bring paddle boards and kayaks here for a weekend to just paddle around and enjoy the calm water.

The park is beautiful and the staff are super nice! Unfortunately the no alcohol rule isn't enforced which wasn't fun to be around with our young kids. We also saw campers damaging trees on their site. As people who believe in "leave no trace," seeing that broke our hearts. The park and lake are great! The other campers.... not so much.

I love all the campgrounds at Philpott. Always a great experience. Good bathrooms and showers, volunteers and rangers are very friendly. The only negative I've had is when some camper uses a generator in the morning at a non-electric site... very noisy...I'd say generators should be banned.. they should have booked an electric hook-up campsite.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
